I try to limit my dairy for other reasons. Altho I also try to limit soy somewhat, too -- seems everything is problematic!

I am not a vegan, but you'd be surprised at the great vegan food out there. I actually do eat vegan a lot.

I'm reviewing some wonderful vegan cookbooks at the blog in my sig -- really, it's come a long way. Which is not to say I'm pushing veganism, since I'm not even one myself, just that you can incorporate good vegan food into your life.

I do love cheese, tho; I try to limit it. Sometimes it's a real balancing act!

Yeah, the taste is something I'm not sure I'll get used to. The yogurt isn't too bad. I really like goat cheese, but the milk tastes like that too, which doesn't seem right. I will try this for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference.

Hey!!! I don't have a problem with inflammation, but I do eat alot of salmon, tuna, eggs and chicken.I do use protien powders after lifting as well, but my meals are planned in advance and I stay at the low end of the protein intake levels(110-115g I would stay at 100gs.)

I feel bloated after steak. So I kinda stay away from it.

Are you consuming at the top of your levels???

Maybe you're sensitive to one of the protiens.

Goat's milk should help if you can stomach the taste, since the molecules are most similar to breast milk (isn't that a lovely picture). I'm not a fan of soy due to the estrogenic properties and the fact that most of it is GMO (unless you get certified organic, of course). However, you should notice that you don't get the same response in your body should you do yogurt of kefir, again because it's pre-digested and therefore your body doesn't see it as much like a foreign invader.

As for veganism, eh. Not for me, but we do a ton of raw vegan food around here (just toss me a little feta on the top, please)! If you'd like ideas for vegan food that's tasty, you can check out greensmoothiegirl.com. We use lots of Robyn's stuff around here, including the green smoothie itself!

I tried a vegan diet for a few days but couldn't take it. Now I am trying goat's milk and yogurt with soy protein powder.

Yeah, I keep it to a minimum. I don't do well on a vegan diet, but do some dairy (4 oz or less of milk, 1 oz or less of cheese) most days. We eat meat usually once a week because I start to crave it. Otherwise, we abstain since it makes me tired and so stinknig congested. That's why you get all mucousy after consuming non-fermented dairy (yogurt, kefir, etc), your body is fighting hard against what we just put into it!

I never thought I had any problems with dairy or animal proteins, but now I am beginning to wonder. I have developed a case of chronic tendonitis that has persisted for 7 months. I just started acupuncture, and one of the suggestions was to cut out meat and dairy because they can contribute to inflammation. When I couldn't run anymore due to the injury, I started lifting weights and consuming substantially more protein than before, mostly in the form of dairy products and whey protein powder. Have any of you ever had a problem like this?
