Most milk chocolate has 35% chocolate solids. To be called dark chocolate, I think the percentage is either 50% or 62%. Extra dark is 72% and up. I've seen dark chocolate as high as 92% but I would guess there wouldn't be much sweetener in that. I've just joined the team myself and just bought the book. Why do I know so much about chocolate??? I have to admit, I'm a chocolate snob. Give me chocolate or give me death. At least I like the dark stuff.
yum, That sounds like that might do the trick. I love dark chocolate. How do I know what % of dark chocolate it is? Must say on the label? I am anxious to get my eat clean book to really take a look how my eating has been. I always say "I do not eat that much and I eat healthy", but I bet once I read this eat clean book I will realize it has not been such a good way of eating. Have many of you found this to be true?

Aloha and Welcome! I too have found that since eating clean my cravings for sweets have dwindled and many times fruit can satisfy me. But dark chocolate, greater than 70% is a good alternative. SP has an article about it if you want to check it out.

to the team! I know when I am craving something sweet, I will have yogurt, fruit or even a little piece of really dark chocolate (ie 70% or higher).

Hey Denise. I just bought the eating clean diet book and cookbook yesterday. I need to fine tune my diet and this is going to do the trick. For me, extra dark chocolate staves off those cravings. I buy dark chocolate chips and eat five by letting each one melt in my mouth individually. I also buy high cocoa content chocolate(60% or higher) for a sweet treat. It just takes a little and has antioxidants. The key for me is letting each piece melt in my mouth slowly. Wishing you the best.
Hello, I am new to he eating clean sp team and just order the eating clean book by Tosca. I am very excited about getting it and start following a cleaner eating plan. One thing I seem to have a difficult time with is I do crave something sweet every now and then and just do not know what I can eat to satisfy this. I have tried sugar free popsycles but they do not do the trick. Any ideas?
