OMG-- there'd be a world war in my house over who got to help in the kitchen if I "borrowed" that chef of yours!!! Can't say you'd get him back though. I don't care what he can cook-- he'd be staying! emoticon

I experience that shopping too. They should divide the petite section: one side being for the tiny tinkerbells of the world and the other for us normal people! By the way, I absolutely LOVE your chef...can I borrow him? Promise I'll return him...sometime emoticon .

I have to weigh in on this one too. How about shopping in the Petite section which is supposed to be for short women? What they rally mean is skinny and not short! The petite size 14 which I used to wear was always way too big from waist to crotch and at least 5 inches too long, what's with that? Even now, at 123 I wear a petite size 6 if the pants are just below the waist, if the pants are on the waist then I have to go up a size. people say to me now, you don't need to lose weight! Undressed it's all blubber, thank goodness for clothes, right, even if they are sized wrong by the manufacturer! Obviously petites are not designed by anyone who is short and average build or even 10 pounds over average.

Pic is my personal Cook, cute, huh?

OMG I LOVE THIS FORUM! JoonMarie I have the SAME problem! People think 100 lbs or 102 lbs is "not a healthy weight" and that 1400 calories is "not enough"

I'm 5'1'' people! I don't NEED as many calories as a tall person!

This website is so much fun! I hope I stay healthy here ;)

I don't think I feel tiny because all my weight is in my middle. I look pregnant because of my shape. In fact, I have to get very thin, down to like 110 pounds, before the stomach appears sort of flat. It's just my genes because all the females in my family are sort of "round."

I have a long way to go to be tiny in anyone's opinion, however, I do completely understand. The only time I ever felt truly tiny and correctly proportioned for my height was my senior year of high school. Of course, I'd had a life threatening case of mono the entire summer and couldn't eat solids for like 3 weeks, not sure that was the healthiest way to lose weight... I think I've finally realized that is (hopefully) not ever going to happen again!

I'm 5' and 106.6 lbs at the moment. Everybody who sees me in clothes, say I'm thin, but if they should see me naked, they will know that I have more fat than they would ever imagine. I need to get rid of at least 10 lbs of fat to look decent on a bathing suit. Taller people don't realize that weight is proportional to height and frame. And 106.6 lbs for my tiny frame is 20.4% fat. Lean people have 15%. I may look tiny for some people, but I don't feel tiny at all!!

I'm Joon. I'm 5'.

I am a lot bigger than most of you on this thread but I wanted to jump into the conversation. Somehow I just grew an inch and I am now 5'2. I was never really small from high school on at least. I was average and happy with myself and the way I looked never over 115 lbs. Then I got sick and well I ended up gaining all of this weight in 3months. That is when I realized what heavy was. In high school the guy I was dating would say if I was ever 150lbs I would have to roll around because that would be so huge on my little body. Well I passed that some time ago and the thought makes me want to cry!

I feel that same way you all do. You wish you could turn off the switch in your brain and you wish you never saw what really big was for you. Unfortunately I will never be able to return to 110lbs I may not be able to get to 120 and that realization is the hardest. Not to be a downer with this post but I wanted to say I agree. My fiance says "if you could just grow a few inches you would be fine". If only!

I am the same way. I am a little over 5"1 and now weight about 109. When I 1st started to lose weight I was about 134 and felt gigantic, I was at 120 for a while and almost felt as if I hadn't even lost weight. Even now at 109 I feel like I could lose more but when I look at pictures of myself I look healthy. I carry my weight on the bottom so I am working on toning up now. When you are short it is amazing what just 3-5 pounds can do to you!

I agree for sure. I am 5"1 at 128 right now and I feel huge! I have not been under 120 since I was a teenager and honestly, I dont know if I can really do it.....I have a chest and no butt and a huge gut....those traits will never leave! I will just be pleased pink to get to goal weight 121 and then from there we will see! I have to agree, I get tired of people thinking I dont need to lose weight.......it is my body and darn it i want to be smaller! have a great weekend everyone!

I see myself in everyone else's post! I'm barely 5'0 and weigh 112 but I honestly feel huge compared to everyone else I know who is my size. My mom and a good friend of mine are my same height but both of them only weight 90-95 pounds. Standing next to them makes me feel horribly obese...especially in the "trunk" area. I'd love to have a skinny rear and legs like them but 105 is the lowest weight I can ever seem to reach and I still feel like a blimp compared to them. emoticon

I'm 5'2" and 119. I've been finding that I wear size 6 normally(lately) but last week, I fit in an 8, a size 4 and then a 10 ?? I never know what size to grab off the racks anymore !! I'm not a delicate thing, at 143# most people thought I was crazy to lose weight. I look better, feel great now, but when the fat goes, so does the boobs ! They went before the tummy started getting smaller. You can see the outline of my ribs now. I'd like to see me smaller, in the tummy area only now, toning up makes a huge difference now though, it's quit noticeable.

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.

I constantly feel huge. One of my really good friends is 5'8" and weighs about 120 and eveytime I give her a hug I feel like a huge fat monster that is going to break her in half. Also, another friend is about 3 inches taller than me and weighs about 20 pounds more than me, but she wears smaller pants than me--I have a big butt, I know. But it is really frustrating when someone not much taller than me wears smaller pants than me and she weighs 20 pounds more. emoticon

I feel fat almost all of the time too. Most people who I meet say that I should gain weight though. Wouldn't it be nice if the human brain came with an off switch?

