I'd say take plenty of fruits, veggies, and water in the cooler. Nuts are also a good choice.

Have fun!

Thanks so much! I"ll have some of my home-made dressing ready for salads, although fast food salads usually consist of iceberg lettuce :-(. I've stocked up on apples, dried apples, Clementine oranges, carrots, celery, red peppers, turkey breast left-over (although I cannot BELIEVE the amount of sodium there!!!!), boiled eggs and Clif bars. I'll be fine. And we made a BIggest Loser casserole (Rigatoni - modified slightly) to take with us for one of the dinners. Yep, I'll be just fine!

MICHTOTMAN - I take a small notebook and keep track of my food and exercise there. When I get back, I enter it on spark.

You can almost always get a salad at any fast food place. I carry small baggies with my nuts measured out, usually an apple or two, or any other fruit that you like, and a few protein bars for when I am stuck for a healthy snack.

Have a great trip and don't worry, you'll be fine.

We like to carry pop-corn, fruits and nuts for snacks. You could take photos of your meals with a cell phone and update your tracking when you get back. Hope the weather clears, safe trip and a great family fun time!

TOmrrow we leave for a week to my in-law's farm. It's a 7-9hour drive, depending on weather (which is pretty hairy right now). I have planned on packing 2 coolers for the car with leftover turkey breasts, edamame, veggies, low fat milk, whole grain pitas and other health goodies for the trip. We are also going to shop once we get there and prepare some meals ourselves for the folks. Does anyone take road trips often enough to have some other pointers on how to make it a successful clean eating time? Any clean options at fast food places that you enjoy? Good traveling snacks that I haven't mentioned? I'm nervous about not having access to a computer so I won't be tracking (or posting or anything else) for the whole week. I hope that this won't be so hard that it puts me back to square one....
