Right on Night! You are very correct – it takes time but you will eventually get used to it. I think some cravings won’t totally go away, but at least you won’t be eating the unhealthy food all the time. Balance is key.

My hair turned out OK. It looked decent for about an hour – then I went for a run and got it all sweaty. For a brief moment I thought whether I should run or not..then I laughed at myself because I knew that wasn’t an option. It was going to be a mess in the morning anyway, so why skip a run? We have cooler temps this week (after the 100’s last week), so believe me – I am taking any opportunity to go out for a run.
I met two runners this morning and we all had the same thoughts – Isn’t it just nice for a run?! We can breathe and run unhindered. Oh the simplest joys of life!

Have a great day SP friends!

Oh same here. Before DragonCon at the end of August I'm going to get my bangs trimmed. My four year old is getting hers cut next week so I might just make it a mommy/daughter day at the salon. :)

Those first few days of trying to get used to altering the way you eat are the toughest, hon. You'll be smacking your own hand for days LOL. But you'll get through it, and before you know it you'll start PREFERRING the food you're eating! I tried regular spaghetti last night after using nothing but wheat spaghetti for the longest time and my stomach was turning from the starch in it. LOL. My kids will only eat turkey bacon because that's all we keep in the house now; any place that has regular bacon the taste just doesn't seem right to them. You just start adjusting to it! :)

I hear you on the haircut with a new stylist.

So far I've been doing pretty good on my new nutrition plan. Feeling pretty good and have plenty of energy. Had a couple of cravings today, but I got through them. The toughest part is being around the rest of the family when they are eating. The hubby was packing his lunch and had his baggie of Dorritos and his baggie of Oreos and I thought for a quick second "just one won't hurt" but then I decided it just wasn't worth it and I fixed my rice and blackeye peas and I was just fine :)

Got in a couple short Jessica Smith videos after dinner then did some step stuff while I was watching TV this evening, so I managed to get all of my steps in today YAY!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Leslie - it will take some time to get used to eating differently, but if you start slow I think that it will be manageable.
Yesterday was PiYo, upper ST, and core.
Today I have a haircut appointment right after work with a new hairdresser. I really hate this ordeal - I always end up hating my haircut emoticon
Have a great day everyone

Thanks ya'll, I truly appreciate the support. I went and did all my shopping yesterday, I have lots of fruits and veggies (the ones I'm allowed) 'real' rye bread (that was a little pricey), yogurt which I was surprised I could have since I can't have milk, Lots of beans and I can still eat some chicken. I think I'll do ok with this, I won't be perfect, going to take some getting used to, but I can do it!

Good luck, hon! There are actually some pretty good vegetarian/vegan recipes that I have found here are Sparkrecipes, so if you need any good ideas food-wise go check it out. They have some great stuff there! :)

That's exactly right NIGHT!!! We all need that sometimes.

Janet, I am going to try (I use the word TRY because I know it won't be easy) to eat according to blood type. It is not a "fad" diet, its just avoiding foods that don't work with your blood type. I am in the A blood type group. So it is more of a vegetarian diet, I am a meat and potatoes person so it will prove a little difficult. However, I have been doing better with the potatoes and the red meats, so it may be ok. I am going to try it for a week and see how it goes. It says you can use a 85/15 ratio and and you should notice a difference in the way you feel. It is not a weight-loss diet, it is simply what researchers have found work with certain blood types. A friend/co-worker is trying it and told me about it so I Googled it last night and found what I should/shouldn't be eating. Years ago someone asked what my blood type was and mentioned that I should stick to a vegetarian diet so its not the first time I've heard it. I will definitely let ya'll know how it goes. I will probably start on Sunday.

Hope you all are having a great day and have a FANTASTIC weekend.

Back to work for a couple more hours!

HEALTHYCHIC - I like the stability exercises because I really don't have any. I walk and I fumble - that's how much I lack stability emoticon They give me a challenge and that is what I like.
Leslie - what are you trying different? I generally do OK with food during the week, but the weekend is my downfall. This week I ate more but I think it might be because I ran more.
Night - That's why we're here - to give you a push emoticon

Ran 6 miles yesterday and it was in the 90's emoticon I took water this time and it is the only reason that I lasted. Today I am off of work and I have to do chores emoticon and also fit in the workouts.

Feeling pretty good about this week and staying on track after a lousy weekend of eating and little activity. I did a couple of Jessica Smith videos tonight, one aerobic and one strength a total of 40 minutes.

Going to try something slightly different with my eating next week and see if I can stay on track a little easier.

Hope everyone has had a great week! I'm looking forward to the weekend!

NIGHTSHADEISIS – totally understand the guilt, but if you are careful all the time, one weekend will not sabotage anything. Enjoy yourself! Then come back here so me a Leslie can kick you back into shape emoticon
Leslie – great choice. You have lots on your plate right now.

