We take lots of pics. It was the pics this spring that made me relize that I had gained too much weight. I now have new ones and feel so much better. give it a try. DD

I want to be young in heart and body. Be the 65yr old granny in a bikini on a beach looking good. LoL

I take pictures of my tummy for motivation. It's a motivator for me to see my tummy flattening and myself looking more shapely.

I'm still not sure. Perhaps images aren't what I need?
I suppose I OUGHT to take a picture of me now... just so I can show it as the before shot when I have a good AFTER shot to show off....
Then I can decide whether or not to look at it...

I hadn't thought about motivating images but you got me thinking. The fat pictures and model pictures wouldn't work for me either. I think images that evoke a feeling might be better. Someone finishing a race, climbing a mountain, playing with their children, doing yoga etc... etc... or maybe a place you want to go like a resort or something that you would feel better doing when your in better shape.

NOBODY WILL DO IT FOR ME!!!!

Short term goal: 200lbs

The most important. You need to say I can do this and this will be me. You need to feel good about what you use. It could be of someone else( I want to be this size), a dress you want, bathing suit you want to wear. Anything that makes you say yes I can do it.

For myself pictures are not helpful. Seeing skinny people with airbrushed bodies send me straight to the drive throughs because it makes me feel hopeless. Seeing old pitures makes me feel like I failed becuase I am bigger now. Maybe you could fill out some order forms for clothes in the size that seems like a goal for you now and then promise yourself that you can send it in and get the item when that size becomes yours. Whatever you do, keep getting up when you fall down and you will get there eventually.

I don't really know. it's a reall conundrum. I wouldn't want a picture of me know, cause i know that would depress me and make me feel hopeless, and make me want to binge. the skinny pictures have a similar hopelessness... models aren't that usefull either.

perhaps try looking online for an image of someone who has a similar body type to yours but with less "excess baggage" or you could use one of the virtual models online to see what you'd look like at your goal weight...

or if you've got a reward planned for when you reach your goal, you could put up a picture of that...

I'm contemplating setting up a motivating image...
and I'm wondering...
is it better to get an image of now (e.g my definitely NOT flat tummy) to put where I can see it and be reminded that I'm getting rid of it (and perhaps even put images of the improvements as they happen)... I mean, right now, I manage not to see that unsightly tummy daily, so it's easy to ignore... perhaps SEEING IT daily will be a good motivator to make it go away --(or will that just be too disheartening).

Or images (if they're available) of me the way I used to look when I WAS in shape ... to show myself that I've been there and can be there again...
(though I guess I worry that I'll say -- sure, I looked that way at 20, but that was 25 years ago, and no one maintains that body, especially after kids?)

or images of strangers from magazines that represent goals? I kind of think that the skinny magazine shot will not be connected to ME enough.
