The hardest thing for me is soda. I work at Subway and I have access to free soda all day long. I try so hard to drink water instead, but after two waters, I tell myself I'm doing good and I go straight for the Dr. Pepper or Diet Coke (which is no better than regular Coke).

I even gave a speech for my public speaking class about how bad soda is for our bodies, yet I continue to drink it. I drink a lot of water, I have sugar free water flavoring packets that I keep in my purse but it doesn't seem like enough to keep me away from soda. Any other ideas?

I also have a hard time keeping track of my calories throughout the day. Especially since I don't always have access to my computer to log my meals on Spark...

Overall, I'm not too satisfied with my "progress" so far.. I really need to get back in shape!!

Any motivational techniques will work!! Thanks guys!

Hi all, I have been a part of sparkpeople and busy bees for over a year now. Unfortunately I got out of habit of using the website so i haven't been doing much since before summer. I decided to make the sparkpeople site my home site so that i am forced to look at it everyday. It has definitely helped. Hope all is well for everyone else here. I will try to participate a lot more on here in the futureemoticon

Things are good here... Had weigh in and I am down instead of up.

Should be writing a paper and a presentation... Back to research I suppose...

Hey guys! Let's use this topic to basically give updates on what's going on. I just requested for us to be considered to be put up on Spark Peoples homepage. So let's show spark people why our team deserves a spot! What is every one else up to lately?

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.
Without them, humanity cannot survive.

Hi you all! I just wanted to say hey while I have some time and see how you all are doing! I know I've been really busy this summer, I'm working 2 jobs and taking a class on top of it all! I don't have an entire day off every...the most I get is a morning off!!

I'm at 212 now which is a 15 pound loss for the whole summer (as of right now) and I'm wearing a size 16...I started out the summer at an 18 so yay for progress. I've also started jogging and it's hard but I'm doing my best at staying active!

hope I hear from some of you soon!

Starting Monday (I have my last test on Tuesday but I won't study for it Monday night anyway) I'm on an exercise streak too. I want to become super active girl, that's my main goal this summer. To be as active as I can!

Oh. my. goodness. I know it must seem like I've fallen off the face of the SparkPeoplePlanet, and I kinda did for a while. Now my hiatus is over and I'm starting an exercise streak! (I'm only on day 2, but I'm excited). Hope to chat with you all a lot more!

I love ice cream. I think that it should count as negative calories because its just that amazing. But, that'll never happen. Le sigh.

Lets see. I started early this month, and that makes me grumpy. That also makes me crave everything in sight. Sooooo, we'll see how that goes.

Aside from that, this morning I didn't really do much at work but play on SparkPeople. went to the gym and almost DIED because someone forgot to open the screen door. Naturally I picked the elliptical closest to the treadmill, because someone was on my usual one, and sure enough, the GORGEOUS AND RIDICULOUSLY IN SHAPE BOY that I always eye happened to jump on the treadmill next to me (AS I'M DYING!) He left, and then I gave in and opened the screen. Le sigh, how unglamourous. Not that working out is.

And then I redid one of the boards at work and worked on my internship. The end. Soooooooo glad it's Friday.

Hi everyone! This is a great idea for a topic.

I've been pretty stressed recently because classes are winding down and I've got a lot to do still. I haven't been going to my PE class (step aerobics) as often as I should (partly due to stress and partly due to me being LAZY) but I'm going to start going again soon.

I've been over my calories SEVERAL times this week, but at least I've been trying to be honest about logging what I've eaten. One problem is that my boyfriend wants to eat ice cream before bed, but only if I'm going to share it with him. Not because he's worried about eating too much, but because it's only fun if I'm eating it with him I guess. I've been trying to plan my calories to allow for some ice cream at the end of the day, but I still shouldn't be eating ice cream every day! This is what I get for buying a half gallon of Andes mint ice cream I guess. Oh well.

I forgot! I found this amazing popsicles, Solero-type (have you got solero over there?) and they're only.... 24kcal each! 0% fat, no sugar, really really yummy, and just 24kcal! I just can't believe it. It's going to be in most of my summer days...

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

Yesterday was my first day without ED behaviours in a very long time, and I think I'm going to make it today too... I ate too much last night, I was craving something sweet and blew it, but still managed to stay in my range (upper limit, though) and burnt almost 500kcal at the gym (nothing obsessive, working with my trainer) So... yay for me!
Today I went shopping with my mum, my grandparents' wedding is next week (50th anniversary, vow renewal) and I got the prettiest dress! You can see it in my Sparkpage... I had a good breakfast, then an orange mid-morning and steamed broccoli and turkey breast meat (and fat free cheese spread on top of it all) for lunch. Not bad, huh? I'm at 630kcal and it's already 6PM!

I hope you're all doing ok!

Also!

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad day, but that you seem like you've got everything under control. Its a hard road to relearn and integrate these behaviors into daily life, and I think you're doing great.

Take care of yourself!

Well, lets see.
I haven't been to excited with my eating of late - not too horribly over, but I think with the amount I work out, I could stand to eat a few more calories...
Weighing in tomorrow, but I don't expect anything like the last weigh-in (two weeks - 7 pounds lost..), but I'm hopeful. :( I don't have the time for a real sweaty workout today, and I'm kinda bummed about it.

Right now I'm at my internship researching abstinence and comprehensive sex education (I'm compiling a notebook of the definitions and differences..), and I have a headache from getting used to new glasses with a stronger prescription. But they're wicked cute (and RED!) so I figure its mostly worth it.

How is everyone else?

I had a very bad day yesterday. With my friend we went to this all you can eat buffet. It's all salad&pasta&pizza... and yes, the thing I ate the less was salad. I am guilty. Then, Starbuck's, caramel macchiatto w/whip... oh and then so much candy my stomach was burning. Then I couldn't help it, back to ed behaviours... Anyway, today I'm doing quite ok, I've had milk+all bran for breakfast, and as midmorning snack I just ate a kiwi and 3oz fat free yogurt with a few raisins.
My lunch is already planned: green beans, a little tiny bit of baked potato and grilled chicken breast. Oh and one orange. I always need something sweet at the end!

Hi Cristina! Maybe you should try to have some yogurt with cereal... it's a healthy (and yummy, at least for me) way to get up to your range...
At least you're exercising and trying to eat well...

Hello everyone!

I've been missing a few weeks now, and I'm very sorry for it. I've had a very hard time with some ED behaviours that I'm trying to get under control now. I thought we could have a check in thread so we can keep the other one for welcomes and so. What do you think?

I've seen there are so many new members around, and that's so so great! I'm so happy we're such a "big" team! Keep the newbies coming!

Well, so, yeah, I've been doing some stupid things to my body, and that's why I've gone up 4lbs since last month. Call me loser. But this is going to change. This has to change. I had actually gained 6lbs, but 2 of them are off now.
Yesterday I had a meeting with a personal trainer at my gym who put up a routine for me. Well, two, actually. One with just cardio and abs and the other one with cardio and general strength training, some abs, legs, lifting... I'm glad I can alternate both, that way I won't get bored. Also, since you go around the gym with one of those memory sticks, it records every single exercise you do, the weight you lift, your speed, your bpm, the calories you burn, and then you can see your progress day by day on the computer. I think that's great to keep me motivated!
I have to go now, I'm meeting a friend for lunch... I'm very scared about what will I eat, we'll see...