Yesterday did only PiYo. It was a great session though. Next week I will *try* to follow their schedule whenever I can. I might have to work around it to fit ST and running.

You have so much fun at DragonCon that you tend to block out the heat and the pain of the walking, amazingly. But it's finding something HEALTHY to eat that is the trick. LUCKILY they have a Subway there with Salads and veggie subs that I can work around LOL. But sometimes I honestly just leave that weekend as my "reward weekend." Ashamed to admit it in a way....but at the same time I save up all my frustration and stress to uncork for that ONE WEEKEND. Beating myself up over a plate of Sushi, a blizzard from DQ, and a Coke Zero, doesn't seem worth it when I'm de-stressing after a year like I've had :)

Nightshadesis - I understand both parts... the Georgia heat and the being at events where there is nothing good. I live in SE Georgia and it is hot and humid from about May to Nov, then just humid.

Well, I have decided to put T25 on hold for a bit. Going to try to pick it back up after the kids get back in school and are settled into more of a routine. I liked it, but when I missed for a few days it was way too hard to get back into. I have been doing some Jessica Smith videos and it seems to be working better for me at this time. Maybe if I can push myself to get up early in the morning again it will be better. Looking to restart the end of Aug./beginning of September. I will come up with a date and put it on a calendar otherwise it may or may not happen.

Sounds like you are back on track Janet, great job on that!

Oh geez Nightshadesis - Hopefully this year there will be better options. I hate fairs where I cannot find any food. I am vegetarian and I cannot digest a lot of grease, so I am always left hungry at fairs. My decision to be a vegetarian of course, but I cannot do anything for the grease.
Leslie - Jessica has a lot of different workouts to fit every mood. T25 is good and all, but I sometimes do not want to do high-impact/high-intensity workouts, and I want to settle for something efficient but low-key. Don't feel bad that you are not doing T25 as scheduled - you are still doing a great workout with Jessica. Sometimes the body needs to step down from such high impact workouts (my opinion).

Yesterday was PiYo and run for me. It was 97F when I was running so I had to keep the run shorter than planned. I wish my town will have more water fountains.

Miller it sounds like the weekend I am going to have Labor Day. LOL. DragonCon. A convention where it's pretty much non stop walking for a six block radius, so workout is not a problem. This all being done in 80-90 degree Georgia heat. BUT when you do eat, it's pretty much food court food. Told a friend of mine there one year "I have not eaten this much junk food and drank this much soda in a three day time span in my entire LIFETIME."

His response "SHH! What happens at DragonCon STAYS at DragonCon!"

LOL.

Fingers crossed it doesn't rain!

I had a pretty good day at the tournament, except that it was a 12 hour day did not get home til after midnight. Ate crap all day and no workout. I did a Jessica Smith workout Sunday because T25 is Monday through Friday and I wanted to stay on that schedule. However, I did not do it last night either, I was so tired after bowling, I just did a Jessica Smith walking video. About to go do it now though.

Janet, sounds like you had a great weekend with your hubby. We are going to try for the races again this Friday (fingers crossed), he is not a real active person so I am on my own there, but its ok.

Hope everyone's week is going well so far!

Sorry to hear that your weekend plans didn’t pan out. I bet you still enjoyed yourself at the baseball tournament.
I had a lovely weekend with hubby. I like when we do active things together. He is normally busy with school and doesn’t get to do much, but since he is interning right now, he has more free time. We went on a 2 hour bike ride on Saturday! There is this linear trail, and we decided to bike all the way around. It is a bit over 18 miles long through wooded areas and over bridges and along fields. Very beautiful. Cannot wait to go again!
Have a great week!

Well, we didn't make it to the races last night. My husband ended up being on call and then when he got home he was extremely sick all night. Not sure what he caught, but hopefully he will be doing better today.

Today I will be at a baseball tournament all day watching my son play. Hopefully I won't be too tired to get a workout in when I get home this evening.

Good luck on those workouts Janet!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Leslie – Have fun at the races on date night! You deserve to have a little bit of fun.
WOW...Great discipline to pass on pizza. The smell itself is enough to entice me emoticon

I only did a lunch-break walk yesterday which is not very intense. By the time I was ready to workout in the evening it was late and I was extremely tired. I knew that I will just be going through the motions, so I skipped yesterday’s workout. Today and tomorrow I plan on working double duty like you Leslie.

Janet, You're right and I really like it (well when I get done anyhow, during I'm not very nice to Shaun T, but he's not nice either). I know what you mean about the slacking and getting back into it. I hope getting it all planned out works for you. I have felt so much better since I have been back on regular workouts and it really helps me to eat healthier too. All the kids are out and about with friends so the hubby decided on pizza for dinner, but I was fine with my smoothie and grilled chicken. Usually I would eat at least one piece but not tonight.

