Well after getting my diet in check 'getting tested' not pleasant for Chron's, Diverticulitis, and well all that fun stuff ... I have a little bit of inflammation in my gut that has caused scar tissue, and I have just awful IBS and GERD.

Rarely eat anything processed anymore and when I do I feel it. I am working on going as gluten free as possible. Still trying to find a good bread. I know I LOVE Dave's Killer Bread, the Good Seed, but that makes me gassy and crampy ... thank god it doesn't make me break out in hives like the other bread I was eating way before this did ....

I only drink Organic milk now and only organic produce if possible, organic free range eggs. Still greek yogurt and cottage cheese and kefir now, sometimes goat milk for my dairy and organic butter (NOT CLEAN) i know, but hey I like eating somewhat normal, and it's not affecting my wight loss, fat loss or cholesterol levels.

So all in all .... it really pays to atttention to what you eat.

In addition to really processed foods, dairy is a big killer for me. I never really drank milk but I used to have a lot of ice cream, yogurt and cheese in my diet. I noticed that my stomach really bothered me the next day if I had a lot of dairy so I have cut way back on it to the point where I maybe eat 2-3oz of cheese a week and that's all my dairy intake (take a calcium supplement). I have also noticed that since I cut way down on sugar, which is found in highly processed foods, my most recent flare up has gotten a lot better. My stomach doesn't feel as bad and things are "working" better. I really think that eating a clean, low dairy and sugar diet help keep my IBS in check.

You may want to look at gluten products. I have found I have alot of IBS symptoms from these. When I stay away from them I am normal. I can sure tell when I have bread or pizza, etc. as it flares back up.

Oh and now that I am limiting my Added Sugar intake, I am noticing how much that is effecting me too, not just IBS, but sugar levels. When I consume something with processed sugar I feel it. I ate Bush's Baked Beans with dinner tonight, 1 serving size, and 1.5 hours later I was getting light headed. The less added sugar I consume, the better I feel. When I do eat it, It hurts.

Clean Eating is like a bad religion- full of obsession and accult thinking.

I went super clean for 3 weeks to detox from all the sugars and chemicals in my body. I ate something like 13-15 servings of produce a day and consumed nothing but lean versions of protein and naturally high fiber foods.

After that point I realized it was the processed foods for me. Also those with high sodium, high sugar, and processed/added fiber. Even the natural but processed foods like what you can get at whole foods. I scratch make 95% of what I eat. The more natural I ate, the better it got. Now I only tend to flare when we eat at certain restaurants. I prefer this semi-organic and sustainable Bistro in downtown. DH...not so much.

How did you figure out what foods triggered you? I have been in pain for almost 3 weeks now. Saw doctor again yesterday. Now recommend to eat BRAT diet, which I have donemany many many many times ..

but the only thing, there will be no protein ... I always just ate plain oatmeal, white rice with cream and sugar, bananas and toast with some butter. Lots of saltines and sprite/7-up ..

well I don't eat just sugar anymore... don't really eat white rice at all, I occasionally eat brown rice ... I LOVE bananas ... can live without toast, but saltines are just calling for me to bloat up like a puffer fish although will help with my tummy and intestines right now...

suggestions help! I exercise 6 days a week. So I need proper fuel ....
