I'm not sure why you found Joyful's original post confrontational, but it looks like several of the posts on this thread have been edited, so maybe I missed something. Anyway...many people don't understand the difference between GMOs and foods that have been selectively bred. The GMO companies put a lot of money into educational materials to make it seems like they are the same thing.
However, the campaign of misinformation notwithstanding, selective breeding, as was done with the fruits Joyful listed, is completely different than genetic modification. The two are not comparable.

Just curious, are you all against Tangelos, Nectarines, Navel Oranges, Seedless grapes? Those are all not found in nature, they have been developed by farmers, botanists over the years. There are many more fruit and vegetable varieties that have been grafted, or 'nudged' in some way by humans to create a bigger yield or enhance color, flavor and size of produce.
