I feel like such a wimp sometimes. I start to get stressed and have trouble controling my mind or my emotions. i don't respond with violence or yell at people but i tend to always want to voice snarky, mean spirited comments.

I also have found that although some exercises and intensities have gotten easier, I still could push myself and work harder to get better results. i tend to be lazy and then i get upset when my scale is going in the wrong direction. then i try to rationalize why i have gained about 10lbs instead of losing the 20 i wanted.

I am part of a team names "JUST DO IT!" but I still rationalize and put too little effort int o things and then wonder why i don't get where i want to go. I need to get in control of all these bad habits that just cause me stress and make me nervous because they will only cause me more issues then they will ever resolve.

Don't forget to be awesome.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great day! I'm happy today is Thursday. I did a power walk this morning. I'm planning to take another walk soon. Has anyone purchased the Cookbook? I'm really thinking about trying some of the recipes in there. Have a great night everyone.

MBC-N-2012 - Fishing sounds like fun. I always wanted to go when I was kid. Maybe one day I will be able to go.

LINDA1242 - Good luck with your goals. I have been on this journey almost 3 years and it's not getting any easier. I take it one day at a time.

It's started out ok. Hubby and I went fishing this morning. Didn't catch anything to bring home but we both caught some catfish and let them go. It was good exercise and we got plenty of fresh air.

I want to share a new food that has become a satisfying snack beverage.

Silk Fruit & Protein drink, one glass is 150calories of high protein soy drink
tastily mixed with mango peach fruit. Mid afternoon, 4 oz curb my appetite
until supper time. There are two other flavors I have yet to try: Strawberry
Banana and Mixed Berry.

Got in about 2 1/2 hours of activity today. Had planned to spend a couple hours at a trampoline park with the family, but DH managed to break his nose about 60 seconds after he got on the trampolines, so we had to leave almost as soon as we got there!

Also returning! Thank you Just do IT for my exercise ball and vegetarian goodie icons on my spark page!

It was hard to manage a diet, physical therapy for a tendon repair and a household. Healing after surgery zapped my energy levels and there was not enough time to visit SP or adhere to my goals. I did manage to maintain my weight loss and lose 3 pounds more since April started. Added extra fruits and vegetables to each meal.

Today I decided to tackle the SP emails saved since returning to work. This exciting newsletter from the Just do It! team motivated me. The returning sparkers convinced me!

We all want to wear shorts this summer if not a bathing suit!

Thank you! -- Sometimes it truly is a "day-at-a-time". (As to the journaling, it isn't that it's not a good idea, but don't "should" all over yourself. Do what you can when you can!)

In the healthy choices category, I tripped and fell last night--looking for comfort in all the wrong places! Argh! -- So today, getting back on my feet and choosing to walk on a healthy path.
Will probably not get my cardio in today due to lack of a vehicle and miserable weather outside. emoticon
I'm planning to get in a long walk Sat. AM in exchange. (It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend. Here's hoping!) emoticon

Way to go Berry4!! Keep up the good work!! I am in week 2 and have been tracking my food the last 2 days and got my walk in for the last 2 days as well. I haven't been journaling like I should, as I keep leaving the journal at home, but I am staying focused and positive and on task!! I will walk for lunch today and during Abby's soccer practice tonight.

Walking past cravings...realizing they do NOT mean I have to eat! -- So learning to think "nutritious" in the sense that I want my calories to count (not empty sugars, as I've been wont to do!).

This is week #3 of a two-part challenge. I'm addressing diet issues by LOADING fruits & veggies. And I do ST 3x's most weeks, with cardio the other 3 days (aiming to use HIIT).

So far the scale has responded and is in the "down" direction. Would like to drop into a new set of "10's" by end of month!

Just a daily check-in! So far my diet is reasonable today. That means I didn't have cookies for breakfast again. I'll be alright as long as I remember to do strength training later today. I've got those nervous jitters....

working on tracking my food every day sounds easy but its not easy for me to remember all
the little things we eat each day with thinking the sugar on he berries the spices on our veggies the olive oil we use to cook with all have calories that add up. have not been a 100% yet but working on it . just decided i need to remember to take baby steps on this challenge so this week i will work on getting every little tracked at breakfast from 4/13 to to 4/19

Good morning from Colorado! Doing the just do it at lunch in about 25 mins, and going to walk while I talk instead of standing in one spot like I always do!! Also still walking down the hall to use the bathroom instead of the one 5 steps away!! emoticon

Good Morning all, I am new to the team and just wanted to check in and say hi. I will be taking my lunch (30 min) to walk and we normally do about 1 mile. I think might have to be inside as there is rain/sprinkles in the forcast.