Getting ready to do a double workout, Friday is usually double workout day for T25, but we have a date night tomorrow (going to the races) so I won't be able to get two in, hopefully I'll be able to get one in but if not I have no plans for the weekend so will be able to fit it in on Saturday.

Hope everyone has had a great week!

NIGHTSHADEISIS – In those instances, I always want to just go and throw everything away instead of sorting them out. I tend to throw away lots of things throughout the year. Moving with the military always helped because when you are packing and unpacking you’ll find things that you don’t really need, and you can throw them away.
Leslie – Amazing! See you were doubting yourself about T25 and you’re on week 2!

Need to start getting serious about running longer distances again. I slacked the last few weeks. I have it all planned out once again so it should be ‘easy’ to stick with the program. Of course I will be doing ST, PiYo and other cardio when I am not running.

So happy to have people like you in my life to encourage me forward.

*Blushes.* Aw, thanks guys! But hey I'm far from alone in that ya know. Being around people here helps with that. So many stories here and talking with all the people here on Sparkpeople are enough to make a person just feel "Wow, I am NOTHING compared to you guys!" LOL.

They should just call it "Year cleaning." Not spring, summer, winter...just "Year." *laughs.* It isn't like we finish it anyway. But I have so far gotten half the garage loaded up for a yard sale...but there is the dreaded "back shelf."

(Insert Belt from "The Croods" going "DUN DUN DUUUUUUNNNN" Here.)

The thought frightens me. There is stuff sitting on those shelves that hasn't moved since my nephew was three. He is sixteen now.....

*Cringes.*

I absolutely agree with Janet, NIGHTSHADEISIS, your determination is a true inspiration!

'Spring' cleaning is an all year thing around here, seems like I'm always cleaning something out and by the time I get done with the last room, the first one needs to be done again. I could probably clean out our garage (which has not been an actual garage in about 10 years) every 3 months and still have too much stuff.

Week 2, day 2 of T25 DONE! Can't keep up with them but I am giving it my all. But it feels great when I am done.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

You have the right spirit and so much determination and courage. You are head-strong enough to not let it get you down. Yep, I am behind on the spring cleaning as well emoticon I made a list and we started marking them off as we finished them…well, until it got to the hard ones, then we stopped emoticon I need to move the list where it is visible again so it will remind us to do them!
Imreite – Hope you get the energy back. Sometimes we all go through these bouts – However, it’s time to make this week better!

I ran yesterday! c emoticon It was not as hot. I also did a Jessica Smith 30 minute ab video.

*HUGS* Thanks, Tattercat. I didn't spend two years of my youth at Shriners being poked and prodded by doctors to get these legs back only have my head suddenly be the problem, telling me I don't get to have my life back. I was two years old when I told my mother I was going to be a martial artist, and because of a physical handicap with my legs I couldn't walk normally. Shriners gave me my legs and my life back, and I didn't fight so flipping hard to get this Black Belt to have a Chiari Malformation tell me I can't keep it. I refuse to have anything like that take my life's work away from me. I'm the only one that has the right that away from myself, and I worked too hard and too long to throw it all down now. :)

UGH...now back to the garage though for more spring cleaning. Trying to get it cleaned out and presentable and get ready for yard sales too. Anyone else behind on there spring cleaning? Here it is summer and I am barely finished...

Thanks Janet, I took probably about a dozen before I had one that was ok to upload (I do not like pictures of me at all lol).

Well, I did 4 of 5 days with T25, unfortunately I couldn't get the last day in, I was going to go back and do that one and pick up from there, but I think I am just going to let that one go and start with week 2 so I don't get confused on what day/workout I'm on. I am loving it, I will probably do the Alpha again at the end and then move onto Beta. But we'll see, I have 3 weeks left.

Had a good weekend out of town, but did not eat so well, nothing really good for me but I am making up for that now. 3 more weeks and the kids go back to school so it will be much easier for me to stay on track more consistently.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Good Luck Tabbie!

Had a full weekend but felt like I didn’t do much workouts. Time to get back at it!

Leslie – I love this photo of you!! How is the program going? I am so proud of you, you have no idea. I remember you being hesitant and almost afraid to do it, and now you are doing it! Have fun at the bowling tournament!
NIGHTSHADEISIS – Good for you that you do not give up! Most people do but it is nice when you meet people that despite the obstacles, they keep persisting.
TABBIE28 – Congrats on your weight loss!

Yesterday was my day off so I finished my chores – Now time to enjoy my weekend!

