Thanks for your replies.... I feel more at ease now. I like the suggestion of keeping things low key and not putting any emphasis on the cooler. My mom will be there too and she's brining some of my favoirte Polish dishes so no matter what, I'm sure I won't stick to clean eating completely but that's okay. It's a once a year treat!

Thanks all.... I still have a couple things to wrap! Yikes! I have to say we are almost packed though with all the skiing stuff, gifts and clothing:) It's nice to go to someone's house for Chirstmas but all this packing is driving me crazy.

I would keep everything as low key as possible. Don't eat anything you don't want, but don't make a big deal about it, either. The cooler is a terrific idea.

Our challenge will be on Christmas day with Rhonda's family. They are great people, but not much into healthy eating.

Fortunately, one meal will not sink the ship.

Yep, I'm gonna have a cooler moment too... we're headed off to the in-laws' farm (where my husband drank milk "straight out of the cow" growing up. They are, fortunately, PRETTY healthy eaters, but I'm sure I'll offend when I don't eat french toast and scrambled eggs. I'll be offering to cook a bit, but I have to be careful with that too. Fortunately, I'll have a cooler of healthy snacks for the 9 hour drive and I'll go shopping when we get there.

So no, I don't think you should worry to much about offending....

I think bringing a cooler will be fine, especially since you're trying to get your sister on to clean eating. Act like the cooler is no big deal - because its not.
I'm bringing a cooler up to my friend's house. Shouldn't be a problem since she is diabetic and is used to packing food when she's away from the house. I think alot of people have their own daily breakfast rituals - so it's not really odd to bring along your breakfast foods. I think it would be presumptive to think other people are going to stock your favorite breakfast. And a few other things just so you don't have to have special treatment - you're being a thoughtful houseguest.
Concentrate on enjoying time with family, sharing stories, making memories. They'll see that you are not obsessed about food, and will hardly notice the cooler next visit.
My 'cooler moment' will be on Christmas when I travel from my diabetic friend's house to my childhood girlfriend's house. She's doing her traditional pork roast dinner - and I didn't have the heart to remind her that I started eating a vegetarian diet in March. My cooler will have the lentil-cashew-cranberry dish from the Clean Eating magazine - my main dish and a nice side to the pork roast. I'm sure I'll be explaining to her Mom why I'm not gong to die if I don't eat meat and assuring them that I eat alot more than salad.

I feel like I will be tested starting tomorrow and until I return home, probably on Thursday. I will not track food, I think, but we'll see if I can make it. I will weigh myself first thing tomorrow morning and then Friday morning to see what happenes on the scale.

Here is the big question? I plan on packing a cooler with some essentials like my own Ezekiel sprouted bread, premixed and measured out oatmeal with wheat germ, flaxseed and protein powder for breakfasts, my yogurt etc. etc. This is my sister we are talking about, the one I'm trying to convert to clean eating and I let her borrow my book. Is this goving overbaord? I know I will hear a few comments about how I'm obsessed and how I should live a little etc. but should I really care?

As you can tell, I am a bit nervous about being away from my own kitchen and having total control of what's cooked. Help...am I crazy?? He,He