I feel that way too, like I will never be "tiny" enough. I am trying to get past this but it is so hard. Like someone else said...the perception that everyone gets from Hollywood is that we need to be perfect, cute, tiny and petite. I just wish I could get to what is comfortable for me. right now I know hta tI am not at my "right weight" because the way my body feels. And I have bigger hips so that just sucks as well! :o)

Well, YES!!! My mother is height challenged as well (around 5' give-or-take an inch - like me) and she get under my skin so bad. She is about 95 lbs and 60yrs old. She complains that she has to shop in the little girls dept. and can't find anything mature looking.

Once in a while she'll say how little she eats in conversation (the last was how she wanted a thermos for work to sip soup all day since she doesn't like to eat a meal. ONE SOUP FOR THE DAY?!?!?!?!) and I have to bite my lip to keep from making remarks. She lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 yrs. I used to mention to her that her lowest ideal is 108. What if she gets sick ya know? Shes a smoker.

I feel enormous in the same room as her but I know she isn't healthy and that's my goal. I used to want to be like her (eats whatever she wants just not a lot or very often) in order to think and eat like a thin person. But that puts me into starvation mode. I want a normal relationship with food and be satisfied at my goal and stay there this time!

So, I have mom-issues but I also work with ppl who are mostly all thin (and young). I look at them with envy constantly. I really zone in on the shorties though since being small in height can really distort the image on the scale. I usually try to bring up weight/diet to sneak in the number question if I can which is another reason why I LOVE THIS TEAM! It puts the height/number thing into perspective.
I wish y'all had more pics up though. I tried to take "before" pics in the bathroom mirror and they come out looking gross.

I'm 4'11 and had some bad issues when I was younger about not being thin enough.I was happy if I was 95 lbs,but that just wasnt healthy for me.Not to mention the fact that before I was pregnant I had never been past 110 lbs,so therefore I never really knew what FAT on me looked like till then. Im happy with myself now that I know what it felt like to really look chunky!!!!!

I definitely feel this. I have a younger sister who is my exact height but weights only 100lbs. She has a tiny frame and I have a heavier frame (like my mom I guess). Growing up, she was always my constant reminder of my weight issue, even when I was at my lowest weight of 117.

Everyone sees me as Medium built so they think my weight is ok. I am 5'1" which I don't think of as anything but small.I am fortunate to carry my weight all over so I don't really looks as big as I am.Maybe it's my down fall too because I am the only one who sees how fat I am.

Yes, it is all about perception---for many years I was 5'2" and 105 lbs, then in 2000 I was 115 pounds and still not too unhappy about the number..now I am about your exact weight and feel like i'll never lose it--i am wearing a 6(barely) and it is a big problem for me--i feel very heavy and also "stuck".
When i weighed 105, 115 and now, what I ate isn't very different.

I never feel tiny enough! I'm only 5 feet even.. and weigh 156.8.. Even when I was in high school and weighed 115 I felt I wasnt small enough.. I know I have a pretty small frame.. I wear a size 4 1/2 ring and my shoes are a size 5 1/2 -6.. and I also can wear size 4-5 in little kids shoes.. So Right now my goal weight is 120 but I would truely LOVE to get down to 100.... and be back into the size 3 jeans....

I am 5'1" and my goal is 125 lbs. On me anything less would make me look like an anorexic stick. 00 is not even a gaol I would dream of wanting. I do think that sized are misleading though. They have changed a LOT. What used to be a 12-14 is now an 8 it seems. Makes it confusing when they are not consistant.

Hi I have a large frame and when I went down to my frist goal of 110, man I felt tiny but boy I looked like CACA, my upper half is where I lose the most weight, so in order to be small on the bottem, I looked annie on the top half[know what I mean?] So this is weird even at my current weight I [well most days] don't feel BIG it was my thinking that I had to have lower numbers on the scale to be happy, and now I know that it's not the numbers it's what I see in the mirror that makes me happy, feel tiny you name it! Right now with being sick[forever & aday] I just want to get back to doing my walking dvd to tone back up again! emoticon

I feel this way often as well. I have a larger mass...lots of muscle and bigger bone structure...than most people my size and I worry that I will never be thin enough. I know that it is obvious I need to loose weight now but sometimes I feel like I can never get to where a lot of people my height are and I will never be happy. What I switch my focus to is being strong. Some girls might be smaller than me but if we have to throw down I have no worries about who will win! emoticon

I KNOW I feel like this. I am short waisted so all my weight tends to stay around my belly area. I will never have a really tiny waist--if I did I think my ribs would be sticking out, because I can tell my ribcage is wider than some people and I have no butt which makes me feel a little disporportioned
I do feel huge sometimes and everyone tells me I am tiny. It's funny how we see ourselves.
I agree with Irish Angel, focus on health. Very important!!!

I get that way sometimes. Doesn't help that one of my close friends at work is about the same height as me and a size 00...yeah, they make double 0! I think the celebrity image has a lot to do with it too...at lot of the "hot" women in Hollywood are shorties and super thin...Nicole Richie (pre-preg.), Kelly Rippa, Eva Longoria...it does perpetuate the notion that shorties should be itty bitty.

I just try to focus on what's healthy for me and what looks good on my frame.

I know that there has been a lot of posts about body size and ideal weight... Being shorter, I find that people always assume that I should have an itty bity waist and tiny hands/feet...ect. Currently I am 5'2" (doubt that my height will change) and 126 pounds. While I know its not "fat" (I wear a size 4!), I feel "fat", like I should be smaller than this.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I will never give up... I will just keep searching for my diamond in the rough.
