As a novice I can't really give advice but only say this. Yesterday was my first real day of clean eating and I did very well. Today however my meal plans were already planned weeks in advance and I did not eat clean. I don't feel as well today physically as I did yesterday and I know it's the food but tomorrow is a new day and I can't look back. With that said, it's Easter, just enjoy.

Don't count the days-make the days count! (my mom told me this when I was counting down the days to my wedding. It was the best advice she ever gave me.)

I usually have a few days in the year that family comes before clean eating.

Today is one of them, the other days are Christmas day, and Thanks Giving.

Sometimes you just gotta grin and suck it up!!!!LOL!!!

Have fun and enjoy the day.....it's a life journey so hang on and enjoy the ride!!!!

As someone who is recovering from a day of not eating clean... I would give yourself some leeway in order to enjoy the family time but take it easy with how much you eat that's not clean. Your body is no longer used to all that stuff and you will pay for it!

Hi Ya'll,

yes ham does have the sodium & nitrates, your first posted said your moms was making a ham aka a fresh ham not a prepackage ham slices or deli ham hence why i said it was fine.

Ya'll seem to have this day marked as a cheat day. Dont go crazy BUT enjoy yourself.

I love ham, but it is high in sodium and nitrates. (NITRATES BAD!). But, you know what? I've already had several of those damn mini eggs, and now I'm going to a friends for Easter BRUNCH. Who knows what they are serving. i've sort of written off today, already! LOL! I think one day of cheating; If I count, Easter, Halloween, Christmas & my Birthday four days cheating per year. i think that is OK.
Happy Easter! Sorry I'm not much support... I'm WEAK! emoticon

Hi Ya'll,

actually a small slice {somewhere between 2-8 oz} of ham without any sauce on it is fine & clean & same with the veggies.

HTH

remember, its Easter..enjoy the family & dont worry bout the food for one day. One day will not kill ya :)
