It is a trial. I tired this "meal plan" and it just was not for me. I was not aware everything involved. There was not enough calories in my diet and I worked out 4 days. My body craved fuel and a doughnut is quick energy and fat. I learned a lot from that meal plan. I really enjoyed the dinner and found out I loved fresh berries at night for dessert. But I also need more fuel if I am going to keep up with my work out routine. I am not going to beat myself up for the binges. But I did learn from it.

I need to hear people say "there is a lot going on in my life" because I so often read all this stuff and think I should be able to do everything perfectly all at once and that is a sure road to despair and failure for me. So the little bit at a time and the general growing awareness keep me inching forward.

Redfoxy, I am trying to clean up my diet. However, there are many changes going on in my life and it is easier for me to make gradual changes. I did eat an ice cream cone, but I did not buy a pint and take home the left overs. And PMS really does not help.

I think the sweet spurges of last week was lack of fuel and my body wanted quick boost of energy. I have since changed my diet.

So I guess this thread would be good for all the people who say they could never try to "eat clean" because they would miss the little splurges... After a while those really don't feel good. There are things I slip up on and I have noticed that each slip is smaller than the last because it feels so YUCK!

My GF uses Toms. She swears by it. It is "natural" and does not contain fluoride. I am going to get some the next time I am in Costco.

"How about chew and spit in stead of chew and swallow? LOL"

Yep, let's treat everything that's unnatural as toothpaste! :)

Actually, does anyone here use some sort of 'clean' toothpaste? I hate knowing that sorbitol is entering my system, no matter how careful I am to rinse my mouth thoroughly... And sorbitol is the better options, looking at other toothpastes in the average supermarket!

I did have a small sugar cone with some really good ice cream. I had spent the afternoon walking and still had an hour to go. I walked it off and I did not feel too bad. Still, it is a reminder to stay away. Why eat something that is going to make me feel ill? Is the taste worth the pain? How about chew and spit in stead of chew and swallow? LOL

Aw, I still eat fried food, but I do it the healthy way - white fish, dipped in egg then almond flour then egg then parmesan (YUM!), then shallow-fried in coconut (or red palm) oil. Perfection! Nothing wrong with frying as long as you take wheat and polyunsaturated fats out of the equation.

I'm often tempted by 'butter-flavoured' popcorn at the movies, or sweet biscuits at work, but I'm still going strong with a perfect record since Jan 1st! Thank goodness for my good, clean dark choc to help me cope with TOM hormone-imbalances!

I cooked up some experimental 'hot cross bun'-void fillers yesterday; turned out more like almond/cinnamon muffins. Still delicious, with a cross of melted dark choc on top, but I felt a bit off afterwards - my body is obviously out of practice when faced with a lump of carb coming at it! If even the good carbs in isolation make me weak, it's even more support to stay well away from the bad ones!

I love fried foods!! fried crawfish, french fries, love them. It's been 3 months since I've had anything fried. Except last night - the American legion (which we are members of) has a fish fry every Friday evening during Lent. We went (DH and I) and had fried catfish and hushpuppies - I did pass on the french fries and coleslaw. It did taste good, but I did not feel very well last night. So, for me, it's not worth it. Back on track today.

I gave up deep fried foods and alcohol for lent. I joke about eating deep fried vodka for Easter. But seriously, I was thinking of what yummy fried food I would want to eat, but I think I would end up making myself sick. Don't know, maybe that would be a good thing.

Fried foods and any attempt at fast food. Every once in a while I would like to indulge in fried fish and french fries, but my body simply CANNOT handle them anymore. My last attempt had me up all night with a vicious stomach ache. And I know that is definitely a good thing.

I had to quit with the M&Ms too. They look good and sound good and make my mouth water, but they make me sick to eat. I probably could eat a few without getting sick, but I can't stop at a few. I don't think about them as much as I used to either.

I've also noticed that the meals I used to have with no problem now make me bloated and nauseous. I take it as a good sign.

I'm not even super strict with the eating clean, but I'm definitely eating healthier than I was. Now, a QP w/cheese doesn't even know how to digest in my stomach anymore. I guess that's good, but man, I used to enjoy those!

I remember loving chinese food and chocolate bars!!!!Gosh, that feels like a life time ago!!!

I still have the occasional after dinner mint chocolate :"After Eight" only 45 cals and it's just enough!!!

Other than that I'm just too wise now to go back to the old way of eating....:)

That happens to me too when I eat some of what use to be my favorite foods. Now I end up sick to my stomach!

I know what you mean... I USED to be such a chocoholic. Not the good kind, but the really bad for you stuff.
I went to the movies last week, and I thought how good I had been, so I allowed myself a CHEAT. I got the BIG size Kit Kat CHUNKY bar. I also thought I might be sick afterwards. It was soooo SWEET!
That is good, though... I won't do that again!

I have been doing a really good job of cleaning up my diet and eating more organic and local. in the last 1.5 weeks I had a slice of pizza with cake, a truffle and a chocolate doughnut. I love these things. However, I now feel nauseous when I eat them. In a way I am sad, but I am also happy. Now when I am going to indulge I am going to be very selective.
