There was a recipe for a parfait in Oxygen this month. It was yogurt, a scoop of whey protein powder, Kashi Go lean Crunch, and berries. It looked delicious and I now have the makings for one. Although, berries are so expensive, if it becomes a staple for me, I will probably substitute grapes or something like that a lot of the time.

I use granola, but watch the portion size as the calorie content can be very high! Kashi Go Lean Crunch could be used successfully.

I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.

I drained my yogurt (best thing I have ever done) I think i will become addicted to it. I added oatmeal, cinnamon, vanilla and honey. It was great! I sucessfully made a parfait!Do you use oatmeal for just preference? I was thinking of trying granola or kashi lean crunch??

I really like this one. It is pretty crunchy without being overly caloric, overly processed or hard on the teeth.

I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.

i will try to do it like that and when i am ready to eat it mix not before..i need to find a suitable granola mix

Yep, I take a baggie of the berries, a baggie of the granola, plus the container of yogurt and mix before eating. The McDonald's parfaits do melt a bit, but because they have a rather large layer of granola the water content of the yogurt and fruit doesn't get all the way into it. Also, the granola they use is probably pretty tough and can take the moisture. Plus the yogurt isn't very watery and I can guarantee you that they don't use high water content berries. You'd be amazed at all the research that goes into those products for exactly that purpose.

My company was involved in the McDonald's Fruit & Walnut Salad (as a supplier in the early stages/development). It was amazing to see...

I got the berries and the granola at Costco. I preproportioned the berries into a baggie the night before and left it in the freezer. Then I have an hour commute, so the berries were just in a grocery bag along with the rest of my food on the way, and then in the fridge for about 1.5 hours. It was still pretty cold/almost still frozen. It was perfect! And the granola kept its texture too (the seeds in it help with the crunch too).

Where do you get the 30 g Nature's Path Organic Pumpkin FlaxPlus Granola ?? Also I made some today and the fruit and yougurt are all melted together. I took the frozen fruit and defrosted it lastnight then added the yougurt this morning.

4 oz activia yogurt
30 g Nature's Path Organic Pumpkin FlaxPlus Granola

I make them for breakfast sometimes.
Greek yogurt (with stivia and cinnamon stirred in)
Go lean cereal
Strawberries Blue berries

I do 2 layers.

The greek yogurt is 13 gram of protein and the cereal is 12 or 13.

In the old days it was layer of pound cakes, then whipped cream and peaches in light syrup.

Oh my times have changed :)
