Take advantage of the exercise room and pool while you are out. If anything it will ease your mind if you do have to eat in a restaurant where you have no control over what is added to the foods. What ever you do just enjoy the time away. It is great that you are planning ahead to avoid what you can. Have a fun time!emoticon

Take a cooler. All hotels provide ice. If you have a George Foreman grill you can use that to grill meat and veggies. We have also taken a crock pot to cook meals during the day so they are ready when we return to our room. For breakfast you can take boiled eggs or just go with a pbj sandwich or yogurt. Pre-make a salad in a container so melted ice doesn't get inside and go ahead and add the dressing so you don't have to take it with you. It is a good idea to take your own water bottles since the ones at the hotel will be very expensive.

A cooler is a good idea. I've done that before and pre-made stuff at home and stuck it in a cooler. Maybe some cheese sticks or cheese. Lots of fruit. Bagged salad. Sandwich fixings. They always have ice at the hotels, so keeping it cool is not a problem. Bring a few gallon and/or quart size baggies (sealed type) to keep the ice in. Cut up carrot sticks, celery, cucumber, etc.

How about peanut butter sandwiches. If you can find individual jelly packets that don't need refrigerated you can have PB&J. Before our last trip, my DH and I bought a medium-sized cooler. It worked well on the nights we didn't have a fridge. When we did eat out, we got things (like sandwiches) that could be put in the cooler and eaten cold later on that day or the next. You could go with canned tuna and/or chicken sandwiches if you have a can opener...

My parents used to bring the crockpot on vacation with us and would warm up cans of stew during the day while we were out.

It costs a lot of money to eat out.

DH and I are going out of town for 4 days in a couple of weeks. we thought we would have access to a microwave and a refridgerator in our room at the hotel where we are staying. I just confirmed that those are only available in the suites, which none are available when we are staying there. so, we will have a coffee machine and that is it. i have snacks planned that don't require refridgeration. I need ideas for meals, other than instant oatmeal, that we can take with us thta don't require refridgeration and aren't all packaged/canned things.

Maybe I just need to up the exercising those days????? A LOT??????????

Thank You