Miller: Thanks. :) Yeah, it isn't fun. I have to modify a lot of workouts as a result. No more push-ups, because pushing my own body weight leads to the dizziness, migraines, sharp pain, and sometime near fainting. I can't participate in full contact sparring in tournaments because of it, and had to start modifying my training in the dojang as a result as well (no more forward rolls or throws; when students are doing drills for forward rolls down the training floor, I have to alter mine to simply do kicking drills down the mat instead, etc.) It's sad and a sacrifice, but when the alternative is having a Type II malformation that is so severe it requires surgery....I think I'm more than willing to live with a few workout modifications in comparison.

Miller, the way I do juicing is that I juice all day about 1 or 2 32oz jars of fresh juice a day then if I feel the need to eat later that night for dinner I will usually eat a big salad with a homemade honey mustard dressing from pitted dates, fresh squeezed lemons, and mustard seeds mixed in my blender or a veggie wrap in a tortilla I use lettuce, pickles, onion, tomatoes and sometimes jalepenos topped with my dressing. One night out the week I eat whatever I want to. Also 1 or 2 days out the week I do a juice fast usually after my cheat day.

Janet - That is very true, getting the form down is the most important, hurts the lower back if its not set up right. I tend to let my back 'sag' when I can't hold it any longer so that is when I stop.

Tonight was abs and I think I may have cussed at him once, gotta love a good ab workout. The time does go by fast. I didn't think I would like having a count-down timer on the video, but you really do get focused and don't pay attention to it so when you do glance at it and see that you only have 15, 10, 5 minutes left, it is pretty cool.

I hope dinner was at least good Janet, its so hard to go to a dinner and not have anything that is good for you. I will be out of town for a kids bowling tournament this weekend and hoping I can stay pretty well on track, especially since it is not too active watching them bowl (I prefer it when I am the one bowling, lol). I did at least get a motel with a pool and I believe they have a treadmill or elliptical in their 'fitness' room, so that will be a help.

Tabbie - I'm not sure how juicing works, do you do it for a meal or two a day? I know a couple of girls at work are doing a 30-day smoothie challenge, they have one in place of a meal a day. Great job on the weight loss!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Leslie – Great job! Not all workouts will be stellar, and you will get stronger and better. You are going to kill those workouts in a few weeks! emoticon
My tip for planks are to start with seconds and build from there – even if the buff people on T25 are telling you to do more. emoticon Don't let your form falter - better to do less than do them wrong.

Tabbie – Congrats!

Had a dinner party last night and I am feeling so bloated today. I didn’t overeat, but the food provided was not healthy so I am feeling disgusting.

Thanks Janet! I am with you about getting bored, I think that is why I like these kind of workouts because it is different every day.

I had a hard time getting this one done as I was up with a sick child early this morning (between 3 and 4) and then worked all day. But I did it, even most of the jumping, however, I do not have the upper body strength for the planks, I do as much as I can, but that is really rough. I know I did not do it with as much energy today because I am tired, but I sweat a lot so I still worked hard.

Tomorrow is an ab interval, I'm sure I will just LOVE that one emoticon

Leslie – I am loving your determination and energy! Yes, No Excuses!!!!

My other exercises include running, biking, cardio, HIIT, ST, and walking. Really whatever floats my boat that day. I love to change things up because I get bored easily. I wish I could do more tennis/racquetball and basketball but you need more than one person for that and no one will play with me emoticon

No workouts for me today. I have a party right after work and I will probably be late coming home. I will need to step it up tomorrow and on the weekend.

Thanks so much ya'll, your encouragement and support really does help a lot!

Finished Day 2 of T25! I had to really push myself tonight, I had a viewing/visitation for an elderly neighbor that passed away last night so I did not get home until later than I planned. BUT... No Excuses! I feel really good with where my stamina is. Janet... there is so much JUMPING stuff.
I did as much as I could and it was more than I thought I could handle, I pushed myself pretty hard tonight.

So glad your still loving the PiYo, feels so much better when you don't hate your workouts. When you say other workouts do you mean like more cardio (I'm sure you are running LOL).

NIGHTSHADEISIS - I had to look up Chiari Malformation (I did not know what It was). Sorry to hear that, yeah, I bet it would be hard to be active and then have to step down. But great job on staying strong and working through. I, on the other hand, have never pushed myself past modified, just automatically decided I couldn't do any more than that. So glad my mind set has changed!

Hope you are all having a great week!

Great job Leslie! I hate jumping and I really despise when workouts call for it. Doesn’t it feel good when your energy returns and you feel on top of the world? Like you are invincible. If you eat right and workout this week, you will probably lose that 1.7 pounds. Most probably it is just water weight from last weekend.
Still loving my PiYo DVD’s but I have to do other workouts with it.

