So... as an example: the "old" way was a standard number of calories; i.e., maybe 1,800 per day. It didn't change. It assumed everyone was sedentary.
But now... with this new feature, you can enter your activity level, and your calorie range will go up (or down) depending on how active you are THAT day.

I -did- read that once you change your settings, it's permanent. It is also the default setting for all new members who join after today 7-9-2013. For now, I don't plan to switch...
