Lanniex: In class we rotate through 10-11 stations. Some are cardio like riding on the spinning bike or sprinting on the treadmill. Some are weight machines like the leg extension or leg press machine. Some are free weights like shoulder presses with dumbbells. At random intervals we all have to drop and do pushups, jumping jacks or mountain climbers. All of these little station intervals last 30 seconds (unless someone is slow and we have to do 40!) Then we might go outside and do lunges and run around the building. We follow up with core.
I think that Cathe Friedrich's circuit training videos are pretty comparable (Boot Camp, Low Impact Circuit, Terminator and a host of others). She has videos and mixes where you do one minute of cardio, one minute anaerobic cardio, one minute upper body, one min lower body...repeat. I feel like this is sort of the same thing. I just like the class environment at times because I never know exactly what we will do.

Today was my 2000 calorie day. When I am with hubby I always eat more. So I let myself have one day to eat whatever. I still keep tack and try to make healthy choices but I don't feel guilty for doing it if I can stay in range the other 6.

VillageCrone: I love taking different classes LOL! I try things every now and again to shake things up because I mainly do video workouts at home. Fast Twitch is a circuit training/boot camp class. They call it fast twitch because we do fast 30 second weight sets where we really rep it out. Fast twitch muscle fibers are associated with explosive power, speed, etc (like a sprinter vs a marathon runner). Not a body physiology expert so I may be explaining it wrong!
Pole dancing class is awesome! It is a great core and upper body workout. It requires so much strength to do even the basic spins that we are learning. My arms are so worn out when I'm done with class. I absolutely love it.

YIPPEE!! After almost 5 weeks of resting, my doctor gave me the green light to start working out again!! So I am happy to report that all October I have done well with drinking at least 8 glasses a day, if not more! So for October 1 thru October 21 = 8 glasses every day but no crunches or cardio.
October 22: 9 glasses water, 20 minutes elliptical, but 0 crunches
October 23: 9 glasses water, 25 minutes elliptical, AND 25 crunches!!
Stay tuned for the rest of the week!
