I'm on the same boat! I am 5'1 and size 32D. Slowly but surely, companies began to stop selling 32D bras and now I am stuck! I am always recommended to wear 34C's, but that size does not fit me snug enough around... so in turn, I either have to wear my old 32D bras, or good ol' sport bras.

Anyways, as for bathing suits.. I can't find any one peices that fit... If I have it fit my top, it won't fit my bottom and vice versa...so I have to buy two-piece separates. I never get to complain about it, friends always give me the "Ohh poor you, you have boobs" ---but they can be a hassle!!!!

__
Oh yeah, and point being from the earlier post: In high school I was about 20 to 25 pounds heavier...and my chest size was the same. No matter how much I gain or lose, my chest size never changes either.

Gap and Old Navy sell pants in a couple of lengths also. I know that at 5'a I always buy short when I can. It is such a pain when you find capris though because (for me anyway) they almost always go to my ankles. As for shirts, I stay away from button ups. Even when I am thin, I have a 36 C chest. Currently it is a 36 DD and a huge pain in the butt.

It's great to hear you guys talk about things like clothes and sizes. People think that it's so much easier for us shorties to buy clothes, but I know how difficult it is. I was once in tears inside of a Department store dressing room because all of the jeans were too long for me. I am not petite and I am not regular. I am somewhere in between

Levis have short lengths in most of their jeans. You can usually buy them at most department stores. I also like Lucky Jeans, but I think they are probably only in major cities, plus they're expensive.

Not that I know of. There is a department store that has petite sizes, but the clothes that they sell is matronly, and I'm only 25. My favorite clothing store is American Eagle but there isn't one here so I order my jeans online. I hate not being able to try stuff on before I buy.

HEATHERSLOVE - have you got a store with petite sizes? If mine aren't petite, I have to do a helluva lot of hemming; I bought a pair of capris at a thrift store recently, but they went to my ankles LOL.

My dad always used to say he was going to sue the city for building the sidewalks too close to his butt. My brother looks about 6'1" or so when he's sitting, but as soon as he stands up he's 5'11". We have short calf lengths. Sigh. It sucks that I, the shortest person in the family, inherited that particular trait!

Before I got pregnant, I was a 34A. After gaining 52lbs with pregnancy and after I quit breastfeeding, I went down to a 36B. Now I'm a 36A.

I HATE shopping for pants because not only am I short, but I have short legs. There aren't any stores around here that offer different lengths in jeans or pants. Seems like everything is made for 6' tall women.

I'm built like you! Just under 5'3", 34A, when I was heavier I was a B cup... I miss my B cup!

I'm pretty leggy, so I can usually wear "short" or "petite" pants, but finding shirts is impossible. Small shoulders, flat chest, wide ribcage, high hips! Nightmare.

My friend and I are opposites - she is 5' and has 34HH (yup, you read that right) and I'm 5'3" and have 34A (when I was fatter, I was larger than 38 - extenders - and a B). Damn that I had to lose it up top! Even if my friend loses a bit more weight, she'll still have to buy bras that cost a fortune. When we were young (we've been friends since junior high), we used to joke that we needed to trade some of my butt for some of her boobs.

It seems no matter how much I lose, my cup size remains the same. The band size is getting smaller, and I know the cup size is relative to the band size, so I am obviously shrinking, but I'm always a DD.

I am 5'1" and went from 148 and size 12 to 120 and size 8. My top went from a 38 D to 34 C. I was so glad I lost some in my chest area...I was always between a 32 and 34 C until I gained my weight and then my chest grew. I was always uncomfortable with the extra size up top (although it balanced out the growth of the hip and waist area...)

