Thank you! It's great to know there are people out there willing to help and support us.

I think what I need is help figuring out how to compensate for the lack of exercise. I can't do any because of my leg. I can barely walk let alone exercise. This is not normal for me and I'm not used to it. I need to call the Dr and find out what's going on, but until I do, I still can't put much weight on it.

I would love to see a thread of what others have eaten so far or something like that. I have the book, but lent it to my mom. If I was confused or flustered and can't seem to find my way out of the potato chip bag, I'd like to know there was a thread where I could log on and see exactly what you guys are choosing and know it's a good choice for me. Does that make any sense??

Hi Ya'll,

Do the best i can with eating, chalk it up to part of life, dont beat myself for it & move on.

After all, tomorrow is another day. Pull yourself up by your socks, see it as a bump in the road, learn from it, figure out the baby steps to the path of recovery.

Can ya'll fit in 2, 5 or 10 minutes of some sort of exercise? Food wise, whats easy & healthy? Motivation wise--ya'll already took a step....you posted you need help AND ya'll recognize the pattern--great job!

How can people here help you?

I think veering off my clean way of eating could be why I feel so sluggish all the time too. It never dawned on me, but after reading this, I bet that's what my problem is. It's a cycle too, once I am too tired to exercise, I'm too tired to eat well, which is what's making me too tired to exercise. Please help break me out of this mess..

eating healthy is the way to go this year. As far as combining foods. I know that eating protein with vegys is a great combination and adding fiber to your diet is excellent for cleaning out the colon. Try it. It works. You can eat fruit alone if you choose to.

Our liver, kidneys & skin remove free radicals & other harmful toxins that damage our cells. But depending on what you eat, drink, your age & any underlying health conditions your body may not be able to remove all of the toxins as efficiently as it should.

Increasing your fiber will help to detox as well. The recommendation is 14 grams of fiber for every 1,000 calories consumed each day…

Hi Ya'll,

from my understanding--eating clean is the easiest way to detox.

There has been info on both sides on a detox diet, i hope it goes well for you.

Right now I am looking at maximizing digestion because I am sooo sluggish. I know I am toxic inside and I want to detox in the friendliest, yet fastest way possible. I need to feel better.

It is so hard to know what to do when there is so much out there. I guess I will go with how I feel, but I feel so horrible all the time that I don't know what is causing what.

Hi Ya'll,

I've read that the food combo thing is bogus. I always eat fruit with protein, last longer in my stomach than if i ate fruit by its self.

As always, what works for one person's stomach might not work for another like for Serpentine.

I got one of those cast iron stomach's that can eat chili, sushi & buffalo wings at 6am but do not give it margarine or i'm in a world of hurts! emoticon

Hope This Helps

I've also read that in raw food books. Raw foodists generally take a totally different view on things, though, I've read a lot (one example here: tinyurl.com/yvlsq ) that says just don't combine anything. Personally, I need to combine different types of food to feel full and last me a couple hours. I think the only thing you really have to watch out for is acidic fruit because it's a little hard on your stomach. I try not to do fruit & nuts at the same time because it gives me indigestion, and I try to eat acidic fruit early in the day or else it's still grumbling away in my belly the next morning!

try not. do, or do not. there is no try - yoda

I've not heard that...but there is so much information out there that you need to sort through. From my understanding you should always eat a protein and a complex carb together since they both take longer to digest...so they work together.

I was reading in my raw foods book that fruit should never be eaten with other foods because the other foods digest first and then the juices from the fruit ferment in your stomach until it can be processed. Anyone know anything about this?
