I am 5'1 and a 1/2 and Sparkpeople has me eating 1200-1500 a day. Right now I'm eating the higher end of that. I'm exercising between 30-45 minutes a day, walking and a little bit of strength training.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results. -Kenneth Blanchard
Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, and try to follow where th
over the thanksgiving weekend i actually underate...very high protein and about 1400 calories, 1700, and 1700 I ended up losing about 2 pounds during that weekend which is weird because my average is right around 1900 calories, so 900 calories wouldn't even yield a 1/2 pound loss so i'm thinking it was water weight.
i'm so shocked at how little people eat to lose.
since returning from that weekend i've been at 1800 calories consistently because i have a test tomorrow and haven't been working out as intensely. I've been doing the elliptical and strength training classes this week so my burn is a bit less.
Does 1800 to maintain seem low or high? just right? from your personal opinions. i've looked at calculators so i'm hoping for your PERSONAL opinions.
i am 4'11 and a bit under 100 pounds. my workout routine is usually... S: 75 minutes cycling plus 90 minutes walking M: 45 minutes cycling plus 90 minutes walking T: 45 minutes cycling plus 90 minutes walking W: jogging for 40-45 minutes on treadmill...usually about 5-6 miles 90 minutes walking T: jogging again for 40-45 minutes, 90 minutes walking F: jogging again 40-45 minutes, 90 minutes walking S: elliptical for 1 hour, 90 minutes walking
This week though S: 75 minute cycling, 90 minutes walking M: 45 minutes cycling T: jogging for 45 minutes W: 1 hr strength training class, 45 minutes walking T: 1 hr elliptical, 45 minutes walking F: 1 hr elliptical, 45 minutes walking S: 1 hr strength training class, 10 minutes elliptical, 140 minutes walking I've been eating 1800 calories this week, it's hard to tell if i'm maintaining because i get to bloated and my weight fluctuates a ton!
I'm 5'3", 27, and sparkpeople put me at 1200-1500. But what I actually consume is about 1500-2200 per day, with an average of about 1900. I'm struggling right now to consistantly get it to 1650 or less. I do an hour-long boot camp twice a week, walk about an hour 3-5 days a week, do a 2-4.5 mile jog twice a week, and also just this week added in an hour-long core class twice a week.

I am 5' and SP has me at 1,330 - 1,680 a day. My average is about 1300 give or take. Some days I'm closer to 1200 other days about 1400. I do not starve myself, but try to make healthy choices. I prefer to keep it at the lower end as I am not exercising as much as I did this summer as most of my exercise was power walking and the weather has put a huge damper on that!
I am 5'2" and 51 years old. My calorie range has been tricky for me to work out, and I'm still not sure I've got it right, but my weight IS falling - slowly - so I guess I'm doing something right.
My difficulty is that I run about 55 miles per week, but those miles are not distributed evenly every day. If I pretend that it IS even and estimate the calories per day, SP calculates that I need 1540-1890 per week.
On my 1 day off from running, even 1540 seems like too much and I try to stay under 1500. But on my 20 miler day, I have to eat a little extra, so I don't count the "fuel" that I bring with me on the run. Then there are the days in between when I might run anywhere from 5 to 10 miles.
Thank goodness for SP, because I was never sure how to handle the balance between my running and controlling my weight and I was overeating and seeing my weight creep up every year.
I'm 5'1 1/2". Spark has me between 1200 and 1500. I run 3 miles 3 times a week and do weights twice a week, try to have an active weekend day too (hiking, biking, etc). I just hired a professional nutritionist and she said for me not to worry about calories and not to count them. To be most concerned about lean protein, fiber and whole grains. I tracked her nutrition plan on my spark page and it comes up to about 1400 calories. I've lost several inches and 2 dress sizes in 3 weeks. (I don't have a scale so IDK that numbe)
