Hi,

Thanks for your responses. My period is over ~ Yeah! However, the pain that I was experiencing was not just that crampy feeling but worse ~ the type that makes you want to cry and/or scream. I was afraid to even move. I lied down on my bed and put my feet up on the headboard. I rubbed my tummy and that seemed to help a little. I had taken 1 extra strength Advil every 4 hours, as indicated on the bottle but during my night in pain, I took 2 in 1/2 hour because the cramps were so painful and I could not fall asleep. It was 12:45am before I finally fell asleep.

I felt better the next day ~ normal menstrual cramps. I continued to take extra strength Advil and by the 3rd day, I was okay.

I don't remember experiencing this much pain in the past. I think maybe I did when I was 18 and needed to get a cyst removed from my ovary. I'm going to keep an eye on my periods so that if it happens again, I will ask my doctor to do an ultrasound just to make sure that everything is well.

Ibuprofen usually works pretty well (at least at first) so I do still work out.

Strong is the new skinny!!

Back when I use to get really bad cramps i like to curl into a little ball :).

Actually laying on your back and doing a full tug of war stretch can help, but if it really hurts don't push it.

I'd try walking.

can't get more natural than that :).

I have been feeling really tired and very sore after my workouts this week. I thought perhaps it had to do with the fact that I was working extra hours, training hard and possibly not eating enough.

Well, I woke up this morning at 5:30am because I was hungry. I had a snack (yogurt and fresh raspberries) and then went to the bathroom. It was then that I discovered I had a visitor! I understood why I was having chocolate cravings and pain in my lower abdomen all week!!

So, I decided not to workout today because I was in a lot of pain (cramps) and feeling tired. I took a break today, rested and did some reading. I also took a few Advils but they are not working as effectively as I thought they would. Maybe I will drink some homemade Limoncello!! lol.

I have some questions I wanted to ask all the ladies who experience the cramps and tiredness.

1. Do you continue to workout or rest?

2. What foods do you eat to help you during this time?

3. Do you take any supplements or natural remedies?

I know that exercise helps alleviate the pain but when your in pain already and feeling physically tired, I don't think that it will make much of a difference; at least for the first few days.