It is going to take a while to get over the death of your mom, so give yourself some time. Size 12 is nothing to be ashamed of. I long to be a size 12 again. I don't expect to wear the same sizes I did in high school because even without being hypothyroid, my metabolism would have slowed down by now because of my age. Believe it or not, I wore a size 9 for my prom and I wore a size 5 at one point in high school too. I think that was in my sophomore year when I was marching with the band on the flag team so I was definitely active then. My last grandparent died July of 2005 and I still get sad over her. I was pretty close to her. Just give yourself time.

emoticon I am in between 5'2 and 5'3, I weigh 154/155 as of today. This nightmare started right after Mom died Jan 15, 2007 due to my depression. I am also on medication for that. Without my knowledge and "out of mind" state I gained 12 lbs. I wear size 12 clothes and 36B which I think is perfect (I prefer it small). Anyway, I am here to decrease by BMI to 24 and my goal is 130 pounds. I will do what it takes to achieve that. I have a very supportive family that helps me all the way!!

Ugh, I sooo know how you feel. I'm 5'1" and super top heavy (36D). I'm also slim in the hips and thighs (size 6/8 pants) so I look so out of proportion. No button-down shirts or tank tops here. It's a pain to find any top that fits. I made it down to 127 once, but my boobs only shrank half a cup size. I guess I'll just have to learn to live with the girls.

While I have to say that I have never had an issue with my bra (32 B), I find that pants are a pain. I have a small waist and full bottom. Needless to say, nothing fits "right"...

I will never give up... I will just keep searching for my diamond in the rough.

Thanks for the advice. I am just afraid I will never get as small as I would like because of my chest size. It is so frustrating. I am going to really check out this website.

I know exactly what you mean. What do those companies think? Do they think that women with fuller busts automatically have more money all of a sudden just because we are bigger on top? How does that add up? There are a lot women big on top that can't afford to pay more. They are just taking advantage of us and think we are going to be stupid to pay that much for a bra. I want to cry too when I go bra shopping. I want to even more when I shop for sports bras. Obviously they think that women who are big on top don't deserve well supporting sports bras to work out in. I found a website that sells lingerie, bathing suits and workout clothes for plus sizes (at least on top anyway. You can check it out. You don't have to be plus all over to fit them. It's mainly geared towards plus on top.

Here it is: http://www.alwaysforme.com/95cambra1x6x.ht

I hope this helps!

This is weird. I'm a 34DD, but I don't have any trouble buying tops. I can even wear button downs. I can't really figure that out except that I small o n my upper body, other than my bra size. My thighs are my problem. I have a small waist, so I usually am a size bigger in my thighs than in my waist.

I'm a 38 DD and once lost 4 stone in 2 weeks (stomach bug and tonsilitis at the same time, so if I managed to swallow any food it came straight back up again)

I ended up looking like a barbie doll and joked I would never break my nose because if I fell over I'd bounce straight back up again with the internal airbags.

I have noticed as I am losing weight very slowly (aiming for 1lb a week at the most) I have lost a little on the bust area, but I will always be big

Before I finally developed these big girls, I thought I wanted them sooo bad. Can,t tell you how many times I chanted you must, you must, you must increase your bust.
Well, with age and time it happened and Lord do be careful what you ask for. I would love to go back to a padded bra and lose these hefty,s. I lose some wt. and the girls just keep on hangin in there and yeah, goin South with time.

I have the same problem with my bra size. i get frustrated with that most of all, because no matter what, it feels like I will never lose it in my chest even though my mom keeps insisting I will. I wear a 42 to 44DD. It just depends on how the bra runs and what week it is. It fluctuates so much, it's hard to tell what bras I can wear from one week to the next.
I know exactly how you feel. I feel like I am losing everywhere else little by little that I want to, but not in my bust.

Ok, I have tons of questions. I just started this yesterday when I found it on the internet. Well I am only five feet tall and currently wiegh 138. I want to get down to 120. My chest size is a 36D. I have lost this much weight before and I NEVER lose it in my chest....which is where I would like to lose it. I am a size 8 in the waist and I would like to get to a 4. I can't finding bathing suits, etc. I am just frustrated with clothes in general and my sizes. Does anybody else have this problem?