Along with a new walking friend, we hiked approximately 7 miles in the Valley Forge National Park. We saw Washington's Headquarters and a host of other historical places associated with Washington's military troops. It was sooooooo cool. I took photos.. lots of them.

This wasn't a power walking trip, but all our walking wasn't on roads. Some of the scenery was absolutely breathtaking.

On monday i decided to get off my butt and get going. i spent about an hour scrubbing out my refridgerator. it was gunky. stuff spilled and i did not get it wiped off. i have been doing better at avoiding late night snacks. i still want sweets, but i started to tell myself that i was done eating for the night and if i was really hungry then i could eat a healthy snack. I am becoming more aware of how many times i eat, particularily sweets when i am not that hungry,

Don't forget to be awesome.

Hi team! Just wanted to stop by and say hello...

Trying to apply a "just do it" mentality to keep pressing on even when I'm tired. Two things I'm focusing on are:

Making the right choices for a healthier diet..

Organizing this house so I can just enjoy summer with my family..

Sabataging thoughts can easily get in the way of my weight loss. I am working on responding to these thoughts. Here's one: I don't care if I eat that. My response: I may not care now, but I will care when I get on the scale.

I may not want to change my habits, but it's the price I need to pay to get thin and healthy and stay thin and healthy.

Hi everyone I am new to the group. I have to say I am not very good about checking in regularly but I am going to work on that. I just want to say that I started a new workout routine and I was really sore yesterday and I thought of ever reason under the sun not to do yesterdays workout. But at around 10pm last night I went on line to put my dinner in my tracker and I saw the NO Excuses symbol and I thought about what my sister would think if I blew it off so I got up and went to the workout room and did my workout. When I was done I was actually happy I did it. Hope everyone has a good day.

Love the attitude of this team! Makes me happy going to this thread and see so many positive comments and great check-ins.
Checking in- doing well, working on lowering my cholesterol so I'm adding foods to help lowering it naturally. Learning new things about healthy fats. Here I was trying to avoid the fats as much as possible! One day at the time.....

I wanted to report. My goal is to stay within my calorie range and to track my food. I tracked everything, but I was about 100 cals over. But.... good thing .... I only ate 4 oreo cookies and successfully made myself not eat 4 more.

Checking in - tracked my water, my exercise and stayed on track as best I could during January. Down 10.6 my first month! A little further down this path and closer to my goal weight! emoticon

Am 3 weeks new and this morning really really did not feel like going to the gym and felt soooo tired. Thought of the Just do It team and decided to get my takkies on and get to the gym - even if I just walked slowly on the treadmill for 2 minutes - it was something. What happened? When I was on the treadmill it was not so bad and I did feel better. Yay

Welcome Rae - I'm fairly new also. It's my first week after discovering Spark.
My bf and I recently realized the excuses we had been making up until recently and decided that needed to stop. We don't have any kids in the house and no real obstacles to getting healthy. It was really nice timing to find this team.

I want to apologize for being MIA for quite some time now. I need to get back into the swing of things and for some reason when it comes to health and fitness they aren't my top priorities. I hate to even think that let alone say that but it's true. I am finally going to start being honest with myself and turn this all around. I want to be very involved with this team and start making an effort to get myself back into better shape. If at first or second or third I don't succeed...I will keep on trying! I'm more determined than ever! emoticon emoticon

one of my themes i am working on making a habit for this year is "Just do it". with that said i will be making less excuses, less voicing complaints (unless i can make logical, intellgent comments), and getting off my butt and just doing tasks (show initiative).

i did not do well on all these for this weekend, but there were a few times i made a point of focusing on my new theme. i will get better at it.

Don't forget to be awesome.

