I've been a member of sparkpeople since dec 2009. Been into an exersice weight lose frenzee for about four years. This is the longest period I've practiced exersice in a regular regimen. Many times before I've been into exersice for a short while but have always come back. The heaviest I've been at this height is 260 the lightest 185. Now I'm around 190. I'm a first year grad student at Northeastern in Boston, MA. in technical Communications. My undergrad is Electronics engineering from Wentworht Institute in Boston, MA. Thinking of switching to a more bio engineeering related major. I have a family history of heart desiease and diabetes.

I think thats a good idea, to be able to talk to someone in similar situations, and to kinda help each other.

May I suggest a daily forum for chit chat. I do this in another group I am in and love it. Just to come by and talk about the challenges of the day is nice. You can always post questions...

I just joined this team, i'm a college student who finds it really hard to eat healthy in the dining hall.

What are some goals or things that you guys do to overcome this?

As far as building the team up, I think people just need to start discussions and contribute ideas.

come up with healthy snacks, so that those of us who are commuters and stay for a full day have healthy choices. I cannot have chocolate, peanuts, beets, wheat, dairy, shellfish, potatoes, and coffee. This makes it so I eat lots of gummi bears and skittles which I know is wrong, but I do not know what I can eat.

Hi, Dia_Rolle here and I'm a new member of this SparkTeam. To help answer your question, here are some suggestions that can be used to liven up this forum:

1. Share recipes that would be fit for health conscious college students on a tight budget and a tight schedule.

2.Share tips about college pantry essentials. I work in the student services department at my college so I come across many mamma's boys that don't know the first thing about saving money or cooking and don't know the wonders of a George Foreman Grill.

3.Discuss healthy fast food and cafeteria menu picks since Busy Bees in College will eventually end up eating out.

And about your team involvement idea and setting team goals, I'm totally up for it! Maybe we can set up a poll of some sort.

We need our old members to check in and respond to the forums, and we could use some new members. What are some ways to get members more involved?Also we should set some team goals, but I would like to decide these goals as a TEAM not by myself because the goals are for everyone not just one person.Give me your feedback!
