I love my ht. my hubs is 5'6 and he always wished he was taller than I tell him he was made just for me! I am almost 5'1 and that's tall for our family! I am one of the few who made it to 5foot! My oldest daug is almost 4'10 but alittle spitfire. She is an emer rooom RN and loves working in trama. What an athlete! She made varsity softball and tennis team as a freshman and was a starter! My middle daughter is the tallest . 5'4. She towers over all of us in photos and her and my my hubs wear the same size shoe. Most women in our fam are 4'11! I never minded being short, the only weird thing is do you notice friends talk babytalk to you sometimes?? weird! If hemming pants is my only prob. than i consider myself lucky!!! ~Maci~

Cynthia - Love to hear about your German grandma. I had a tiny Sicilian grandmother. I doubt she made it to 5 feet and she was already shrinking by the time this little leaf sprouted on the family tree. If she was patronized with "all good things come in small packages" she'd reply, with deadly earnest tone and the evil-eye ... "and so does poison." I can still hear her laugh. Oh, I do miss her.
80% of me says no way. Life is grand! * We can get away with more. We are so very memorable! * More dating options: I can date tall or short guys (well, not anymore, I'm married, but you know what I mean, ha ha). * I'm not short, I'm fun sized!
20% - well, perhaps I would like the perks of having an added 10"... * higher pay the taller you are. * More places to hide extra pounds. * I presume clothes shopping would be much easier. And cheaper. Not so many alterations/hemming. (I hate hemming!)
I like being short... fortunately I am not under 5' so I don't get things too badly, but there are things that short people can do that tall people can't... The same is true in reverse! If we didn't have all different kinds/sizes of people in the world then it would be a VERY boring place!!
I would be happy to be 4-5" taller, but I'm not upset that I'm so short. I have a step stool now, but my BF needs it too to get to the spice rack so I don't feel bad.
Being shorter means you and ride smaller horses! Or make average sized horses look huge! A selling point.
Thanks for the link, will have to check it out. I have found Kohls is no longer my friend once I hit below a size 4 as the Jr's thighs are certainly not my thighs! But Old Navy has lower sizes with *normal* size thighs! pfew
1. The taller you are, the more you're allowed to weigh. Another couple of inches of height (you know, 16 or 18 of them!) and my weight would be WAY less of an issue.
2. Most of the clothes I really like are designed for much taller people. I don't mind longish skirts. I do mind walking on them. Of course, I don't particularly like walking on the JACKETS either! LOL!
3. I wouldn't be expected to wear platform shoes and/or high heels. Ever. Especially not to reach the gas and break pedals in the car.
4. I wouldn't have to worry about how straight the part in my hair is!
My personal worth has nothing to do with my abdominal girth!
I would not. I do think I make some of the employees at the grocery store nervous when I climb on a shelf to reach something.... I am 65 but a young and agile 65.
I have step stools all over the house so I can reach and I do hate that a lot of clothing lines seem to think if one is not tall we might like doodads, ruffles, sashes etc. Heck I gave up sashes when I was 8 I think. But if you are short you sure can get away with stuff because everyone thinks you are cute.
I am excited to go on the link. You would not believe what I have to do to some shoes to make them fit. Usually the smallest size any store has is a 6 and there are usually only two pair I think. If I see a cute pair and the display size is larger than a 6 I pretty much know I won't get those shoes.
I'm from Middle Georgia. And it finally feels and looks like Fall here today.

Hellloo ladies. This is Cynthia from upstate NY ... I am a newbie. My little German grandmother (all 4'10" of her) made me believe ever since I was little that the best things come in smaller packages. Of course, being vertically challenged has posed some problems the older I've gotten but, I really like it down here. How about you?
I also wanted to share this really adorable blog I found that caters to the same concept with articles on fashion tips like how to find jeans that fit your body type, the best frames for your facial shape ... just info we all need to help make the right choices for our height. If you get a moment to put your feet up and relax, check it out. They even posted one of my articles AND wait until you hear this ... they sell shoes for us shorties sizes 2 ~ 5 1/2 ... and they don't look like little tykes shoes either ... beautiful boots, shoe boots and heels YIPPEE !!!! I'm too excited for words. Here is the link
