I started a new weight-loss program a week ago. In the program I am getting acupuncture treatments twice a week and am eating a raw vegetable diet and exercising. Check out my SparkPeolpe blog postings for more information. The program has been working great for me. I lost 6.6 pounds in one week on the diet. My Doctor was pleased since most of that weight loss was fat.
It has been a very radical change in diet for me, but I was ready for BIG change. I was tired of being fat. I was tired of counting every calorie, staying within my range for months and STILL not loosing. I was tired I riding my bike for hours and burning 1000ís of calories on each ride and still not loosing.
Dr Kim says that what we are taught, eat less calories than you consume and youíll loose weight is not true. He claims that his diet and treatments force the body to consume the fat stored in our body.
So I can say that this is working for me but I understand that it is not for everyone and it may not even work for everyone.

I'm with the pokester on the low carbs, higher protien. I'm a veggie lover and used to go days without eating meat. Thought I was getting enuf protien from my beans,nuts, milk and Quinoa, WRONG according the breakdown of the Sparkpages tracker.
And daily exercize. Don't forget that! : ) Mzzchief

Never underestimate the value of getting out of your own way.
I'm hyporthyroid, so getting my TSH down to a normal range is what helped me. At least I didn't gain during the two + months it took to stablize.
Aside from that, adding psyllium and fibresure to my diet, as well as Triphala helped a great deal. As did downloading the fiber tracker to make sure I was getting between the 30 -40 gs of fibre that hypothyriod peeps need.
I credit those 3 things for really helping to slim my middle and make me more "comfortable" as I wasn't walking around with junk in my trunk for days on end.
Less in carbs, high in protein and normal on fat. Exercising 5 times a week, burning about 1500-2000 cals. Discipline and the will to continue when on a plateau (4 month it was :( )
Every time I fall (about once a week) I get up again and continue without being mad or feeling guilty. Im human, I can and will be tempted. Being tempted and not being able to resist isn't the Issue, going on and starting over is.
