Hahah OK, i think i'm definitely going to stay away! My oatmeal tastes gruel-y enough. ;)

I added fresh strawberries to mine, and really - ew. the second day, i added cinnamon and fresh strawberries. a little less ew. but, of course I ate it and will continue because i figure i'll either get used to it or i'll just keep experimenting.

I'm trying to think what exactly it tastes like, but having a hard time describing it.
I added 1 Tbsp to my oatmeal after it was cooked. That 1 Tbsp overpowered my whole bowl of oatmeal. At first it tastes a bit sweet but that is immediately followed by a funky stale taste that is hard for me to describe. Not pleasant; it is not worth the flavor because I can't say I noticed any benefit. I may take Eternalmother's suggestion and put my granules in gelatin capsules, just so they don't go to waste.

What does it taste like? Is it bitter? Sweet? Cardboardy?

I've never tried it. I would like to, but would it be beneficial, who knows!!!

I did start to take the COQ10 enzyme and that made a HUGE difference in energy levels!!!

I take bee pollen in capsules, 3 per day. I find that they give me more energy.
I use the Nature's Way brand. They seem to be the least expensive and easiest to find.

Skymama....if you mix it in with your oatmeal before you cook it, it doesn't taste like you're eating a beehive. (Of course the cooking of it might make it not do whatever it is supposed to do.) I used mine up that way and then didn't purchase it anymore since I really couldn't tell a difference.

You can get vegetarian or other gelatin capsules that are empty to fill with the bee pollen so you don't have to taste it.

I havent tried it yet because I'm allergic to flowers/pollen... But like everyone else, I've heard many mixed reviews.

Thanks. I did some research before I bought mine and for every positive endorsement I found, I could also find a negative one. I guess we won't know until somebody somewhere does a better study on bee pollen. I have a huge jar in my fridge (taking up precious space) and I don't want to throw it away if it worth the space it takes up. But I don't really like the taste (I've been mixing in my oatmeal). I guess I'll hang on to it for a while longer hoping someone has a great bee pollen experience to share with us! HA!

I bought it after reading The Eat Clean Diet, too. I used it for a while...adding it to my oatmeal but for the life of me, I have no idea if it helped or not. Sorry.

I bought the fancier version "Royal Jelly". That's the stuff that the Queen bee eats. I paid over $50 for the jar and I have no idea if it did anything, I never bought it again. Just my experience..

Some people believe that if you get bee pollen from local bees, your allergies will lessen. My personal experience is that if you get bee pollen from the store it doesn't help but if you get local from the farmer's market it does. JMHO

I've been Eating Clean since June 17th, 2008. I've never felt better and my mood is better too! I am constantly trying to learn more about the Eating Clean lifestyle. In Tosca Reno's book she recommends Bee Pollen, but I have found several articles out there that say Bee Pollen does nothing for humans. Anyone have more information?
