I don't think I can match the repititions just yet. Lol.
I've tried doing these with a pillow and can feel that muscles are working. I will gradually add more reps.

I agree....250 a day....wow! I like a lot of these ideas on here, I too have what I like to call Mary Lou Retton legs (they are strong but big). I would love to slim them down and tone them. Thanks for the suggestions.

Good luck on everyone's hard work!

I still wish my upper inner thighs were a little firmer or maybe what I want is my upper legs to be a little more shapely.

I do do the ball between my knees squeeze while seated, usually 250 every other day.

If you do sit ups, you can shape the inner thighs as well (not necessarily the knees) using a - surprise surprise - a medium soft ball between your knees.

Simply squeeze the ball with your knees every time you come up and relax when you go down.

Or when you watch telly, sit at the edge of the sofa and squeeze the ball between your knees.

You can play with the repetitions like slow and big squeezes/sit ups vs. lots of quick squeezes while your upper body is half raised and you do tiny movements at the end position

Thanks for all the great tips. My upper inner thighs are the only area that bothers me right now. I can't seem to get them tightened up as much as I would like. It's really frustrating.

Oh yes, I think running is the best for overall loss (since you cannot lose weight from a specific part of your body only overall) and running indeed shaped every part of my body and slowly but surly melts away the fat but for further shaping and tightening I like doing exercises like the one I mentioned.

so running gets three ticks already in the "how to shape your legs" column LOL

Oh the stair step machine is my fav as well but I think the way I do it most of the time shapes my calves and my bum mostly, it doesn't feel like it was shaping my knee though. I'm playing with the levels and the way I'm placing my foot, sooner or later I will find the inner thigh shaping position too.

I've read this "lunges and squats" (jessica alba workout) but I can't really picture it, I think I need to look it up here in the exercise demo store.

Edit:
another exercise at home - you need a soft ball not too big, not too small
Sit on the floor, pull your knees up so you are in a comfortable V position, your arms stretched behind you as support, ball is between your knees, try to squeeze it constantly with your knees; then lift one of your legs up (so it looks like the extension of your other knee) then lower it down. Repeat till you start feeling your knees and inner thighs then change legs.

If you don't have a ball a pillow would do too.

You can do this while sitting on the big yoga ball, you simply straighten your leg forward...

I agree with everything DragonFly said.

Running has helped toned my legs and butt. I am not a long distance runner yet so I do interval training or run sprints.

Lunges & Squats has helped give me a lot muscle as well.... if you have access to the gym a lot of the leg machines work. I used to love the thigh abductor (i think that is what it's called)

I run, while the rest of my body is taking its time to thin out, my legs look so much better. Maybe speed walking if you aren't up to running? I also do the full strength training regime. I know my biggest area of concern now is the fat under my arms, like back boob, ew. Since I started loosing weight, things aren't as tight and all over fat, so now I have problem areas instead of my whole body being 1 large problem.

Leg lifts should also help for inner and outer thigh. Just remember, cardio is important to get the outer layers of fat off so the beautiful tone you are creating underneath can shine through!

I'm 5'2" and I have short thick legs, like fat footballers legs LOL. My main goal this round is to shape them so I can wear skirts - any kind.

Recently I've discovered if I lift a big yoga ball with my legs (ball between your legs holding it with your knees, calves and feet, you're lying on your back, your arms spread out on the floor balancing you) that gives a great workout to my inner knees - my biggest problem area.

What is your favourite leg shaping exercise?
