Hi Coupon Clippers Group,

I accidentally stepped into a (what looked like) a convenience store near a trolly station and gad. There was nothing available but mostly all sugar products and very neatly packaged lunches all processed foods and fatty.

I had to think about why I was shocked. It's because for about a year I have been shopping for grocery and deli type meals at whole foods markets and such. The products all have such a distinct theme. It's like the whole foods places get it, people are trying to be more health conscious. Even the whole foods sweets are on the healthy side, made with fruits and nuts and things.

I can tell you, that is not going to happen again. I was repelled and hopefully won't be looking for coffee in a convenience store anytime soon. LOL.

To relate it, I went to a fast food place cause I had a coupon, 2 for $3. And it was lunch time, then I was quickly disappointed that one of my favorite childhood fast food places was not up with the times. They did not have free wifi. I almost did not use the coupon and was going to wait to go across town but, too hungry and liked the price, So this morning I called to complain to their marketing person that it's time to get up with the times. Yes, I do make waves when I feel the need. I am hoping they will change so I can start going back there more frequently.

I sometimes get SmartSource in my Saturday paper, but not many coupons I can use.
I think I get more online at Coupon.com or CouponMom.com, that I can use.

I'm just getting started couponing. So far I've gotten some good deals off Ebay, found a couple in magazines and got 1 from a client. I've signed up at Krazycouponlady.com and CouponMom.com.

My current obsession with couponing is Ebay. I have been CLEANING UP lately because I can buy only the coupons I want for the store sales that are currently going on! Roughly $1-3 dollars for 20 like coupons...but I only buy them for deals that I'm getting for free or close to it! Today I just picked up 20 Suave deodorants for .30 each (tax included)...$1.99, bogo, bought 20 .75/1 coups off of Ebay for $1.20...so really, .36 for each. But that extra .06 was TOTALLY worth it because I didn't have to spend any time accumulating or clipping...I just clicked and waited for them to show up in the mail!

If you are interested in trying this...I suggest taking a look at your store(s) of choice's weekly deals on a couponing site (I like southernsavers.com, but there are TONS of others) as soon as it is posted. (SS posts usually 1-2 days before the sale starts). I order the coupons that night to give them plenty of time to get to me before the sale ends, then I shop!

I love CVS for their dollar program etc.

Get their CVS card, by the way, there are two different types of cards.

When you go into the store, look for the big red coupon machine and scan your CVS card, it will spit out coupons for you. The machine is located in different places in their stores.

Sign up for emails when you register your card online. They send great coupons in the email and through the mail.

I have saved $80 in one week before.

Today we walked in, scanned the card and got a 20% off coupon as well as other coupons. CVS allows you to stack the coupons. When we get a 20% or 25% off coupon, we go through the entire store and find what we need or what is already on a good sale. Then we get it and save a lot of money.

Did You Know May 29th is National Coq au Vin Day? Coq au vin or (a.k.a. chicken in wine)

Have you ever tried this?
Do you have a recipe for this?
How do you make yours?

I have never had this recipe. I have never even heard about this recipe before today. But I do like chicken & wine. I do know that some recipes do call of meat, poultry or fish to be soaked in wine for added flavor & to help make them tender.

Hello & good luck all new comers. I hope you all like it here. I know I do. I wish you guys all the luck with your goals. To anyone who lost wieght. Thats AWESOME. SO proud of all of you. But if you gained a pound. It's ok your still AWESOME. You will do it next time. Your all awesome beautiful & spceial. WooHoo go team. But as for me.....

This week is not looking good. This is why I haven't been chatting much in my groups. My left knee is still hurting, but today there was a crunchy feeling today. Then my left arm as this numb tingly feeling. I tried to take the pain but I couldn't. I ended up going to the E.R. I wasn't there long. I got 3 x-rays each of my knee & arm. Nothing is broken. But the numb in my left arm is due to a deep bruise when I fell. I might have pulled a mussel or a ligament in my knee. It all should heal in a few days to a week. I do have an appointment to see my doctor next week. Back in the 90's I already had 2 knee surgerys on the same knee. So that's why i try to be very careful & worry about my left knee.

But on a good note. This week I have been doing sit ups or as they say "Crunches". I have always hated sit ups but I gotta do something to stay on top of this diet & this time around. I did 20 sit ups yesterday. Not bad but getting better.

Starting today I decided to weigh myself every day for a week.
As far as coupons go, i bought some on another website, for $3 it is so worth it for 100 food only coupons. Preparing my list for next month. logging my food intake daily. logging my weight daily. I need to start reading the motivation that is available on this site. Used to do it regularly. Today going to walk 2 miles.

