I'm right there with all of you guys. I started out at 167 lbs after my last pregnancy and it was obvious that I needed to lose weight. I am currently at 134 and trying deprately to get to 125 first before I continue on to 115. I just recently broke through a 2 month plateau that I thought would never end. Someone actually had the nerve to say to me that I looked fine and that maybe 136 was just what my body considered healthy. Hello?! I am 5'0" tall and according to BMI charts I'm still overweight. It makes me mad when people make comments like that. I'm not blessed with 7 extra inches that make 136 lbs. fine. That's why I love this group....everyone understands the situation.

why do people do that. When I dropped from 184 to 134 my mom started telling me I looked sick.HELLO!!!I felt like I had done the most amazing thing in my life dropping 50 pounds and she blew me out of the water with that comment. Not only did I improve my appearance but lowered my tryglicerides. My hubby says that once you start losing weight some heavier people just don't like being around your progress if they are not progressing as well.Any body else get comments like these?? cindi

Welcome!
Just want to dovetail VIVIANSB's comment about not needing to lose any weight. I can remember going to WW gotta be at least 10 years ago now at about 130lbs or so (not far from where I started THIS journey) and over my max weight for the military. I really got the 'you don't need to lose weight', 'you're already skinny' stuff. I was chubby and not very fit and not happy with myself. Didn't stay long with that. Here, on Sparkpeople, I've found my goals are accepted and supported and (ESPECIALLY in this group) understood. Keep up the good work! It's all relative....113 lbs on a 5'10" frame is thin....on me, it's still allowing for some meat, in the rear end, lol...

I know EXACTLY what you mean! We were away for the weekend and saw a group of people who have not seen me for over a year. I got a lot of compliments but the next comment invariably was, "Don't lose any more weight!" Even my husband complains that I'm "too skinny" and can afford to regain TEN to FIFTEEN pounds! AAAAAARGH!

Not happening!

Welcome to the team and also check out another group I belong to, called "You Don't Need To Lose Any Weight." Another fun group of like-minded ladies!

Welcome! I gained weight gradually, but I want it gone yesterday! Anyway, I started at 120, am currently 113, and my current goal is 107, but once I get there I think I'll probably change that to 102-104; it just depends on if I look the way I want to. I'm with you, I get so tired of being told I look fine! If your not short, you just don't understand!

Welcome to Spark and to the team :)

I also gained about 20 pounds in a year, which sounds so crazy when I say it outloud, so I know how that feels! Spark has really helped me change my lifestyle to a healthy one.

Good luck reaching your goals! :)

Ok, this is my 2nd day at SP.
(I kinda have an intro on my SparkPage)
Can I just say, WOW!!! There is a Petites Team?!?!?!
I didn't use to call myself petite, I was SHORT (5 feet Nothing). Til I lost my weight, then I felt PETITE.
But.....I gained 29 lbs back (shame) in one year.
ONE year!

I always felt funny griping about my lbs because it sounds like no big deal to most people. No one understands that 10 lbs /looks/ like 20lbs on those of us who are height-challenged.

WOW....a place where I don't feel funny saying I have to weigh 110 lbs.... I go on to explain the BMI chart (the whole height/weight thing) and I get scoffed at because I look "fine".

I don't want to be "fine" I want to be healthy AND look GREAT!

I'm still lurking around but I'm so gald I found ya'll

Q&A what is ya'll's Start#/Current#/Goal#'s?
