Amy: I hear ya! Happens to me all the time. Just once I wish a chef would come to my table to talk to me about my problem. I get a waitress who assures me she understands the need to make me a fresh salad, and then serves me one with a hidden crueton. My question to you is the spice you have at home contain MSG. While it doesn't bother everyone, and MSG in the US is suppose to be wheat free, MSG can contain Wheat but they don't have to label it that way. I stay away from MSG like it is the plague unless a manufacture tells me personally that theirs is gluten free.
Wish I could say the same! I went to Dave's BBQ thinking well the corn muffins are out but surely my other favorites will be GF since they are beans and meat. Nope. The waitress asked and they said all of their meat products are seasoned with a mix that contains wheat. I am writing the company today. I think it is awful that they advertise such great BBQ and food but can't season it without wheat. I even told the waitress that I have their rub for the meat at home and it specifically says "no allergens" and does not list wheat as an ingredient so why are they adding fillers to the meat? She said she was told it was in the seasoning. Geez guess I won't be going there again. That was my first bad experience where I literally could not eat anything but coleslaw, green beans, and apples. I am also allergic to soy and they have hydrolized soy protein in all of their sauces, again filler. The place is not cheap but evidently their ingredients are. Amy

This location does not use a common fryer for the fries and actually came and checked with me and checked the ingredients before serving me anything to drink! Then, the bartender and I came up with a GF concoction that was just to die for! Kahlua, milk, coffee, and Hershey's. I had two, they were that good.
I actually had a really good dining out experience and would not be afraid to go back there again. Turns out that one of the waitresses has a husband who has CD! She probably has them all up to speed, that is too awesome.
Next will be lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory, they have a GF menu. When I'm done moving, I think I'll treat myself. Then I need to find a butcher that can provide good meat. =)
