Sparky, you are so sweet. I need to count my blessings today. They far outweigh my hardships, but I don't focus on them enough.

BTW: Thanks A Ton for encouraging me to do that long lavishing shower & sauna yesterday!!! Whew it felt great after a 2 hr workout in the gym.

I also did the bicep curls - once at home w my baby 2.5 lb weights & again at the gym with 5 lb weights & again at night with pilates bands (while waiting for DH to return from Seattle).

Also did a pear & banana, but my mango was spoiled so had to toss it out. Did lots of tomatoes though after finally finding them for .88/lb instead of the 2.80/lb of late.

Off to do my Toe Touches in 3 sets since I can hardly move today!

No condiments is a good challenge. I've been working on this & went strictly to spicy mustard for a while.

We replaced:
Ketsup completely with Red Pepper Relish or Salsa. Mayo & Sour Cream with Tofutti Sour Supreme - Better Than Sour Cream
Butter with Smart Balance Olive Oil or Challenge w Canola Oil

Still need to find a replacement for Seafood Cocktail Sauce, but use so little so seldom that it is not a great concern.

What else is considered a condiment? Glad you didn't say we had to quit condoms!!!

Ditsy me, I finally figured out to put my feet on the legs of the chair - not my legs! YES, this is hard! I lasted 2 sets of counting to 20 (really fast), then timed my 3rd try & watched the clock - only made it 10 secs. Felt very effective for inner thigs & lower abs. Thanx!

Just returned from the Mall - walked the entire circle 3 x's in 50 mins. for a 5363 aerobic steps (about 2.5 miles). Didn't stop to shop until I was done with the 3 rounds. My pedometer is up to 9859 total steps so I've done about 1.5 miles around the house & in stores. It's tough meeting the AHA's 10,000 daily steps consistently, but nice to see I have burned 242 calories so far today!

Ate my fruits & plan to eat more.
Sent an sparkmail too before I knew that was part of the challenge!

Inner thigh squeeze: Sit on the floor with a kitchen chair in front of you and with your legs extended in front of you. Put your feet on each leg and SQUEEZE as hard as you can for as long as you can. Remember to keep your back straight :) How long did you last?? Hard, isn't it? :)

OK Sparky, you challenged me a bit beyond my limits, but I did it all!

BTW: Didn't mean I Couldn't do the sit ups yesterday, just Shouldn't after doing 2-3 sets of 8 different ab & core training the day before. Had to let those muscles recover & they did, so I did 20 of 3 versions today for a total of 60 since I am a day late! Guess I put the stress on my age, which wasn't even a factor on the matter.

I also hit 9200 steps yesterday & 10,200 today!!! I still have a meeting to go out to tonight that will add a bit more. I have been working on this since the AHA recommends 10,000 steps/day. It ain't easy!

- Did 25 Squats
- Am always way below my calorie allowance (even though I feel like Miss Piggy)
- 10 Good Things About Me:
1. Faithful Christian
2. Happily married 32 yrs
3. Positive Thinker
4. Multi-Tasker (unless on Chantix) - then I am a multi-dabbler - into everything & can't focus on anything!
5. #5 (Middle Child) of 9 wonderful Siblings
6. Have lived in PA, SC (Paradise), So.Cal(7th Heaven), No.Cal (Cloud 9), TX (Pit-hole), GA (never named it)& now back in TX to find the good we missed the first time around - thus am an Adverturer.
7. Am a part-time Caregiver to a 91 yr old, 82 yr old & 76 yr old ... as well as our 28,30 & 31 yr olds - talk about being the meat sandwiched in between at 63 yr difference between folks relying on us!
8. Energetic
9. Determined & Confident
10. Finally came to my senses after 36-38 yrs & became a Non Smoker!

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 2 hours, 35 minutes and 23 seconds (14 days). I have saved $105.80 by not smoking 352 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 5 hours and 20 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 1/22/2008 3:00 PM

I spent the day with our daughter. She is prepaparing for a trip to Atlanta before house & cat sitting for us to go to PA.

Hubby had the housekeepers scheduled again so we got out of their way!

We did haircuts, shopping & lunch. Tried to get mani & pedicures, but didn't fit that in before she had to go to work.

Ate at Golden Corral, which was fast, but we both made healthy choices. Pretty sure along the way we made 5 people smile :)

Well we did the Healthy Breakfast, but couldn't eat it all. Still was very yummy.

We enjoyed a 2.5 hr workout at the gym ... in spite of learning our training sessions were scheduled for tomorrow before church, not today as we had thought!!!

I had to do my jumping jacks in the pool. Felt great, but gotta keep in a low or no impact mode right now for safety's sake.

Also did a Peppermint face mask while using the hot wax machine for my hand massage. Both were marvelous! Thanks for reminding me I had that gizmo & products right here at home! Dah on me for not using them more often.

WEEKEND HAT TRICK CHALLENGES:

Sat. 2/2/08
1. Eat a healthy breakfast.
2. Do 25 jumping jacks.
3. Give yourself a hand massage - five full minutes!
(See luxurious home spa recipe)

Sun. 2/3/08
1. Eat 3 servings of veggies.
2. Relaxation Stretch - lay on your back, legs together, arms down at your side, close your eyes, slowly stretch your arms (keeping them on the floor) in a circle-like motion until they are stretched directly above your head. Feel the stretch, breathe. Just when you feel you've really stretched, point your toes and reach your arms a little further, you can do it, it feels good.
3. Give yourself a foot massage for 5 full minutes.

OK now for a little homemade magic :)

In a small/medium bowl, mix either brown or white sugar with baby oil, add a dab of your favorite scented lotion or scented bath oil (just to give it a wonderful smell). Scrub into your skin - the sugar acts as the exfoiliator getting rid of dead skin cells and bringing new cells to life and to the surface, the baby oil will make your skin feel so SOFT!!

This is Perfect for my Fitness Day Off from anything except building steps on my pedometer (to beat Hubby out)! It's hysterical how we each try to be first to fill the 8 gal humidifier every morning & night. He wants me to fill the containers & let him collect the steps!

Tomorrow is my next (2nd)appt with the Personal Trainer. We've done Upper Body Consult & are going to focus on a hearty Core Training Session. I hurt already just thinking about it!

I'll be back to post my results of the challenge!
