I do not own any of Tosca's book but I have checked them out from the library and read them. It is great to learn about basic life changes you need to make inorder to make a permanent life change. When I first started the basic things your suppose to do according to her book to start eating clean I was sick for a while. Then after I got use to it I kindof relapsed on fast food and let me tell you I felt so sick it was a feeling like never before its just hard to stick to it but once you do its so worth it your body feels so much better.

It really works! I thought it sounded gimmicky at first too, but gave it a try. At first it gave me bad stomach aches. After several months I still take a couple of tb. daily in a shot glass with warm water. It no longer gives my stomach aches and it keeps me regular. (I really had problems with this.)
Maybe a coincidence but I broke a year long plateau and finally reached my goal.

What's up with the apple cider vinegar? I've never heard of this. Sounds like one of those gimicky things like cayenne pepper flushes and what not.

I'm a little behind on this thread, but thanks for posting a review! I don't own any of her books, but I've been known to pick up an Oxygen or Clean Eating magazine for recipes and whatnot, and the book sounded promising. Sounds like I'll just stick to the occasional magazine.

My grandmother (my dad's mom) who lived on a farm and lived to be 94 did 2T of apple cider vinegar in warm water every morning. She said that it was very healthy-but it had to be apple cider. They did not advertise or sell "organic" vinegars back then, but then I guess there was a lot less of the pesticides, etc.

Thanks! I had a flip through it in the bookstore and didn't see too much that was new info. I think I might try the tip about taking two tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar in water everyday though. Supposedly it is supposed to help move fat through your system more quickly - don't know if this is hokey or for real but I can't see how it would hurt!

FITCHICK and CAROLYN on Fabulous Fitness are doing it together and are having good results. Check it out. I have considerably more to lose and may try Recharged, except someone said it called for bee pollen, and I'm allergic. But someone else said that it could be done sans bee pollen.

I looked at the book in the bookstore, and I wasn't impressed. Which is a bummer-I really only have 10 pounds that I would like to loose.

Thanks, I was going to ask my daughter to buy and bring it when she comes in 2 weeks. I guess she can use that weight and space to bring something else like maybe almond butter-yum!

Thanks so much for writing this, I was thinking of buying it, but I already have Eat Clean & Eat Clean Recharged, so I was on the fence, thanks for the tips in the new book & saving me some money, going to skip this one!

OK. I got the book. Had to see what kind of "secret information" Tosca has been holding back. lol

PROS:

Good tips on how to conquer cravings

She says to just GIVE UP sugar. Hooray!

Good section on herbs, roots and superfoods. "Herbs for health and weightloss"

She has limited starchy carbs to 1-2 servings per day

Meal plans look do-able

She reinforces portion size and portion control

Talks about organic is better. And it is better than non-rorganic. Not simply for the reasons of less toxins like pesticides and insecticides but also (and she didn't mention this), that when you buy organic you are guaranteed an NON GMO food product.

She has added coconut and coconut oils to her recipes. YAY!


CONS:

She promises you the ULTIMATE DREAM body in 28 days.

She has changed her take on margarine. It USED to be "good" now it's "bad". No further explanation...

Saturated fat is "bad". She doesn't really seem to know the difference between different types of saturated fats. If she does know she doesn't explain this...

Talks about organic meats being better. But I would take grass fed meats over organic everyday.

She says that we should always drink distilled water. Distilled water is like a sponge and is great to take for periods of detoxification or when chelating heavy metals from your body. Long term use will deplete all of your body's meineral stores

The recipes look OK, but nothing really original or wonderful. Also, I think that most people will have a hard time finding foods like wild boar and elk or be bothered to cook things like duck.

Ummm. HEY! I thought she said NO SUGAR for this 28 day diet, yet there it is in her recipes.

She is still using soy, tofu and tilapia in her recipes. emoticon


FINAL NOTE: Save your money. Nothing new in here and just more conflicting information from Tosca. I hope my wasting my money on this book has saved some of you some of your hard earned cash.
