Tried something new today, Kettle Cuisine GF New England Clam Chowder. It was yummy and tasted like the real thing. It's frozen and goes in the microwave, available at Whole Foods, natural food stores in New England at at gluten free mall. 330 calories and very filling.
The lemon shortbreads are my faves. The only chocolate chip cookies I've found in GF that taste anything like the real thing are from a bakery here in VT. I don't buy them though because they are too good and I eat too many at a time! Tammy
I to love the Kinnikinnick Hamburger Buns but I wish they weren't so many calories and fat grams. That's the only problem about the gluten free subs is that there fattening......lol So I treat with the hamburger buns. But usually have them on Kinnikinnick's bread and save myself some calories and fat grams. Darn it......lol
So what has everyone discovered lately that is almost like the 'real' thing?
My recent discoveries at the new health food store about 45 minutes from me: Glutino Pretzels - OMG, they are almost like the real thing. Have to really watch the portion sizes though because they are much higher in fat that regular pretzels. Glutino Spinach and Feta Pizza - Almost like the real thing. Bake up really nice in the toaster oven too. Kinnikinnick Hamburger Buns - I had forgotten how nice it is to eat a hamburger like a normal person. I thaw then out and then lightly toast. Delish!