*HUGS Miller.* It's the little things like that that make you feel better about your progress though. Your energy picking up, keeping up your tracking... those are the things that keep you motivated to keep doing more. :)

I have to get used to doing modified versions of exercises thanks to my Chiari Malformation when for years, I never had to. It isn't fun so I feel ya there. But as long as you can still get the workout benefit, you can smile for it. That's the good thing. :)

Janet - I started T25 tonight, it is going to be hard, but I am going to do my best to stick it out.
I did not stay with the 'modified' but I did have to go to it a few times, the jumping gets me every time, but if I keep at it I will be able to do the jumping part for longer periods of time. I do feel great after doing it!

I did my weigh-in on Friday and I was only up 1.7 pounds from my last weigh-in so that was encouraging. I did great with my eating and tracking and I definitely feel like the energy level was a little higher today.

Hope you all have a great week!

Leslie – T25 should help with your workout plans and staying accountable. Have you started them yet?
Jstetser – Hope you enjoyed your walk!

My holiday weekend was great! I spent it mostly with hubby and we were active all weekend long. I feel like I over-indulged a bit – not too much were I am to the point of hating myself, but I feel that I need to work extra hard this week with nutrition and working out.
I am off to plan the menu for the week ahead! Have a superb week.

Hope you are all having a great weekend so far. I am getting ready to do a couple of Jessica Smith workouts. Been a nice week off and a great family day yesterday, but time to get serious again... for REAL!

I have spent some time in the pool playing pretty hard with the kids, but I need a real organized workout plan, that seems to be what works best for me.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

I suck with the whole vacation thing :( Have done no workout and eaten like crap. There goes my whole "getting back on track starting now" theory. Well, I have been pretty active but the whole workout thing has not happened.

Oh, well, I can't dwell on it, just FIX it! I refuse to gain back what I have worked so hard to lose. I have gained back a few pounds but nothing I can't handle and get back off. Positive attitude, right?

Nightshadeissi - You've got this, I was the same way until I did the hourglass workout and finished with only a few misses along the way. I have my T25 here ready to go, I was supposed to start it this week, but my vacation got in the way. I just pulled it out and put it next to the computer so I won't have any excuses come Sunday/Monday.

Janet and Tabbie - Keep up the hard work. Tabbie, I also look forward to hearing how everything is going for you.

Well, I'm going to go jump in the pool with the kids for a bit and at least get some cardio in this evening to let my body know what is coming in the next few days. Wish me luck!

Have a safe and happy 4th everyone!!!

Well, here's hoping that I can keep 30 Day Shred going THIS time. Every time that I start any kind of 30 or 90 Day challenge something happens that causes me to have to drop or restart it: I get sick, kids get sick, family emergency, etc. I started it yesterday morning, so here's hoping this time I get through it LOL.

Yesterday I did a tough upper body ST session and then finished it off with a sweat session of PiYo. Felt great afterwards!

I know that 4 lbs is a lot the first week and it will probably not be as high next week. I just went on a 3 day juice fast that's probably why I lost so much the first week. Will keep y'all posted on how it goes. Lots of veggies and fruits consumed in a 24 oz glass of fresh juice 14 servings today. emoticon

Leslie – Yes, definitely get that workout in before the day gets in your way, even if it is only for 30 minutes. Have you started T25 yet?

I am enjoying PiYo very much. I wanted something to help me with stability and form and I think that this will do the trick. It is harder than it looks, but fun at the same time.
I had a pretty active Sunday – in fact I didn’t get to do my house chores. Now I have to do them throughout the week after work. emoticon

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks Janet, I'll have to go check it out. I found another that is pretty active also 40 somethings with 25-49 pounds to lose. Glad you are enjoying your PiYo, I have heard it is a great workout.

I'm am feeling motivated again and it is a great feeling. My first few days of vacation have not gone so well as far as eating and working out, but I'm getting ready to get my workout in before we go anywhere today.

Hope everyone is ready for a great July, I know I am!

Leslie – I am in a team that is pretty active – Strengthening and Toning. I am glad that you are right back on track.
Stacy –I am hoping that whatever it is will heal fast!
TABBIE28 – 4 pounds in one week is a lot.

PiYo is going great! Have a new sore muscle every day. Have a run scheduled today but the weather looks awful. I might have to swap it with something else. Maybe more PiYo and some HIIT emoticon

Hey Y'all, I'm looking for a couple SP Teams to join. I left a couple of groups because they just were not active at all or just were not right for me. I don't check in or post every day and even go a few days sometimes, but I do try to check in and comment and support at least a couple times a week. If anyone has any suggestions about some other teams I might want to check out, please let me know.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Have A emoticon Weekend Everyone... emoticon

I'm going a lot slower at this time.. I'm pretty sure (going on a week now) I have injured my Achilles Tendon (Achilles Heel)... emoticon emoticon

It happened while working out...*sigh*

I'm going to the doctor this week. (I was trying to see if it was just a fluke or sprain first)

I have been doing mat only Pilates (Winsor Pilates w/Mari) and then "sitting position" Upper Body w/6 lb each Dumbbells..