Well I was having a great week. I burned all the calories they said I needed to. I only went over my daily food intake once. I stayed away from my food weakness RICE for 6 full days. Then last night I fell, twisted my left ankle & banged my left knee. It didnt hurt that bad until I got up this morning. Then I couldnt take it, so I went to the Urgent Care. They gave me good news & bad news. Good news is nothing is broken cause I can still walk. Bad news is I badly sprained my left ankle & twisted & Banged my left knee. They said I need to use ice & heat on it & let it rest for afew days to a week. They said it should heal in a week or I have to go back if it doesnt. I just starting week 2 & I cant exercise the way I did last week UGH. Looks & feels like I take 1 step forward & the world knocks me back 2 steps. Well nothing I can do but use ice & heat & let it heal. But on a side good news. They weighted me in & I lost ONE pound. Woohoo ONE pound down & 49 more to go... emoticon

If you email some of the companies and tell them you use their products and which ones you really like, you often will get a reply and offer you a coupon. I have done this. Going to their websites and their authorized FaceBook pages is another way to get coupons. Just beware there are sites with phishing and spyware - be sure to update your computer protection.

Speaking of which, some banks on their online sites offer discounted anti-spyware protection.

I watch the mail inserts for coupons to restaurants or for fast food. We try not to eat out much, but if we have to we might as well use coupons to save. My husband is a truck driver so if he has to stop I send him with coupons to the restaurants I think he may stop at. Today there were coupons for pizza hut, weinersnitzel, sizzler, and burger king. I do try to avoid going to these places, it defeats my purpose of changing the way I eat.
My husband prefers to save as much of his hard earned money he can. So when he sees how much I can save going to the market with coupons, he is willing to do anything to help. He mentions to the guys at work we use coupons and if they get the sunday paper to please bring them in if they could. The secretary saves hers for me and I usually get three extra copies of the inserts a week this way.

Does anyone know a site that has coupons for some more rare products? For example, we buy a lot of Carnation instant breakfast and Vita Coco water, so I would love to stock up on it with coupons!

Ok I am still a novice at this even though I've been doing this for some years on and off. The notebook thing is a good idea! I garnered one that my teenager decided he didn't want but where do I find the inserts with all the pockets?
I am fortunate that my hubby grabs extra copies of newspapers and inserts the next day from work that were not picked up from patrons from his establishment. I am also working with my mom and Sister in learning how to save big on our budget. It seems that I can only seem to get a few coupons for items that I use. I just need to remember my book and get to the store with them. Unfortunately, the only doubling around here is the 3 doublers every couple weeks for a store that I don't frequent.
Do I talk to customer service for coupon regulations?

I want to get into couponing as I have said before. What supplies do I need and also how do others put their coupons in their binders or files. I am just starting out and I know it is going to take me a long time to get it going well but I am willing to try. I only get one set of coupons per weekend and I will work on making them work for me then I will move into getting more by either buying them on line or printing them on line.

So..I am a cashier at Walmart. I've couponed as they were available for what I would normally purchase before working at there.

A few suggestions I would make is:
* www.recipe.com when registering for this site you put in your zip code and pick out your favorite shopping place. This site recommends recipes based on your prefrences and choices. Also will display best ad prices in your area for participating stores, type in key words like milk, butter, soup, meat.... etc and it comes up good to do if you only shop places that ad match (Walmart isn't the only place that does this)

* karzycouponlady.com good advice, insights, and direct link alphabetically for printable coupons

*no matter where you shop please be kind to the cashier, they are only doing/asking what the register and their supervisor asks of them and their job is on the line if they don't. I know some cashiers are friendlier than others but most will help you save and not be on the defensive if you don't insult them because the computers aren't saying the same thing as the sign or ad you saw.

*do you have your own bags... GREAT we love that (especially since your bags hold more), but prefer to know it before we start ringing you up so we can get them set up. At most Grocers the cashiers/baggers reviews are based on how fast they ring/bag items.... if you wait till they have already started ringing and bagging they to let them know you have your own bags they are already trying to make up for lost time before getting to your competitors match items and coupons which may make for a stickier situation since you want the cashiers to be on your side.

Overage, is when the coupon value exceeds what you purchased. For example; if a bottle of shampoo costs $2 and your coupon is for $3 off one you can get $1 cash back aka overage. This has only happened to me a couple times and I used the overage toward other items that I purchase in the same trip. I only know of Walmart allowing you to receive an overage where I live. At Harris Teeter I know that they reduce your coupon down and won't allow you to receive any overage. For example; if you have a $1 off coupon for lip balm and it's on sale for .99 cents they will reduce your coupon value to .99 so that you don't receive cash back.

ThinkthinTami I learned about this by using online couponing websites. I had no idea it was possible to receive cash back from a coupon until then! Check out coupondivas.com to view her free tutorials on how to coupon. It is a great site that I learned a lot from!

My tip is to coupon at Walmart so that you can receive an overage and can price match. This weekend I price matched some lip balm and received $1 overage for every 2 that I purchased. I bought 10 and received a $5 overage which I used to purchase food. The great deal right now at Walmart is to purchase the Covergirl face makeup and use the $8/2 coupon that came out last week. You may receive an overage depending on what you purchase.

