honey....interesting question. I am glad you asked.

I did not see it in the book anywhere...I could be wrong. If it is a natural source, I do not see why not. I personally do not eat it. However, my kids do. The brand we use is a all natural. It is a source of calories and carbs/sugar only. Per Tbsp 60 calories, 17 g carbs and 16g sugar. As anything...I would say in moderation.

Anyone else know anything about honey?

KARALVS2SCRAP-That baked oatmeal sounds yum. IS it dry or mosit and creamy..does it taste good when warmed throught the weeek?

FINDINGBEAU-I dont think my protien powder likes the heat of the oatmeal cause when i add it to the oats it has a white looking color

My favorite breakfast is one already mentioned. Oat meal! Yummy and good for you! Steel cut oats with wheat germ and ground flax seed, some almonds and walnuts as well as raisins or cranberries and a dash of cinnamon.
I eat that most every day. The odd day I will have a toasted whole wheat english muffin or a small whole wheat wrap with some low fat cheese or cottage cheese on it and a scrambled egg white cooked with green peppers, onions, mushrooms and zucchini.

One of my favs is egg whites with my fav veggies (spinach tomatoes, and mushrooms), some fresh garlic, wrapped into a wholegrin tortilla with some yummy salsa or curry.

Or Cottage cheese and fruit like yummy fresh pineapple or strawberries.sprinkle with
slivered almonds

Anytime shake: 2 servings
1/2 banana, 1/2 cup srawberries, 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 1 egg white, 1 cup ice, 1/2 cup fat-free milk
Blend for one minute, and enjoy! It’s great for breakfast, or for an easy meal when your in a hurry!

Golden (Protein) Pancakes
1 cup oats, 1 cup cottage cheese, 6 egg whites, cinnamon, vanilla extract, Splenda (mix all in blender!) Sweet Potato Protein Pancakes: (these are so good – you don't even need syrup!) 4 oz (peeled, mashed) sweet potato (1), 4 egg whites, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, Splenda

Pumpkin (or sweet potato) Protein Pancakes
(These are good cold too – as a quick snack, right out of the fridge!)
5 oz (canned) pumpkin,4 egg whites, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, Splenda

Protein Oatmeal: (this is really good as a cold snack later -or reheated!)
Irish/Steel-Cut Oatmeal w/ vanilla protein powder & either berries, bananas, or raisins & cinnamon (if you can’t get steel-cut oats, use regular slow-cook oats!)

TIP: make a couple batches at a time—to have enough for a few days!)

I put a lot of stuff in my eggs like cut up veggies, cottage cheese and mix it all up ...scramble it and put it on a eat-clean approved wrap or pita.

I don't use any oils...I use non-stick spray...a little sea salt and black pepper.

Oatmeal is ok for me, but I really enjoy smoothies. Here is what is in mine.
*10oz of low fat vanilla soy milk
* 1 cup of whole frozen strawberries
* 1 scoop of whey protein powder
* a little bit of water

Mix in a blender. It is very good! IMO..

I eat oatmeal with 3 to 4 egg whites cooked in the oatmeal with cinnamon and flax meal every morning. YUMMY and clean. If you read in Tosca's book she suggests oatmeal. If I am in a hurry I'll do a protien shake with berries and orange juice.
