I did the Clean program with very minimal expense. I didn't purchase any of the expensive supplements, just some hemp protein powder, Natural Calm, Extra Virgin coconut oil, and probiotic supplements. I think I spent about $40 on all of that, on Amazon.com. Lost 15 lbs. over the 3 week period and have pretty much kept it off. I felt great after about day 3, but ran into a bit of trouble with adding back food groups. I think I was too afraid of blowing everything. Now, I'm still juicing and having the smoothies quite a bit (really loved some of the recipes), but have added back regular, "healthy" foods. I'll be starting the Spark Solution on Monday. I wouldn't rule out going back to the Clean program for a day or two here and there...but I don't know if I'd do the full 3 weeks again. It was pretty difficult. I bought the Juicing Bible by Pat Crocker - it also has lots of great recipes in it, though all are not 'Clean'.

Thanks for the info Lady Gaga :) Interesting diet but wish for a different name. I read the pdf files and picked up a few pointers. I just bought 5 lbs of raw peanuts so I have to get rid of those. I was going to go with potato, now maybe I'll have to rethink. Feel free to list the supplements that you paid $180 for. Thanks.

I would be interested in what foods to include or exclude.

I also exclude breads and pastas as well, in my eating plan.

I should have mentioned I dont purchase his products, I just follow his philosophy about eating clean and promoting a healthy gut. Go the page 6 of the guide and see "Foods to include and exclude" - thats the important part.
He also advocates supplements and a shakes to give you all the nutrients, vitamins, probiotics, enzymes you need and but you can get them anywhere and the shake is actually repackaged Metagenics products.
FYI - My friend did it for a month, the results were amazing and she felt great but it was over $400 a month so she couldn't afford it. Determined, she researched and was able to replicate the program on her own. I bought everything on Amazon for about ~$180.
Its a little spendy, but I was so desperate for something that works and his approach makes sense. Plus, I'm saving at least half of that by cutting out wine!
I can list the products/ supplements if anyone is interested.

Warm regards, Gloria

I checked it out, and as soon as I saw the words "Purchase my" it stopped me dead in my tracks. I don't do programs that require you to purchase their products.
With what I am doing, I use the Nutri Bullet and have one blast a day, my actual green drink, I generally trade it out for my dinner meal. I eat my larger meal at lunchtime.
This is working for me, and I am losing weight, gaining strength, to endure exercise work outs.
Something I have never been able to do before.
Good luck with your program, if it works for you. That's great!
Actually all I did, was just start eating clean wholesome foods.

I have never heard of Dr. Junger's clean program, will check it out though, because I have been eating clean for almost 3 months, and it sounds exactly like what I am doing now. I cut out all refined products, dairy, red meat, eggs. I eat quinoa and brown rice for my grains. I eat only fish and poultry for my protein. And of course produce and fruits. I only have unsweetened almond milk. I do eat nuts and seeds. And legumes, mainly Lentils. I have been trying to find the Adjuki beans that Dr. Furhman mentions in his book "Eat to Live" and try those, he says they are a must with his plan. But I will check out your link, and see what it's all about. Most are saying I sound like I am on the Mediterranean diet, but there are things on it, I won't eat. I am a Stevia user, I stay away from any sugar or syrup sweetner. My caffeine of choice is a cup of green tea a day. I have purchased the coconut oil, haven't used it yet.

After seeing the amazing results of my best friend from college, I was floored. She's had 2 kids and well, UCLA was 18 years ago. She had her body back and looked incredible! She did it by going Clean, beginning with Junger's 21-day Clean Cleanse.
I'm on day 10 and feel fantastic. I've lost 4 lbs and am so excited with the results. I'm 40+, dealing with peri menopause, I'd plateaued and couldn't seem to do anything to get the weight off. Seeing the scale finally move is the best feeling!
I'd love to share recipes, tips, meal ideas, etc with someone else who is on the Clean program.
If you are curious, heres a link to the program guide. http://www.cleanprogram.com/files/clean-pr

Its very restrictive, but I haven't eaten processed or fast food for years, and with the exception of Greek yogurt, I already cut out dairy in favor of almond or coconut milk. I haven't used refined sugar in years; I only do stevia or grade B maple syrup. I had already swapped out caffeine for yerba mate and only eat brown rice or quinoa so its not that hard for me to make a few more restrictions. Nighshades are the hardest for me, no tomatoes or eggplant. Oh, and no citrus, no strawberries. No eggs, but with my yummy shake and I dont miss them. Overall its been much easier than I thought it would be and I'm thrilled with the results!
Please let me know if you are doing the Clean program and want a buddy!
