In my case it depends on the day. I did not have internet access at the house and had to deal with a printer that was acting up so I did not get to putting the food in yet. I have a big range. There are times that I have under 800 calories and days that I have over 2300.

Onicam - I'm closer to where you are than the others.

My caloric range for losing was 1200-1500, and I aimed for 1350 with exercise. It worked well, despite all the ups and downs, here I am a year later, 40 pounds lighter, and my original goal is reached! I do still have a poochy stomach and I am so not where I want to be yet, but I need a new approach and it's time for me to start focusing on gaining muscle rather than losing weight. So I switched to maintenance mode, and now I'm supposed to get 1470-16?? without exercise, 1600-range if I do exercise.

I found out early on that prior to all these changes, I would actually not eat enough more often than anything. I had a lot of trouble in the beginning getting in even 1200 calories. I still have days where its a hassle. Then there are other days, mostly days I'm visiting friends away from home, that I eat over 2000calories a day! It's also harder for me to keep on top of my exercise while I'm away, due to simple lack of space at my friends house. (She lives with her parents, and her room is literally jam-packed with all her stuff. There is barely room to move around in there, let alone do any exercise.)

As hard as it is for me to get up into my calorie range sometimes, I can't imagine being limited to 1000-1200 calories! I know on the days I don't eat enough (1200+, at least) I am crabby and sometimes hungry (why I have trouble getting the food in, then, I don't know...), and often with a headache.

We are all short and strong women though! I know all of you can stick with it and get through it.

The Levi curvy cut 528 are great. The are low rise but not super low. Try them.

Summer....I highly reccomend you getting the metobolic testing done. It told me exactly where I needed to be to lose weight and to maintain. It has been exact. The YMCA used to have hospital come in and do testing twice a year but now they own a machine and do it themselves. It was the best thing I ever did. As much as you are exercising, you may still need to eat more ?

Wear you heart rate monitor all day. See how many calories you burn during the day and be sure to eat less 500 calories daily. I did it for a while and it worked well. Days I worked out and burned more calories, I'd eat more, but always keep it 500 less than I'd burned.

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.

4'10.5" and going through menopause here. I exercise 6 days a week...run 10 miles/week, spinning on Mondays, Kickboxing on Wednesday, boot camp on Thursday and strength training 3 days a week. I can eat 1100 calories and the scale doesn't move. I can eat 1500 and the scale doesn't move. Very frustrating and I'm not about to be going below 1100 because I'll become very, very cranky. At kickboxing last week, I wore my heart rate monitor. After class, the instructor asked me how many calories I burned. When I told her 390, she said "Is that all"?? How discouraging.

have you tried low rise or hip huggers? They are not just for youngsters!

Honestly, they remove that if it fits at the hips, it will not at the waist problem.

I fought not wearing them and someone made me try on a pair and what do you know, I loved them. Now I can't stand to wear pants (jeans) at the waist.

I'm about 5'3/4" used to be 5'1 3/4". Loosing height as I get older.

Due to medications, I have gained 28 pounds. I'm working on getting rid of some (All of It) part of these pounds. It is very a hard fight. If I'm careful with my fluid intake (hard to get 8 glasses in) and really be careful with sodium, I can loose a little. If I can keep that off, then a little more. Managed to get rid of 4 pounds this way.

A never ending story.....! Plus all the other problems. I'm well built. Large bust, tiny waist and large hips and thighs.

I used to be able to get a relaxed fit in jeans and just hem and maybe sneak the waist in a bit. NOW... if it fits at the hip I need to take the waist in about 4 inches; the leg needs to have 3-4 inches cut off. I'm so tired of altering clothes.

My size is anything from 6 to 12. Depends on the design and the company who makes it. This is more than my $0.10 worth.... Lol

Looking forward to seeing more of my Grandchildren at their Christmas break. Happy Holidays!

I'm with you there too - I'm bang on 5' ... I must sort my calories out once and for all.

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

The fourth glass of wine is always a good idea before you do it and a really bad idea afterward! ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Yea...finally after 40 years and the invention of the straightening rod I also like my hair . ;) .

I could soooooo eat 2500 calories a day. lol . I used to consume 3-4000 without gaining for real. Most was crap food, but you know how that is. The days I am very active (zumba day) I find I do eat a lot less though. I just wish my gym wasn't 20 minutes away. Takes to much time out of family time in evenings for me to go in evenings. I work out on my two days off but know I'd do better working out more.

