One of my vitamins must be synthetic, and that is B12. It rarely occurs in plant sources, and then only in slight amounts. I read that it can be grown with algae or something like that (I don't remember the deal with that), however it is almost always synthetic.

Thank you for sharing this article! It really makes you think what products out there really contain the full supplements needed to be healthy. There are too many labels out there that state "Contains 100% Vitamin C" when it is only synthetic!
I've always liked to take vitamins, but unfortunately now that I read this article its making me second guess that. Perhaps I need to do more research!

Thanks. I will have to check-my son does Shaklee and they claimed that most on the counter vitamins don't even dissolve in your stomach before being cast off. I don't have any here to check the ingredients, only my senior vitamins over-the-counter ones.

Now THAT was an awesome article. I try to get my vit. thru whole foods but now my "Mega Man" GNC supplement is looking like a waste, maybe even bad?!?!? I have to admit - I never felt "better" when taking supplements. Maybe a placibo effect.