A fair warning about Walmart: I have had a couple bad experiences at Walmart (and Target), because some cashiers and CSMs will argue with you about your coupons. My trip this weekend was great though and I had no problems. The cashier even congratulated me on my use of coupons!

My best suggestions:

1. Use a coupon binder. It's SO hard to keep track of otherwise!
2. Make than binder one of the ones that zip up, or your coupons could go flying!
3. Make your plan BEFORE you go to the store (websites).
4. Don't get swept up in the coupons--I don't buy anything when coupon stocking up (getting extras) unless it's under $1 (HBA, household) or a significant savings for food (we have to eat every day, so that stuff has to be bought sometimes at slightly less awesome savings)
5. Recruit your family and friends! I buy 2 papers/week for the coupons, and the rest are donations from family and friends. I also welcome all help with the clipping... :)
6. Keep a print out of the coupon policies of the stores you commonly go to. It lets you win when dealing with a jerky cashier.
7. Hunt the clearance! I get some of the most awesome deals using coupons on clearance items!!

Hi. I am new to the forum and couponing. I am enjoying the challenge of mastering the drug store offers. I have learned a lot and don't know why I ever paid full price for toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant etc. I am moving on to mastering the grocery store next. I have a bigger budget now for food but need to figure out how to get the healthy food for less.

I print free online coupons from couponbug.com. I buy multiple newspapers - my hometown paper for the sale ads and 2 or 3 Chicago Tribunes because they have the most coupon inserts in my area (I'm in Illinois) - but remember they don't put inserts in newspapers on holidays. Sometimes instead of that, I'll buy whole coupon inserts on Ebay - it's cheaper than newspapers, and sometimes I buy whole inserts from wholecouponinserts.com. You can also buy individual specific coupons from couponclippers.com. On wholecouponinserts.com, you can review each coupon in the insert so you don't buy something you won't use. I've been couponing for about 6 months or so - and yes, I use one of those big school binders now. It really is like a part time job but it does save me a lot of money. Good luck, shoppers! emoticon

I seem to be having trouble with this couponing thing. I get some good coupons, but many of the sites I visit have all the same ones. Then others want me to take surveys, answer personal questions, then they have the same stuff or are out of my area. Any suggestions?

My husband uses Axe products and there are B1G1F coupons for body wash and deordorant. If you don't use these let me know I Could always use those. This Sunday's paper is supposed to have a lot of coupons.

I have found that Facebook is a good place to find groups who search for and post lots of good internet coupons. Mommy Coupon Swappers is my favorite of those. emoticon

I have a lot of extra coupons that I will not be using. Is there anywhere here that I can post a list? If anyone wants them I will be happy to mail them out.

Sunday was my first time coupon-ing. At first I was suppose to be my sister's assistant but after watching her shop I know I can do a better job. She only buys name brand items when some of the store brands are cheaper than using coupons. My sister only scouted CVS, Walgreens, and Target. I added two grocery chains and came out with better deals.

With coupons she paid $1.50 for Wheat Thins and I paid $1.38. One store I had a 59% savings value. WooHoo!

My advice - check expiration dates on coupons as well as food items. One store had jelly on sell and all of it was 4 months expired. I asked for a raincheck.

I went grocery shopping today and spent a little over $50 dollars after shopping at two stores. I'll admit I didn't get a whole lot of items, but I was really pleased with how much I saved. A few things I've learned:

1) coupon.com is a good resource. There are many coupons there that you will not find in flyers.

2) Don't get swept up in store deals like 3 for $5's or the like. I've learned that while some are important to take part in, others just get you to spend more money-- thus jacking up your bill.

3) Always check the expiration dates of your coupons before you go to shop. Nothing would be worse than thinking your total would be less than it really will be simply because you thought some coupons would be factored into your savings when they've already expired so cannot be used.

4) Always always match up your coupons with store specials. If something is on sale or clearance- using a coupon will make it that much cheaper and what's the point in wasting coupons on something that is full price?

5) Never limit yourself to one grocery store. I found this out the hard way. Scanning each store's flyer will allow you to match up your coupons with the best deals and allow you to save a lot more money by splitting your coupons between different stores.

Lastly make a LIST. If you're going to more than one grocery store seperate your list into columns. Put the foods you plan to buy along with how much they should cost and how much they will cost after coupon use. This will allow you to know how much you should expect to spend along with showing you how much you will SAVE =)

I have watched the show Extreme Couponing a couple of time and those people are Extreme but have gleaned a couple of ideas. I am already registered at couponmom.com , I have a subscription to ALL YOU and they have excellent coupons. I generally always get The Sunday paper and buy another if the coupons are good. I need a good organization system! What coupon system or systems do you use or know of. I lack te organizationl gene but think that the area I need to develop.

I use couponmom.com since I'm new to couponing too. she has a couple videos about using her site and it helps match up coupons by date published to the store chains you choose. makes it easier for me anyway.

It's a good idea to get a copy of the store's coupon policy which you can usually find on their corporate website. I am sorry to hear you had trouble with the internet coupons. I am in MN and have had no problem redeeming them.