I am 5 ft. 1 and a half, so I know about needing to climb up on stuff. The more you exersise the more you can eat. I am supose to eat 1410-1760. It is not easy for me to go into my range. Sometimes I am less than 1000 and other times I am over 2000.

Yea...we all have same struggles, I'm just glad mine isn't on every front cover in the news stands! It isn't easy for anyone that has weight issues. That is the fact. The older I get, I feel the pain in the joints more. My elbows wear out faster than anything believe it or not.

We take what we are given and hopefully make the best of it. We can always dream about the trainer and cook, but can you imagine the size of her fridge ??? How much junk food she could stash in her house ??? LOL

Another gripe... 'average' person burns 100 calories a mile when running. I only burn 86.

As for Britney Spears... What you said about a chef and a trainer was what I always thought in relation to Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart and Kirstie Alley. But when you think about it, the fact that they are overweight proves that even with all of their advantages, nobody can make anyone successful at weight loss and fitness unless that individual puts in the time, dedication and effort.

I feel your pain, sister! I really do!

You know what else sucks? Being petite, over fifty and past menopause. If I don't stay on the lower end of my caloric scale, I will gain weight, even with exercise. That's 1200 calories per day. I've also discovered that I need daily cardio. Before menopause, I didn't! And as if that weren't bad enough, I have a little less stamina these days, which means that hitting the gym is more of a challenge.

But, it is what it is! I will go down fighting and no doubt, so will you!

5'2" you lucky dog. I am signing up for that cook and trainer and I'm sure the house cleaner and screw this sitting behind a computer doing accounting type junk all day. Your grib is well taken but just a little short :D. I thing people like Britney and Kelly osborn work out more than the biggest loser people. Now if I had nothing else in the perfect world I could knock off those last pounds but I have to work, pay bills, cook, clean, laundry, shovel snow with DH, Driveway to small for a blower. Something about wasting fosel fuels. Did I include dishes, shopping. The last I checked if I don't buy it, it doesn't appear in my house. (Now how am I going to explain that ice cream that showed up the other day.) All this gripping I need ice cream.
Now lets look at the stars that have all that ane their buts still look like the side of the barn. They gain it they lose it they gain it back they go into rehab and lose it then they make the tabloids.
Hell must be rough to be rich and have nothing to do most of the day but work out. When was the last CD britney put out? So she does a cd and then needs to go out and promot it so she does a crash diet and has someone spray tan on a 6-pack. No kidding I heard of this the other day. I need a cag spray tan. I think I am off the subject so I will be on that tread milll in the morning not like this morning. 4: AM and there was no way I was getting out of that bed. I kept telling myself it's not worth it. I feel guilty right now, Maybe it was the nachos I had last night. Screw it all, I am back to being healthy. It is worth it. Yes I am a 1200 person too. If I was 7 foot and 400 pounds just think of all the food I could eat. Now that is just stupid talk I would rather be 5 foot and clost to my goal.

I feel you. I'm only 4'10.5". Go ahead and gripe. Sometimes it helps ;-)

First of all....I've never had any issue with being 5'2" really. Hey....I could date any guy I wanted and he always felt "manly".

Anyway.....it's not that I have to climb on top of kitchen counter to retreive stuff from top of kitchen cabinets.....it's this stupid calorie counting. My metabolism with my size (PER DOCTOR w/ METOBOLIC TESTING) to loose weight, I have to eat 1000-1200 calories daily to lose. I can do it, done it before (ok, just a lot of spinach and healthy low calorie foods).

Sometimes, just sometimes though I see people griping about having to stay under 1700 calories for a day !!!! REALLY ?? I have to have 1200-1645 to just maintain my weight. Do they realize that they can even eat all there veggies and fruits but if I do it actually throws me over my calories and I don't loose weight.

Oh well. Just need a moment to gripe and I figured that many on this site might just understand . And yes, I do strength train and I know the entire muscle burns more calories, yada, yada , yada. I'm only about 6# from my original goal and stronger than I've ever been.

Heard radio personal bragging about Britney Spears and how she had to follow a impossible diet of 1200 calories to get back into shape again (all I could think of was with a personal trainer and cook, it would be super easy !!!)

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.
