I REALLY need to get more active with this team! I feel So much better when I 'eat clean' and the past few days I certainly haven't been.

My husband got a job overseas and he left 3 weeks ago. Now it's just my 10 yr old daughter & I. I have less 'me' time & haven't yet established a schedule. I'm still running around trying to do 10 things at once and really accomplishing nothing, except running myself ragged!

I've still been exercising but my eating has gotten a bit out of control.

So I vow that tomorrow will be THE day for getting back on track!

They live in Burton upon Trent. We have been over twice. The first time was for the wedding. At that time they lived in Ashford in Kent. We went for a week before the wedding and did day trips every day then after the wedding we went to Liverpool and on to Ireland for a few days. What a trip! It's beautiful there. Last time we were only there for a few days then went on to Italy where my son lived at the time. I'm so excited already. My daughter and grandson have never seen my granddaughter. Both the children will be 5 then.

Jane, where in England? I'm originally from there.

Halloween never used to be a big deal in England, but in recent years it has become part of the "Americanization" of English culture, and is growing in popularity!

Congratulations Anne! There is absolutely NOTHING like a grandchild. I know people say that all the time but it's true! The vision of seeing your baby holding their baby is amazing. I have 2 grandchildren a boy and a girl. They are both 4. My granddaughter lives in England with her Mom (divorced son) so we have only seen her 1 time. We booked tickets last night to go in October! I am so excited. My daughter and grandson are going with us so we will have both our grandchildren in the same room for the first time. We will be there for Halloween so they will go trick or treating together! I'm very motivated now to get to goal weight.

During this time of year I do find it harder on the week-ends as we go skiing every week-end. I have less time to prepare, am usually pretty tired, and then of course in the evenings everyone wants to get together to socialize, which includes a potluck type meal, but mostly it ends up being appetizers and such. I of course bring something good, but most others do not. Lately I have been just feeding my family early and then dropping in later to socialize for a short time, which seems to be working.

Every new day is another chance to change your life.

Thanks:
I hope to also be back on track. I think the further I get off track is what is making for more off track, if that makes any sense.

Tomorrow will be a better day. We have had two deaths in our family this year and I seem not to cope with that really well. I will succeed.

Ellie,

For the first time since January 1st, I too find myself off-track today, and I am not liking it, not one tiny bit.
In the past, (prior to 2006 when I lost 76 pounds, and got to goal weight,) I would have used today as an excuse to throw in the towel and totally give up. But in 2006 I FINALLY learned that one bad day does NOT have to derail me completely. One bad day is just that, one bad day.
I will finish out this "bad day" by keeping my calories low at dinner time...maybe a large bowl of simple vegetable soup. And tomorrow will be a better day again.

Since I'm attempting a repeat of 2006's exercise "streak" (every day, without fail,) I have at least exercised today, so my "streak" so far this year, continues.

I enjoy eating clean and feel much better when I do. Weekends are not so much the problem it is when I get off track and find it very hard to get back. I am at that spot again, right now, and I hate it. I will go back to things that have worked in the past and see if I can go things going again.

If you get off track how do you deal with that, whether it be weekends or in general?

I need to go back to pen and paper and write everything down including my exercise.

For me once I have "got clean" and given up processed foods etc I then stick to it and am used not to eating chocolate etc. So weekends are not a problem. A separate issue for me is trying to lose weight. I have first concentrated on "getting clean" as that makes me happy and healthy.

I certainly find if I ever try to lose weight weekends are harder.

Are weekends a challenge? How do you cope with them? Do weekends not bother or derail you at all? How do you make it work?
