Here's a smoothie that I make once in a while that the kids love. I got the recipe from The Gluten Free Pantry. I also add in Flax or Chia (freshly ground) and a few ice cubes and blend for a couple minutes. Stevia works good as a sweetener as well.
3 kiwis 1 pear 1 cup spinach 1 1/2 cup water 1 Tbsp. raw honey (or coconut palm sugar)
My FAVE thing is a sliced apple with 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter. I've been munching on Dulce (seaweed) to get my salty fix. Homemade Hummus and clean crackers, or, better yet, veggies is always good too
I love Chocolate Cherry Trail Mix from Whole Foods for a snack. And I've discovered that putting 1/4 cup of trail mix into 1/2 cup of cottage cheese makes a really nice, filling snack - I'm not eating the whole bag of trail mix!
Veggie crudités...I like carrots, celery, broccoli or cauliflower florets, and thickly sliced English cucumber. Hummus, a thick tahini sauce or cottage cheese for "dipping"
1/2 Whole-wheat bagel with almond or peanut butter
Cottage cheese with fruit and a sprinkle of chopped nuts
Almonds (28g/1oz) with a small banana
A half sandwich or wrap made with one slice whole-wheat bread or a whole-wheat tortilla filled with organic cold cuts, or Tempeh, and lots of veggies: Alfalfa sprouts, tomatoes, thinly sliced cucumber or zucchini
Pinwheels made with organic cold cuts and cream cheese with veggies...and some days, I will simply make a giant salad of mixed veggies and masculine leaves, drizzled with a little olive oil and lemon.
