I just finished my weightloss challenge yesterday 11/18/2009. I lost 7.4lbs and 11.25 inches. Not bad for having bronchitis and not able to exercise the last 2 1/2 weeks. I did do La bamba the first month to help me get started.

DAY 1
Make the protein drink according to the following instructions. Have this drink throughout Day 1 and have no other food or drink. This is the only day where you might feel a bit hungry, but rest assured that your body is not starving. Each package of the Beverage Mix has 15 grams of protein. You will be consuming 8 packages, which means you will be getting 120 grams of total protein in Day 1.

To make the protein drink:

1) Take 2 gallon jugs of water.

2) In EACH gallon of water, mix:

4 packets of our Herbalife Beverage Mix Packets (Peach Mango or Wild Berry)
2 teaspoons of our Herbalife Herbal Concentrate Beverage Energy Tea
9 capfuls (2 fl oz) of the Herbal Aloe Beverage Drink


DAY 2
For Day 2, you will have:

5 Shapeworks Formula 1 Shakes,
2-3 cups of Herbal Concentrate Tea,
at least 8 glasses of water

Shapeworks Formula 1 Shakes are based on the NASA concept of the Complete Meal - you get all the nutrients and phytonutrients you need. Furthermore, every shake contains 20 grams of protein, 22 grams of carbohydrates, 6.4 grams of fat and only 250 calories. For Day 2 you will have a total of 100 grams of protein, 110 grams of carbohydrates, 32 grams of fat and 1250 calories.

The protein-rich shakes will suppress your hunger and the thermogenic effect of protein will help the body release glucagon which turns your body into a fat-burning machine. Hence the saying - ultimate weight loss plateau breaker plan.

To make each shake add:

2 scoops of the Herbalife Formula 1 Shake mix
1 tablespoon of Herbalife Protein Powder
8-12 ounces of either soy or low fat or skim milk (no fruit juice)
Do not add fruit! (We want to restrict your intake of carbohydrates on this day)


DAY 3
For Day 3, you will have:

2 Shapeworks Formula 1 Shakes (made the same way as in Day 2)- no fruit or fruit juice,
1 colorful meal - consisting of lean meat or fish, 3-4 servings of vegetables, salad, small potato or half cup of rice,
2-3 cups of Herbal Concentrate Tea,
at least 8 glasses of water


Return to your regular Shapeworks Program Mealplan which consists of 2 shakes, 1 balanced meal, and supplements.

NOTE: When you hit a plateau, the dieter's tendency is to eat less (and exercise more). However, do not starve yourself! Instead, stay consistent and commit yourself to the mealplan. When you starve yourself, your body will start to conserve energy and store fat. If necessary, try the LaBamba Diet again. You can do this once per month.

The LaBamba Diet is not a starvation diet. Instead, it is based on science and nutrition. To lose fat and not merely water weight, we must get our bodies to burn fat. Glucagon is the hormone that increases the fat-burning capacity of our bodies while insulin is the hormone that encourages the body to store fat. It's the ultimate weight loss plateua breaker.

The science behind the Herbalife Labamba Diet is that we will increase our body's production of glucagon and decrease the body's production of insulin. Glucagon is released in the body when we eat protein and insulin is released to regulate carbohydrate metabolism. Im beginning Day 2 of the La Bamba Cleanse. Today I have 5 Herbalife Protein Shakes, 2-3 glasses Green Tea Concentrate, and atleast 8 glasses water. I stepped on the scale this morning. I weighed in at 198lbs. I have lost -1.8lbs according to my Taylor Body fat Scale. The same scale I weighed in on yesterday. Whooo Hoo!.

Yesterday went easier than I thought. Compared to last time it was a snap. I didnt get any shakes this time. Maybe because I knew what to expect. I even exercised 20 minutes on the elliptical this morning and did strength training this morning. I feel great so far.

I entered another 12 week weightloss challenge about three weeks ago. Im doing La Bamba Cleanse Day 1 today. It consists on 2 gallons of Herbalife Wild Berry Protein Drink Mix with 2 tsp Green Tea Concentrate and 9 capfuls of aloe juice in it. I drink this all day.

