Oh, I meant to say that I don't believe in the "lean meat" mantra. I think that's just another "wildly advertised" gimmick to get us to switch over to manufactured fats which are deadly (Crisco, margarine, hydrogenated fats--stuff like that) People also were led to believe that if something didn't have saturated fats in it that it was then good for us. This led to eating more packaged, processed junk--All marketing hype. Saturated fats have been sorely lacking in our diets ever since the big saturated fats scare back in the 70s. It was based on faulty science. The fat you eat isn't the fat that sticks to your hips or organs--unless it is hydrogenated fats. The fat that sticks gets there a different way; mostly from processed, dead foods of all kinds and most of all from all the sugars that are in the processed foods.

Also, good cheeses made from trusted dairies that raise cows free of rBGH might offer a cheese that is orange in color. The dye used for this is normally annato which comes from the seed of a tropical plant and is harmless (and useless) as far as I know. Read the label on the cheese and it will probably state the source of the coloring.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

You are very welcome! I actually copied this from another SP member (I'm at work, found it right after reading your question--so BAM! lol) Real fast......I have found eating clean is actually real easy if we take away all the crap...It is back to basics......Lean meats, vege's, fruits, dairy that isn't all processed......the white cheese's are free of dyes.......I shop organic and look at labels like crazy......I buy my berries organic and frozen, I was wasting them other wise. I make it harder than it needs to be that is for sure because there is so much garbage around. Together we can do this!!!!

Clean = plain food, not processed, real, true, recognized by the body as nutritious.

Unclean = processed, wildly advertised, manufactured by humans, made to last on the shelf and to promise big profits. Often contains additives and ingredients unknown by the average person, often unrecognizable and undigestable by the body.

Hi, I am looking into eating clean and am finding that everyone has different views on what eating clean means.

Is there a list that states foods that are clean?

I have read a lot of info on clean eating and so far, it's all pretty vague IMO.

My thoughts are if a food is "natural" (fruit, animals/meat that are not GMO) are clean. How does dairy fit into all of this?

Thank you for responding :)