I've had to work on shaking off my "coddling" personality. I have been giving in to temptation too much and eating mindlessly. i have not been pushing myself enough and still need to work om weakness in my attitude.

I have been trying to get away from complaining about a task/decision and instead just picking an option and then ...Just Do It

From reading a few blogs, apparently there are a lot of us who said no more excuses and just use common sense to eat sensibly and be active.

So my church started a 21 day Prayer and Fast yesterday. It is offically day 2 of my fast. I have had to adjust my workout schedule and my eating schedule to accommodate this process. Yesterday was a little rough- I am doing a Sun up to Sun set fast from food, so only juice and water. But yesterday I didn't wake up before sunset to eat breakfast, so aside from a protein shake I had in the middle of the day, I was at my end by the time I could eat for dinner.

Today was much better, I got up and had a bowl of cherrios, with strawberries and flaxseed and I added a protein shake to that to keep me full throughout the day. I am still sticking to juice and water for the mid day and another Odwalla Protein Shake just so that I can keep up with my calorie and nutrient intake for my workouts.
I am feeling pretty good about this and am hoping that I can maintain the schedule for the next 20 days. I have created an alternative fast plan, if I am unable to maintain the fast for longer than the 20 days.
Hope everyone is having a good day! Happy Monday and have a great week!

This week has been GREAT! I ran about 6 miles split between two intervals yesterday and it was fabulous! I have been taking my vitamins daily and cleaned out my fridge, and pantry and replaced "bad" foods with healthier alternative options.

I created a workout schedule that is in my Google Calendar and have created some accountability having friends work out with me!

Best of luck everyone!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I'm enjoying the week challenge so far! I know I've been in this frame of mind before, but have not experienced lasting weight loss. I want this to be the year that I make it! That's why I was excited about this team- no excuses! I'm tired of them and I won't engage in them anymore!

Today I commit myself to health and well-being.

Thank you Lizimm I will keep that in mind. I do have a tendency to go too hard hurting myself and then not getting back on. Has something to do with wanting everything now and I am trying to get away from that. Appreciate the advice .

Glad to see your new motivation. It is okay to work at the upper end of your target heart rate as long as you can stay within target. For weight loss, it would be more important to work on increasing the length of time you exercise and not necessarily how hard. That being said, increasing too fast can also cause injury. The 10% rule for increasing time is that for every decade of life you have lived you add 10% in that many weeks. For example in your forties increase 10% every 4 weeks, in your fifties every 5 weeks, etc. good luck and stay motivated.

Morning All

I started this journey Dec 7 and as of today lost 7 lb. Only 63 to go. Big thing today as I am a heart attack and bypass surgery person was that I pushed hard on the exercise bike to reach my target heart rate. Really felt good. The other day I had to slow down a number of times as I was going to high. Not sure if this is just an abnormal thing or dramatic improvement. I will continue to push as it sure felt good.

Made an appointment with the Dr. Had my Physical Exam, I am in good health, but the weight is more than what I had previously thought. The thing is I don't feel at all what the numbers on the scale say. So now the goal is to figure out some balance. I am working with friends near me on a workout plan that we will all committ to, so here goes nothing.. In other news, I am looking forward to my run today, despite it being December on the East Coast, today is really nice out. :D

Good Afternoon

Just about my first post here. Last couple of weeks I have been sorting out food issues and have been doing pretty well. Lost 4 lb. Now time for the exercise part so I got on the exercise bike and did 30 minutes. Feels good to be a little active and I will build on that. My tendency has always to go full bore like firing a bullet into the water. Go like a flash and then suddenly decelerate and slowly drop to the bottom. Not this time. Onward and upward.

So I bought the SparkPeople Cookbook! YAY Me! and I have already begun to plan out my meals and hopefully get my eating habits back on track. I don't eat junk food per say, but I am definitely not getting the right amount of nutrients, being in school and all makes it hard when I am not on a more fluid schedule.

But here's to another day of getting it right. This week's goal is to just make sure I get in a good breakfast every morning!

Have a good one!

Hi, I am new to this team. I Have been exercising and eating better. But about once a week I tend to go overboard and lose it, overheating but not necessarily because I am hungry. It seems to take me a few days to gt back on track after that, so I am hoping joining this group might motivate me through this.
