I always thought that I was b/t 5'1" and 5'2". I was measured twice within the past year and learned that I'm actually almost 5'3". (I don't mind being short except when I'm standing next to a tall, thin woman!) Anyway, I was pleased to learn my real height b/c it meant that I didn't have to lose as many pounds! ha ha

My weight has been as high as 161 (in 1996) and as low as 102 in 2001 (b/c of stress not b/c I wanted to be scrawny and unhealthy- not to mention older- looking!!!). I feel my best between 110 and 115 pounds.

Good Luck to all of you beautiful ladies who are 5'3" and under! xo

I'm 5 ft even. Short but not petite. A nutritionist I once saw put my frame at med to lrg. According to her my ideal weight is 130 to 135 so that's my goal. Those BMI charts can go in the trash. I still have a long journey though. 40 lbs lost by next Sept. Here we go! By the way, my bf is 6'3. I have always seemed to go for the tall ones. Or do guys just like short girls? emoticon

5 foot 2 and 248lbs which is actually down from 277lbs the beginning of July this year. Too much weight for a small body. I had recently seen a photo comparing 150lb women ranging in height from 5ft2 to 6ft1 - what a difference a foot will make!

5ft 1.8in tall. My weight fluctuates between 145-150lbs. I'd like to get back down to 130lbs (what I weighed before my 6-yr-old twin daughters). They were full-term & full-sized (6lb 6oz & 7lbs 9oz). So my weight went up to 202lbs. Struggling to get back to the weight where I started, although I can actually fit those clothes from when I weighed 130lbs...Go figure. emoticon

Hi All,

I'm 5ft even. I'm weighing in at 143 these days and so not happy with that. I'm trying to get down to 120 which is a reasonable goal. At 37 I'm happy to not be 100 lbs. I did that in my high school years and then when I was in my late 20's. I love my curves and 120 is a better place for me.

I'm a 5 foot 2 shorty. Weight over 240 but am back to the Spark in hopes of dropping below the 200 mark eventually. I know it will take time and effort and I believe this time I am ready. Wanted to join a group of people that were around my height just so that I could have an idea of just what I might look like once the pounds are gone.

Hi all. :) I'm 4'8" tall and weighing in around 107lbs these days (have lost 12lbs, trying to get to 100 or so.) I wear a size 4 shoe (used to be women's size, now they've demoted it to a kid's size.) I'm glad I'm small though...my boyfriend is 6'3" and prefers short women. :P

I'm 5 ft 2 1/2 and find that I can't walk faster than a 19 minute mile. It frustrates me. When I walk that fast, I must be burning the same amt of calories that someone taller does when they walk a 15 min. mile. Just sayin'!

I'm 4 feet 10 inches and I'm 124.50 as of now. I am 66 years old; I will be 67 in December. What is the ideal weight for my heigth & age? Some calculations that are made are for a much younger age. I just want to be healthy. Spark people is the place to be for good health. I'm convinced!
I look forward to an answer of someone who knows.
Thanks, Janis emoticon emoticon

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

I learned something new today. Being short affects our ability to donate blood. I could donate whole blood only but height and weight were considerations for all other types of donation. I will continue to do my part and be grateful that there are others who can fill gaps caused by my vertical challenge.

I'm 5'0". I too have rarely been bothered about being short, except when it came to finding clothes that fit properly. Have to buy pants and dresses in petite size, and especially for dresses, there isn't as much of a selection as there is in regular sizes.

My height was never an issue with dating. One of the perks of being short, like I told my daughter (she's 5'1", says she's short but at least she's taller than I am!)

I'm 5' 1" and the shortest in my household. My husband is almost 6' and both of my sons are a little over 6'. My boys always thought they had done something when they caught up with me at around 9 years old! When I got married, I weighed about 105 lbs. and now I'm about 65 pounds heavier. My goal is to lose about 45 lbs., but I may change my mind when I reach that goal and want to go lower! I've always heard to figure what you should weigh for a woman is 100 lbs. for the first 5 foot and 5 lbs. for every inch over that! I don't know if this is true or not! Does this sound far fetched ? Something someone came up with I make us feel inadequate? I'm loving SP and am feeling very optimistic!

I'm 5' 1.5". Everyone in my family is taller. When I was young (many decades ago), it was an asset to be "petite". On the whole, though, the world seems to assume everyone is around 5'7" and build things accordingly!

I'm 5'1.5" (that half inch is important!), and the oldest of three. My next younger sister is 5'7" and my youngest sister is about my height but creeping taller. I'm definitely going to end up the shortest of my family.

My best friend is 6'3" so we look a little ridiculous when we go out!

5'2" on the outside and 6' on the inside emoticon

My tallest was 5' 3.5" ... not a good thing to loose that height.... working on bone density now!!