I refuse to throw in the towel due to an injury!!

This has kept my foot/heel "safe."

Y'all are doing emoticon

Good Morning All,
Thanks Janet. I am feeling much better now. I always feel better after a good workout also, which is why I get so irritated with myself when I don't get one in and have no excuse for it. Back to my NO EXCUSES starting today!

Had a great day with the kids and Mom yesterday at the amusement/water park. I didn't do so great on eating, but stayed active most of the day. Yesterday was my weigh-in and I had lost all of what I gained the week before so I was pretty happy with that.

All in all, June was a pretty good month, but hoping July is better.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

NIGHTSHADEISIS – Wishing you all the best through this tough time. I find that working out always gets me in a better mood – maybe go for a small walk and see how that feels.

I have been working out this week but it hasn’t been as vigorous. I just took short lunch-break walks. I am glad that I got in a run yesterday. I always feel better after I sweat it out and pound away my frustrations of the day.

Hoping that the stress of my current situation doesn't start affecting my weight or leave me so emotionally drained that I simply don't feel like working out. The emotional weight I'm feeling right now is beginning to take its toll.

I actually haven't checked out Jessica Smith's site yet. I have looked briefly at the short fitness workout page on Yahoo screens and while short, they are variances on what I normally do, which is key to keeping from plateaus, so I'm considering giving them a shot. I think I might check out Jessica's site this weekend too. :)

Hey everyone, just haven't been feeling it.

I was very sick last night, thinking maybe this has been part of my problem with not being able to get back on track. I had some kind of stomach thing going on and it just wiped me out. Or maybe it was my body telling me to get back on track. Well I was feeling much better today, just tired from being sick all night.

Was not really feeling like a workout so I was looking at the Jessica Smith site and came across 30-Minute Dance Party, it was great. Got me moving and burned some calories and I think it is just what I needed.

Hoping with vacation starting Friday, I'll be able to really work on me and getting back on track. We don't go on big vacations, just short day trips and hang out together, so it should be pretty easy to get my mindset back to where it needs to be for that week.

I must not be doing as bad as I think I am because I am managing to maintain my weight right now, which is the next best thing to losing. I just want to get back to my regular workouts, it is definitely time to break out the T25. Perfect time to start will be Monday when I am on vacation. Get my workout in before we go anywhere and then have a great day!

Hope everyone is having a great week and staying on track!

Where is everyone? emoticon

I had a busy weekend, but fun nonetheless. I had my appointment with my surgeon but since he is 6 hours away and happens to be in the same city that my hubby grew up in, we stayed at a hotel with a swimming pool for the night. His mum and friend came over on Friday afternoon and we hung by the pool until dinnertime. On Saturday I went for a run after we came back, and yesterday just watched the World Cup and lounged around. I did some ST while watching the match though emoticon
I hope everyone has a great week!

Leslie - I hope that you have the food issues under control. Do you think that your kids will be OK with swapping a bag of chips for some healthy alternatives at least once a week? That might help you out.
Anna - I will try Insanity again when I have more energy - sometime during the weekend. I had ran 6 miles the day before, so Insanity was probably not a good choice that day.

Got back home today. I will go for a run later on. Have a great weekend everyone!

Renee - I agree, $12/mo. is great. I think our 24 hour places (we have two in our area) are like $40/mo. and you have to sign a contract for a year. I know how I am and would not stick it out at a gym, I do much better on my own at home. But at almost 1/2 that price, I would definitely sign up. Good luck and getting to where you want to be for the wedding!

So glad to hear everyone is getting back on track.

Anna - It has been hard staying on track with eating again. With workouts, it was hard making myself get started, but once I did it felt good. I believe Janet is correct, I think my body actually missed it and I feel so much better today that I did a couple of days ago.

No to just boost my will-power as far as the junk food goes. I really thought it would be easier with all the great produce this time of year. But kids are out of school and I forget that this time of year they eat more sandwiches and CHIPS.

But like I said, I think I caught myself at a good time, I noticed the weight was going up, but had not quite reached the mark I had worked so hard to get past. Yes Anna, there is NO going back!

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend and stay on track (weekends are hard for me too, but we've got this)!

So I finally have a few minutes to catch up on at least a couple days worth of posts...

