I agree with everyone else on the whole peanut butter, nut butter, avocados etc. especially having a handful of nuts. Start your day with oatmeal, you get calories and fiber and pair that with some fruit and whole grain bread with any type of nut butter, fill you up and its right around 300 or more calories. for a snack have a handful of nuts, lunch have a salad some tofu or something like that (sorry i'm thinking chicken salad but you cant have that) with some protein and some fruit. for a snack have an apple and some nut butter as well. eat a regular dinner that you would have as well. That should get you to your calorie range, at least 1200 though. the issue of only have 900 calories is not good at all for your body. your body will think it is in starvation mode and you will not lose weight. i agree with working out though becuase your body will require more fuel and you will be hungry. try protein shakes after your work out and it can be made with water.

I also agree with the protein shakes along with the nuts, beans, peanut butter and olive oil. These are healthy fats and a good workout along with weights will increase your appetite enough to desire them.

No longer do I rush the process; instead I embrace and enjoy it!

Here's another reason you shouldn't be scared to work out... it will help regulate your appetite and you will crave things like beans, tofu, rice (and whatever protein you're allowed to have) - it will probably help you up the intake a bit without even thinking about it. Good work! emoticon

I've have been using beans and tofu to replace my protein. I must admit that tofu and I aren't the best of friends. I can't seem to make it quite right. lol. I don't eat dairy, I am was trying to lay off the fish for a while to see if I could do the vegetarian thing. Let's just say its not looking good. I miss fish! :O( It looks like I am going to go back to fish in my diet. I didn't have any problems with protein or calorie intake when I ate it.

Definitely agree with the last two post. try adding nuts, they have protein and healthy fats.
However, I wish i could say that with only 900 calories a day I wasn't hungry. (LOL)

Adding in higher caloric foods is a great idea like avocados and peanut butter, nuts....

But, what foods are you using to replace the protein. Your body needs protein - are you eating eggs, tofu, cheese, will you eat fish? Quinoa is a grain that has a lot of protein in it, Greek yogurt is also high in protein.

If you dont want to eat more food then think about incorporating high calorific items to your eating plan, such as nuts. A small portion can boost your calorie intake quite significantly. Same goes for using olive oil, and peanut butter. These are all healthy fats of course : )

You could add protien shakes to your diet as well. If you start working out, eating breakfast first thing in the morning, I gaurantee you, you will be hungry and maybe that will help you eat more. I make myself eat a bowl of steel cut oats with blueberries and 3-5 egg whites and I am ready to eat after my workouts. Lotsa luck to you.

Well, if you feel healthy and you feel filled up with only 900 calories then you probably shouldn't worry. Maybe you could just add some healthy fats. If you're not getting fats that could be a problem. Do you like peanut butter? that'll add up the calories for you!! And any other nut butter you can get. And nuts, by themselves--very healthy and full of calories! Most of the rest of us out here have to severely limit these things in order to lose weight.

Also, if you don't mind dairy you should add some organic, grass fed butter to your green beans. If you can't do dairy then I suggest another very excellent thing--coconut oil. It's by far the most healthy oil you can consume. Make sure it's organic and pure and not treated with chemicals.

Best of luck.

I am 5 feet even. I weigh about 150.....which is kinda big for my height. Its not that I don't have an appetite. The problem is that the foods that I eat don't have a high caloric value. For instance, I had a bowl of string beans and it filled me up, but it was only like 70 calories. I am trying to add foods like beans, brown rice, etc that have more calories..... I am trying out the vegetarian thing so I have to replace the calories I would normally consume eating meat.

I would suggest going onto wowy.com and checking out the forums. That's beachbody.com website. I tried a lower caloric intake, and working out, and found that I got stuck for MONTHS because I wasn't eating enough! Once I upped my food intake, the weight started dropping. I'm doing P90x now and eating clean (which seem to go hand in hand). Good luck, hope it helps.

Maybe you are a tiny person. How tall are you? 900 calories does seem pretty low.
Exercise won't hurt you at all. Don't do it to burn calories, do it to strengthen muscle and be fit.
If you have no appetite and/or are mysteriously losing weight or can't seem to gain when you are sure you are underweight then for goodness sake go see a doctor!!! Get professional advice.

Hi guys!
I started eating clean this week, but I am scared to workout. Why? Well, because I don't feel like I am getting enough calories.... I tallied them up one day and I barely got 900. What am I doing wrong? I could eat more, but I am not hungry....
