Apparently I am a freak. I enjoy Greek yogurt plain. However, you might kill two birds with one stone...Make a Waldorf salad with Greek yogurt, sliced apples and walnuts.

You can also make dips and dressings out greek yogurt.
My fave is: Yogurt and Cucumber Salad from Healthy Mediterranean Cooking by Rena Salaman

1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 teaspoon wine vinegar
1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
8 oz. plain Greek yogurt
Salt
4 inch piece of Cucumber, peeled and grated
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Mint
Served Chilled!

I like mine over grilled chicken breast.

I eat my plain yogurt with fresh fruits (blueberries or pineapples mmm...) and some cinnamon or agave nectar. emoticon Sometimes I add half of an Odawa bar. I love it!

While not plain - it is "Tosca" legal. I tried Agave Nectar on mine for the first time today and I am WAY impressed. Not as sweet as honey, but great flavor.

I really love plain Greek yogurt but I know it's not for everyone!

Sometimes I mix it with mixed berries, as of recent though, I've gotten into putting about a teaspoon and half of Vanilla sugar (can't remember if we have it in the US) and a teaspoon of cinnamon.

I just realised the email I used for Sparkpeople has been dead for a year! :( Did you add me and I didn't add you back? *Send me a message in my sparkmail/wall*

I usually put chia seeds and honey on top of mine. When I dont have honey I use agave nectar that I bought from whole foods. Tastes great.

I eat plain greek yogurt almost everyday and I love it.

My breakfast yogurt consists of:
1/2c plain 0% Fage greek yogurt mix with a touch of stevia for a little sweetness
1/4c oats
1/2 oz raw walnuts
10g natural raisins (or 1/4c fresh berries if I have them)
½ oz chia seeds

This is just about my favorite breakfast of all time! It’s satisfying and it’s soooo yummy!

I also use 0% plain greek yogurt as a sub for sour cream, it’s perfect!

Ok, so I'm back from a vacation and trying to get back into my routine. I bought some plain greek yogurt again this week. This morning I poured into a cup, mashed a banana into it and added a little cinnamon and it was actually much, much better! I think I could actually start liking and looking forward to it!! :)

A little bit of honey or using fruit is a good solution. Stevia works too.

I micro my frozen blueberries just enough so the juices are running, then mix in the yogurt, some vanilla protein powder and ground flaxseed, yummy!

Here's some ingredients for homemade ranch dressing that is devoid of the stuff that is in the bottled kind (even so-called "natural" or "organic" dressing can have junk in it)

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Whisk this together and let it sit at least 30 minutes before serving.

Try to find organic and pure dried seasonings.

Here's a recipe that uses all fresh ingredients:

Hope these are ideas someone can use.

I actually mix mine with various things. Sometimes fruit. Sometimes oats. My fave is to add almond butter in it because my biggest challenge is getting enough fat. :)

You're right about the vanilla helping. I love vanilla in yogurt; Greek or regular.

If you don't like the sticky thickness of Greek-style yogurt then maybe just plain yogurt is for you. It's the same thing only with all the whey left in. I'm talking here about plain, pure (no thickeners, goopyizers, or other added ingredients) yogurt made with only milk and cultures. It's great! And then, if you want you can make Greek-style yogurt from it by letting it drain through a coffee filter on a strainer. You can make it as thick or thin as you like.

Use yogurt, regular or Greek-style the same way you would use sour cream. It can even stand in for whipped cream on some things.

Cut up bananas, cinnamon, stevia powder & yogurt all mixed up together. Or honey if you just can't stand stevia...a zillion ideas come to mind...or add a couple of eggs to it, spread it in a whole wheat crust, bake it and you've got a banana cream pie...well, that's just an idea that popped into my head...Ooooh wait, add some cocoa powder and make it a chocolate banana cream pie!

Since I don't get to eat very much I like to at least TALK about food!

I add pure vanilla and some stevia. You can also mix in pureed fruit. I like my yogurt smooth with no chunks, but if you don't mind them, you can rough chop the fruit too.

Try the brand 'Fage' (2%). Simply delicious. Already strained (extra thick). I am a 'chip and dip' kind of gal. My true weakness.

My favorite snack is 1 container of Fage yogurt (6 oz.). Mixed with ranch type dip mix (I get mine at the health food store. Mix it up and let it chill for about 2 hours. Serve with one serving of veggie chips--Central Market Brand. So Good! I also eat it with fresh cut up raw veggies.

I also use this with homemade salsa. Great for taco salads. Makes a great dressing.

I've always eaten greek yogurt with flavor, but I decided to try it plain. So I'm sitting here eating it and it is roouugggghhh! Thank goodness I had some cinnamon at my desk. It's helping, but not much.

What to you add to keep it "clean", but edible? :)