Renee~ $12 a month seems like a great deal! The cost of gym memberships is part of the reason why I work out at home. The local gym is $35 per month plus you have to pay $5 additional for each class. This fee goes to the instructor of the class. emoticon I understand and I agree that people need to make a living but holy that adds up fast. I looked into a membership for the whole family thinking with the kids going on 11 & 13 we could all work out together... not happening on this families budget! With the treadmill and bike option, you should be able to lose the weight you want before your niece's wedding! emoticon

Janet~ Insanity completely overwhelmed me... I'm a wimp! I do love Jessica Smith and her variety is great. You are right about it feeling easy - then you FEEL it. I hope your appointment goes well.

Leslie~ emoticon getting back on track is always hard. I'm in the same boat, but like you said the alternative (gaining the weight) is just NOT an Option!!

Backing down, is NOT an option!

Hey Everyone!

Wow it has been awhile since I've posted. Kinda fell off the wagon for a bit... not completely, just a little. LOL. Somehow I was able to maintain my weight without diligently tracking or consistently exercising or posting regularly. I still managed to rein myself in from going completely off the deep end and continued to make good choices with my food. Since it is getting warmer (finally!) I was able to burn some calories with gardening and doing some good spring cleaning! However, maintaining is NOT what I want to be doing at this phase... LOSING is the goal!!! So, I'm back on track. NO BACKING DOWN! I can't fail at this if I just keep at it.

I love that we have more people posting. If there are people to converse with and stay in touch with it makes it easier to be accountable emoticon

Backing down, is NOT an option!

I will be starting back on treadmills and stationary bikes today in the cardiac rehab of a hospital we always go to. Last time I did it, it was $12.00 a month. Cheaper and you're at a hospital just in case something happens. Its been a while. It was long before my grandniece was born when I last did it. They're going to check me out again and get me started. Dad has pulmonary rehab in the same place and will be doing the same thing as I will be. But his is for his breathing since he has COPD. He's been having troubles breathing even though his O2 level is fine and lungs are clear.

Last month my dad and I went to Minnesota for my youngest niece's junior college graduation. She's the one with her daughter in my profile picture. My youngest niece is 19 years old and her daughter (my grandniece) is 2 years old. Will see them next month when my youngest niece gets married to the little one's dad. I'm hoping to lose more weight before we go up there about this time. Youngest niece gets married a month from today but it will be on a Saturday.

JSTETSER – I always feel good after a walk. When I take an hour for lunch, I like to go for a walk and then my afternoon is always so much relaxed. emoticon

Leslie – It won’t be hard to get back on track – as soon as you start your body will be so happy that you will want to continue.

I tried Insanity yesterday but I either wasn’t feeling it, or it is not for me. I did about 10 minutes, then I switched to ST and core. I will leave the Insanity for a rainy day and I mean literally. I found that it had a lot of cardio, so when I want to run but it is raining, I can put it on and sweat it out. Of course, it is probably like everything else – once I get used to it, I will like it. I bet it would be great for when it starts snowing again.
I did a short core workout from Jessica Smith. I like her routines – at first I always think that they are ‘easy’, but then she puts in some serious moves that leaves my muscles screaming emoticon I like that she incorporates a lot of stretching in between.

I might be offline for the next few days – I have to travel to go to a surgeon’s appointment. If I don’t chat with you – have a great weekend everyone – See you next week!

Janet - I am with you, I have been off track since Friday and I am so not happy with myself. I played hard with the kids on Sunday, but then was not well Monday and most of Tuesday. I have been off track since the AC went out and have had such a hard time getting back on. Even my eating has not been good.

However, I have not made it back to 180, so that was a sign this morning that I HAVE to get back on track no matter what. I went out and played badminton tonight and will workout tomorrow through Sunday, then I plan to start T25.

I do NOT want to go back up to the 180's so I HAVE to make myself get back on track, not to mention, I feel so much better when I am eating right and working out!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Stacy - it sounds like you are in a great place in your life. I like seeing you fulfilled, and I can see that you have great things planned for the future. Good Luck.

I haven't been doing so well the past week and I am very angry at myself. I know better than to 'let myself go' and I know how I feel when I do, so I get disappointed that I let it happen.

Venting is over - I feel awful to my stomach so I am vowing that I need to get back on this horse today!

This weekend I might have to miss some workouts due to having another surgeon's appointment and I have to travel to go and see him.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

So glad you're feeling better Janet! emoticon

RE: CB ... It was a combo of things, of course starting with the HORRIBLE GM and Management Team!

Hubby is also doing just wonderful at work and we are back on our feet!

I work when he needs my help... I'm very fulfilled bein' the CEO of our household..LOL..

I like keeping the house tidy and clean, saving money by couponing/shopping for our family, taking care of my family and so on.. It gives me time to truly work on ME as well re: having more time for fitness and my spiritual needs/wants as well.

2 1/2 years at CB was enough anyway! LOL

My true passion is writing. I have several manuscripts and also have plans for a new one.

