Thanks everyone! I live in Lafayette, LA. I've never heard of Rouse's. Where is it? I might have to go on a trip.
NOR1498 - I started out on WW in Jan of 2007 and lost about 20 pounds or so. Then by September another 20 and then nothing. So I consulted a dietician and I'm working with her. WW just didn't work for me because of the menopause thingie. I've read so many great things and success stores about eating clean. I refuse to believe that 50 year old people w/the menopause issue cannot loose weight!!

Aunt Ginny, I live in Louisiana too. What exactly are you having problems finding? Do you have a Rouse's? I can get most of the things I need at Rouse's and Whole Foods. I shop almost exclusively at Rouse's, but I can find some things at Winn Dixie and Walmart if I have to go to either of those. Everyone once in a while I take a trip to Whole Foods but it is a bit far for me to drive.
Here I am learning about me a little bit more everyday. This week's lesson is it is okay when you screw up to ask for help!

Hello I am much in the same position as you I am post menopause, on steriods and I started Clean Eating and Calorie cycling and I am finally losing weight after about a year of doing WW and working out faithfully at the gym and not losing anything!
I found SP by accident and lurked for awhile saying this won't work....it does. I have lost slowly but surely 20 lbs since Oct. I just completed my first week of Clean Eating and lost 1.8 pounds. I am very happy I am here!
I too am looking for online sites to shop I have found Bobs Red Mill he has alot of stuff but haven'e ordered anything yet.
I think you most definitely can lose weight by eating clean! Plus it's the healthiest way to eat. Just monitor your calorie intake and try a 40% carb 30% protein 30% fat ratio to start. I live in Holland so I don't really have access to the fancier foods but the foundation should most definitely be fresh whole foods. Good luck!

Ladies - I'm a newbee having just purchased Tosca's cookbook and getting into the Eating Clean. I have not lost any weight in 6 months on a restricted diet. I've been seeing a dietician every two weeks for monitoring. I'm firmly convinced that I am eating the wrong foods is the reason that the weight won't come off. I have a strict schedule of cardio & weight lifting and still the weight won't budge. So I'm coming over to the Eating Clean lifestyle but I can't find a lot of the ingredients from Tosca's cookbook locally. I live in South Louisiana and we cook everything in pure butter and grease with a glove of garlic and a can of red pepper. We do have two health food stores in our town but they don't carry all of the good ingredients so I guess I can do a search on line. I was wondering if any of you can recommend good on-line places to order from that you have personally used? I would most appreciate your feed-back.
P.S. I just turned 50 so my doctor thinks my weight problem is menopause. Can a person loose weight in menopause by eating clean?
