I personally use a BodyBugg V3 and I love it! Mine synchronizes with a digital display watch and its been great. I haven't used the iPhone version, but I've heard iffy things from it (i.e. sometimes it syncs sometimes it won't). You might want to run a google search and see if there's any other opinions out there, or if they've made improvements to the sync abilities. When I bought my Bugg, I didn't have my iPhone, so I stuck with the V3 instead. Couldn't recommend it higher! Its awesome!

I have been looking at Body Bugg / Fit Bit/ Body Media fit etc. Since you brought it up, have you heard any reviews of users who are using the Body Bugg IPhone version and what they think? I'm wondering if that one is worth it or what you have heard if you know others that are using it. Thanks for any info/thoughts in advance emoticon

I agree with all the prior posts - either one will provide you with a great workout. But - if you're interested in getting an accurate calorie burn, have you looked into getting a Heart Rate Monitor or a BodyBugg??

Calorie burn is determined by height, weight, fitness level, body composition, metabolic factors and lots of other things - if you are really trying to determine your burns in a workout, you might want to invest in a HRM or a Bugg. If you want any recommendations, or have any questions about them - just let me know!

Since every body burns at a different rate, machines tend to give a "generic" burn (average 150 pound person, mid-height, mid-fitness level). I've found my machines can vary by up to 100+ calories a workout (depending on what I'm doing) so having a HRM or a Bugg can be really helpful

You know I use the elliptical as my indoor cardio go to when I cannot get outside to walk or jog. I have the Zumba dvd collection and have set a goal to use it more often along with the XBox 360 Kinect fitness games to keep my body guessing. I am hoping to get my fitness level back up since I slacked off with my workouts during the past few months and can see the negative results. Time to move forward in small steady steps.

I've been told to reduce the calories readout by 10% and that's a more accurate elliptical readout.

I would not be without my elliptical most mornings and other mornings I love doing Zumba which is not as heavy going as the elliptical, but still a great workout. On an average I do 5 mornings elliptical and 2 mornings Zumba.

A bit of variation is good for the body too so I make sure there is ST in the weekly mix.

I'm not sure how accurate the reading are, but I from experience that ellipticals provide a great workout. I sweat like crazy and can easily push myself with no stress on my joints. I find it gets a little boring everyday though so I change it up with DVD's when I can.

I love ellipticals! If you aren't getting a good enough workout adjust the incline & resistance to make it harder...also changing things up is good. I use different programs or go backwards every other 5-10 minutes...but I love Zumba too so I would say why not do both...as long as you are moving you will burn those calories!

I have also heard that the readings (ex. calories burned) on the elliptical don't have enough years of research behind them to be as accurate as something like a treadmill, but it is still a great cardio workout and easy on your joints. Find some music with a good pace, and you're almost assured of a good workout. Pay attention to how you feel after the workout--if you have those post-workout endorphins, you're doing it right! ;)

I recently bought an elliptical and I find it very great! But someone told me the readings are not accurate, so I started to do 2 miles in 15 minutes! Is this really a good way to exercise or should I just stick withe aerobic dances!???

Please do help!

Thanks in advance!
