to ANIM8R...barley is one of the grains, along with wheat, rye, and "regular" oats, which contain gluten. (By regular oats, I mean oats which have not been grown and processed in such a manner that they are free from "cross contamination" from grains with gluten.) Does that help?

Thank you for the link. Now, for a "dumb" question. I'm new to this eating GF, I have been misdiagnosed for almost 15 years. I read the article and I didn't see anything about gluten being mentioned. So how do you know that is not good for celiacs?

thanks for the post. This is really scary as we will have to watch out for 'heart healthy' products as dangerous for the gluten intolerant & celiacs..

A request to all - Please make links that work. We can't click on the link you posted. The only way we can use it is to copy it to notepad, remove the line breaks, open a window, then open a link and paste the link copied from notepad. Yikes!
To post a link, click on 'ADD A LINK' box right immediately above the message box, then paste the link into the link box provided and finish by clicking on the purple action box. It will add it to the end of your post with the HTML coding needed for links.
thanks Barb

Cargill is coming out with a barley based fiber that can 'hide' in food. We now have to start looking out for the ingredient Barliv.
