Well, I am sorry I didn't mean to insult anyone, I was just giving my opinion. I'm not living in a big city either, i'm not a youngster.. I'm sorry I didn't want to sound rude ;) (english is not my first language) I would love to have my own chickens, and plan to.

Good for you living in a Big City. But as adults sometimes we must move away to smaller areas of the country that don't have access this those sorts of things. While that might not be something you would like, it pays the bills for others. Judgements like that are not welcomed on this team, period. I have my Husband and myself, we spend over $200 a week and that's not organic. When I lived in Detroit that was my total when I bought nothing but. So please, keep "it's an excuse or I wouldn't live in XYZ" speech to yourself, it's insulting to others.

As far as Clean being a definition, no they are not all created the same. If you read more into Tosca, you would see that full fat anything is a no-no. But if you look at it from someone that perhaps lives on a farm, they eat what is produced including full fat dairy, eggs, and meats... sometimes cheeses. Those are "clean" as well. It just depends on what your definition of "clean" means to you and your life. There is a plethera of ideas about what is "clean" and it's up to the individual to find what they like and go for it. There is no right or wrong in that sense. I liken it the Olympic Rings, they intertwine with each other as they share some basic priniciples, but each subgroup has it's own unique values or ideas of what "clean" is and isn't.

Clean Eating is like a bad religion- full of obsession and accult thinking.

Isn't clean.. just clean? I like Tosca Reno's book, i'm kinda new to all this but to me it just makes sense. I realize that most of my days aren't clean, and that it's hard :) I guess like others said, it's a day to day challenge and it's already a lot! I have fun doing this though and I look forward becoming good at it :)

I'm from Eastern Canada and I'm so very lucky to have access to a lot of resources, natural products store, lots of organic food and great eco-responsable products. While I don't think i'll ever be a vegetarian (again), I want to make better choices regarding the meat I buy and eat. I'll try to buy organic, local, happy meat and I know there's plenty of it around. Organic food aren't that much more expensive, I generally see it as an excuse because.. what you don't pay at the cash, you pay otherwise. Health, losing local jobs, etc. I agree that it might be a little more trouble to find these but I personally wouldn't like to live in an area where it's not available at all.

I generally don't keep much junk food around either but I still find myself craving it and just go for it whenever I see it in a store, and then end up with regrets and feeling like sh*t (like today). I need to learn how to resist and replace those, salty, fatty, sugary cravings. Argh! :)

Trying to do this one day at a time, my first step which is a big one to me is removing the junk food, chips, cookies, etc. since they are my biggest challenge then go from there! I have finally accept that I can't just eat a little without craving more. so I need to leave it alone completely until I can be disciplined to do better emoticon emoticon I already cut out red meat, pork is next just being for real! emoticon emoticon

It can be difficult to establish a challenge for Clean Eating. So many people have different opinions about what is and isn't clean. Depending on what part of the Country you live is, assuming USA, Organic Foods are not always available or are out of budget for many people. Some people like to follow Tosca Reno, some will comsume GMO and others won't. Some people consume raw dairy, whole dairy, and/or full fat (naturally occurring) foods as those are considered clean to some groups of people. So like I said, it can be difficult bc what one person considers "clean" another person doesn't. I personally follow an European and early 20th Centry approach to Clean Eating. I think we all can agree on some basic principles but when looking for a challenge, it's probably best to do an individual self challenge.

Clean Eating is like a bad religion- full of obsession and accult thinking.
