Making eating right and loosing weight a competition I am so competitive it annoys me sometimes but it motivates me :-)
Motivates me to exercise the most or to find the healthiest food or to loose te most weight or build the most mucle I need to get my husband back in the competition lol
The only thing about being competitive with me is I have to watch myself so I don't over do it but it makes loosing and getting healthy more fun lol

Doing workouts that I enjoy doing! Keeps me motivated and focused. If I feel that it's too much, I will not do it at all! For example, I know a lot of people love P90X. I bought it and did not enjoy it at all! I ended up giving it away.

So, do something you enjoy, not someone else!

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Don't ever aim to be perfect. Aim to do better than you have before.

Eat natural, wholesome foods.
Even a little bit of what is considered "bad" is much better than eating something synthetically produced.

One example is butter vs low-fat spreads.

Butter is all natural. A low-fat spread has been processed until it is spreadable and edible. Let's face it, is olive oil in it's natural state spreadable? No - so things such as stabilisers and emulsifiers (found in emulsion paint of course - yak!) have to be added to the oil, along with a plethora of other additives, to make something that spreads. And it doesn't even taste nice!

Of course, this is all totally my personal opinion and I wouldn't want to impose my views on anyone else. But I'm of the opinion that natural is best.

A sensible amount of everything, in a well balanced diet, along with regular activity is a sure way to maintaining a healthy body and mind.

Right, down off my soap box now!

Please read my ticker backwards as I am trying to gain weight.

I love this thread...great advice... I agree keep the tips coming.

I totally agree that eating clean makes the world of difference. For the past 2 weeks, I have given up gluten, soy, dairy, eggs, peanuts, corn and sugar. I started the Virgin Diet thinking it would be a detox/fitness jumpstart. But now I'm hooked. I may incorporate a few eggs and dairy if my body can tolerate after the first phase but I have already ordered books on Paleo and Primal eating/fitness. With my increased energy, clarity, and weight loss (8 lbs already), I will never go back to processed food for me or my family.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GREAT TO START, BUT YOU HAVE TO START TO BE GREAT!!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Phillipians 4:13.

A body at rest stays at rest, but a body in motion stays in motion.

While sleeping in and breakfast in bed are calm and relaxing, the cruel truth is the longer you lounge around the harder it is to get up and move. However, when you're up and about it's sooo much easier to keep going!

Eat nothing with a label on it. When I eat fresh foods, unprocessed I loose weight. Anything else, I gain.

If it is going to be it is up to me!!!
