90% of corn is now GMO (genetically modified). I would not even think of buying it in a regular store or in a can. Buy it from your local grower only!

Corn is a vegetable, and I eat it without prejudice! It's a great switch from chips or other really unhealthy foods. I never steer away from any vegetable, the more the merrier in my opinion! I love corn, and love to eat a variety of veggies!

I have also read that the corn seed has been genetically changed so much (by Monsonto) in order to make it bug resistant that it is no longer "natural" corn. It is genetically modified corn. The only place you can get "real" corn is from a farmers market.

Corn is not allowed on the elimination diet, so I guess it is not "clean". Not only is corn mostly sugar and starch without enough nutrients to make up for all the carbs, it is LOADED with omega 6 FAs. It is because of corn used to fatten them that feed-lot cattle are far more inflammatory than grass fed beef. I view it as the best grain to avoid if you want to eat clean.
