I listen to a lot of different music when I workout, but some of the best songs come from musicals. One CD that I really like is from Legally Blonde the Musical. Some of the good workout songs from that are Omigod You Guys, Positive, So Much Better, Bend and Snap, Legally Blonde Remix, and my absolute favorite song to workout to on the CD is Whipped Into Shape. It has such a great beat that you can't help but to pick up the pace.

I put my Ipod on Shuffle and then skip anything slow that comes on.... at least until I'm ready for cool down! Some of the songs that I listened to today while working out were The Authority Song by Mellencamp, Stand by REM, Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, Time of My Life by David Cook (that one is sort of slow), Whatsername by Green Day...

For my cool down, I listened to Chasing Pavements by Adele, Prairie Town by The Wailing Jennies, and Knocking on Heaven's Door by Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Dolly Parton. :-)

Good stuff...

I need a hard, fast beat to keep me going. :) Here are a few that are good to kickstart me.

The Anthem - Good Charlotte
Boyfriend - Ashlee Simpson
Crazy in Love - Beyonce and JayZ
Don't Stop the Music - Rihanna
Love at First Sight - Kylie Minogue

Just a few. My husband's a dj so I'd really like to get ahold of his equipment and make a playlist based on BPM (beats per minute) to really keep my pace up.
Just need the time to do it!

I go for any variety of peppy kind of stuff. Into Maroon 5 lately. Always old school 80s pop. Even some of the boy band stuff, if it's got a good beat. We have an insane music library, so I throw all the upbeat stuff onto my ipod playlist. Then when I workout it's always fresh and something different popping on, but also a favorite. Keeps me going...

I like fast beat electronica and some industrial. The drums get me moving. I have also found that Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down keep me going!

This is an awesome thread!!!

My favorite workout disc is the O.C. Mix 5 -- it's got a lot of punk. I also love "Bad Medicine" by Bon Jovi and "Joyride" by Roxette. Those songs are just fun. Pink is also prominent in my track list . The Ipod is awesome because it's let me customize my mixes so I just have my faves.

I have many, but "She's a Hottie" by Toby Keith really should motivate anybody - country lover or not. :)

Check out PODRUNNER on iTunes. Nonstop, fixed-BPM, hour-long mixes from DJ Steve Boyett. A new mix every week, free downloads. I love what it does for my running!