I will never give up on trying to get my foot in the door and become a published author.

In the meantime... I'm highly considering (after my break/rest) to go back to school and dive into Nutrition/Fitness further and become a Personal Trainer.

Right in this moment... I'm enjoying free weekends, visiting family more and catching up on some projects so I can finally complete/finish them! emoticon

NIGHTSHADEISIS – What a thoughtful husband. He’s a keeper emoticon I love when they do the unexpected, and you don’t have to nag, nag, and nag some more emoticon Happy Zumba time!

Leslie – Do you have a big A/C problem? It is bad timing to have it broken. My advice is to push the skipped workout to the end, or move all the workouts by one day. Do not do it back to back on one day unless you truly know that your body can take it. I’ve heard you mention that they are tough workouts – you can strain something doing hard-core exercises without a break. Maybe do low impact exercises afterwards, or tackle a body part that you just didn’t work-out.

Stacy – Glad to hear that you’re back and still motivated as ever. Why did you leave CB? I know you had an awful GM – is that it, or is it something else? Will you look for another job?

I am feeling better – yesterday I ran 5 miles. It felt good being out and pushing my body. I was getting a nervous tick being idle emoticon

Thank you all for the support and help. I really appreciate the chit chat on here because you all motivate me to be better, stronger, tougher.

*HUGS TO ALL!*

Least everyone has found the silver lining. This is a plus!

I come home yesterday to find that the hubby had not only did the grocery shopping for me, but had gotten new batteries. Zumba ahoy for me tonight! My hero! emoticon

Hey y'all! I'm on my final leg of the Hourglass workout and made it through all four weeks at the end of this week (Sunday). I did miss yesterday due to the air still being out, but I will either do two another day or add it on to the end.

Been a pretty good week so far, stayed at Mom's last night since the house was about 95 degrees or so. It is hard staying somewhere else on a work night, but it was ok. Thankfully I have Mom right here or we would have ended up at a hotel which would have been worse.

Hope you are feeling better Janet.

Nice to see you here Stacy!

Hope everyone's week is going well.

I know I've been MIA a while here... emoticon emoticon Everyone!

April & May I was very busy at my team running challenges and then the week after Mother's Day I was FINALLY able to LEAVE Cracker Barrel! emoticon

I'm so thrilled!

I then had my 41st B-Day Memorial Day weekend and then catching up on spring cleaning and organizing my first few WEEKENDS FREE! emoticon

I just got over being ill the past few days and that knocked me off track starting off well in June.

There are 20 days left in June and this is my emoticon emoticon

Just finished my Leslie Walk It Off In 30 work out. emoticon

Hope you are all doing well!

Had a great weekend shopping my mom and daughter Saturday and then just hanging out on Sunday.

Tonight was bowling night, I usually get 20 minutes or so in on the elliptical afterwards, but I had to run to the grocery store and our air is still on the fritz. So I skipped the elliptical tonight, but had a high calorie deficit according to my BodyMedia, so no guilt.

We should be having someone come look at the air tomorrow, but I will get a workout in regardless (can't miss two days in a row).

Sorry you are not feeling well Janet, spring/summer colds are the worse. Lots of fluids and rest so you are not down too long.

NightShade - I know that feeling when I turn on the Wii or the XBox to get some activity in and the batteries are dead, I get so frustrated, usually its because the kids were playing on it and didn't mention they killed batteries and just turned the game off.

Hope everyone's week has started out well!

Go to turn on my Wii to power up my Zumba 2 game...and my batteries for my controller are dead, with no more AA in site! *pouts.* Adding AA to my grocery shopping list... :(

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Yesterday I spent the day cleaning, and only managed Jessica Smith's 30 minute Yoga Flow. I needed a good stretch because I was sore from Saturday's HIIT. I am still sore emoticon

Unfortunately this morning I woke up with a cold. I am feeling terrible. I hope it will clear by this evening so I can workout.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Leslie - Great news!! Hope you had a great time shopping!

This AM I did a HIIT workout and ST session, then went shopping with hubby and this evening I went for a run.
Didn't do much Thursday and Friday, so I figure today I had to give it my all. emoticon

Have a nice evening!

Great day today!
Started out with a great loss for weigh-in this morning (finally under 180)
Went to the Drs cholesterol is still higher than normal, but down from the last visit. No worries of having to go on meds (YAY!). Good cholesterol is normal but going to work on getting it higher, lowered blood pressure by 10 pts (but was not high to begin with, just high normal), blood sugar levels are great AND I was down 10 lbs since my last visit (approx 4/5 months ago).

Went to dinner with the kids and did my workout when I got home and having a shopping day with my mother and daughter tomorrow (we will have a salad somewhere for lunch).

Have a great weekend everyone!!