Weight this morning on my Taylor body fat scale.
199.8 lbs
37.9% body fat

I can't wait to do it again either.

i've not been doing good weight wise this last week though. not being able to be active and exercise has bottomed me out. I get tired just donig household duties. I tried a walk up he drive a few times but had to turn around.

to my mailbox and back is 1 mile. I love that walk. I had hoped to jog it by the end of the summer so these health issues best leave my body SOON! lol

so keep in touch as to when you are going to do it again. 1month will be around July 4th. want to aim for a week after that? it's nice to do it with someone :)

Steph,

Even though its the day after La Bamba and Im done. I weighed in at 202.6. Thats a 1.2lb weight loss. Si Im still losing still after La Bamba. So maybe this will speed thing up a bit in the weightloss department. My only hopeis that it has reved up my metabolism. Im going to add more exercise too to the regimen now that I can eat more. LOL. Looking forward to next month.

well my scale this morning after day 3 said a 2 pound gain and I think it's because I had my 1 good meal for supper and we ate around 7:00. I should have had lunch as my meal. I tend to gain if I eat supper but we'll see if I can shake those pounds today before weigh in tonight.

I also wasn't as active yesterday. tired and sat around more, no exercise. maybe that plays into it.

I might do it next month too.

Day 3 Results: I weighed in at 203.8lbs. I gained 1.4 lbs. I can only guess its is because I wasnt pushing the water (I only drank 5 20oz bottles of Dansani water) yesterday afternoon due to traveling to St.Louis to take my son to a Dr. appt. I didnt eat any fruit or bread, only vegetables and healthy carbs, salad and a lean meat and my two shakes. I only drank water other than the milk in my protein shakes I feel good though. I still need to do measurements and see if I lost in inchess too. I lost a a GRAND total of 6lbs !! emoticon on this round of La Bamba Cleanse diet. I cant wait for a month to go by so I can do it again! I weigh in tomorrow in for the final night of our weightloss challenge so I'll really see how I compare from last week in on her scale!!! I am SO ready for this weigh in!! emoticon

I lost a total of 3 inches gone!!!!

Day 2 results: I steps on the scale at 202.4lbs. Im down 1.6 more lbs for a total of 7.4 lbs so far. Not bad aafter two days. I cant wait till tomorrow to see Day three Grand total!!!!!

I'm 3 pounds down this morning.

my computer is fixed too. i'm sooooooooo looking forward to the 5 shakes today LOL!

how did you do drinking all that juice???? OMG no exercise necessary since you are going to the bathroom all day long :):)

I made it through 1 gallon and 3/4th of the second gallon. my downfall was not being able to drink as much in the a.m. because I was gone. I took a 32oz cup with me but I was gone longer than I expected so I basically filled it up and drank it, filled it up and drank etc the rest of the day til 6:00. whew! got up 2x in the night to stumble to the bathroom.

overall not too bad. wasnt' hungry and it tasted good enough. I was skeptical about that.

today should be a breeze with 5 shakes and tea

Steph, I weighed in after day one and I weighed 204 lbs. that is 5.8lbs gone in 1 day! WOW! I can wait to see how today goes. I have to work today so it should go by faster than yesterday. Im glad to hear I have someone else to do La Bamba with too. I cant wait to hear your results. Keep me posted. Hope your computer woes resolve itself soon.

I'm doing La Bamba this weekend. Wish me luck. I'm curious what kind of results everyone had? This is my first time and my final weigh for our weight loss challenge is Thursday night. I'm excited and impressed so far. I used the Wild Berry Protein Drink. I have tasted the mango peach and it is much too sweet for me. I weighed in this morning on my home scale at 209.8lbs. My body fat is 44.1% and BMI is 35.8. I still need to take my measurements this morning before I forget. I'm hoping this puts me below 200 or atleast close to 200lbs. At least I'll feel like reach my goal by June 25 to be under 200 lbs by my 41st birthday!!!!! Wish me Luck??? I'm going to need it . . .
